CHAPTER 249: CHAPTER 249: SO TANYA SINCLAIR WAS ALMOST HIS FIANCÉE

Old Master Kendall glanced over and, instead of showing any surprise, remarked meaningfully, "I always wondered how someone like Tanya could come from the Lynn Family’s genes."

The test results were crystal clear—there was no parent-child relationship between Tanya Sinclair and Sean Lynn.

Old Master Kendall, although advanced in age, was quite clear-minded.

"It seems that when Charlotte married Sean Lynn back then, there might have been some hidden agenda. As for the truth of the matter, Horace Sinclair might know something, worried about being exposed, Sean Lynn tried to get rid of him. Little did he know, Tanya had already dug a trap for him to fall into!"

Thinking about Tanya Sinclair deliberately tricking Sean Lynn, Old Master Kendall couldn’t help but chuckle.

"That girl really has a head full of ideas, just like her grandmother when she was young."

A peculiar and intriguing glint flashed in Felix Kendall’s eyes.

"Grandpa, so there’s no doubt that Tanya is indeed a Sinclair daughter."

Old Master Kendall looked at him knowingly after hearing this.

"Are you trying to say, Larry, the engagement I verbally arranged with the Sinclair Family back then still stands? You rascal, have you really taken a fancy to Tanya?"

Felix moved a pawn forward with a slight smile, "Since she’s already divorced, there’s no harm in trying."

Old Master Kendall shot a glance at his grandson, "In today’s world, arranged childhood marriages are out of date. Don’t expect your old grandpa to morally coerce someone for you!"

Felix smiled lazily, "Even if you wanted to morally coerce her, I doubt Tanya would fall for it."

Old Master Kendall warned him sternly.

"It’s one thing if you’re interested in others for novelty or fun, but if you dare to play with Tanya and then leave, I’ll break your legs! And from what I see, Tanya may not even fancy you."

Felix replied helplessly, "Grandpa, don’t believe the nonsense people say outside. Also, could you stop discouraging your own grandson?"

After all, you never know unless you try, whether she fancies him or not?

Just then, the butler came to report.

"Sir, Ms. Sinclair has arrived."

...

Tanya was escorted by the household servant to the tea room, and after a moment, Old Master Kendall arrived, pushed by Felix Kendall in a wheelchair.

Tanya immediately stood up from her chair, "Grandpa Kendall."

She also glanced at Felix, nodding politely, "Mr. Kendall."

"Have a seat." Old Master Kendall, having confirmed Tanya’s identity, grew increasingly fond of her, "Tanya, regarding the paternity test results, I believe you already guessed it."

Tanya was quite candid, "Yes, Sean Lynn is not my biological father."

Old Master Kendall pretended to test her, "Then why are you still brave enough to come to the Kendall Family, not afraid I’ll accuse you of impersonating a Sinclair daughter and detain you on the spot?"

Tanya replied with composure.

"I imagine, considering Sean Lynn’s guilty conscience, encouraging someone to harm my grandfather, you, Grandpa Kendall, should have heard about it long ago, right? You don’t care whether I’m Sean Lynn’s daughter, you only care if I’m of Sinclair blood, Iris Keene’s granddaughter."

Iris Keene was her grandmother’s name.

Old Master Kendall was very pleased with her intelligence and transparency.

As he wasn’t one for beating around the bush, he spoke directly, "Tanya, if there’s anything you need my help with, feel free to ask as long as it’s within my capability!"

"There is indeed something I wish to ask Grandpa Kendall." Tanya said earnestly, "I want to know who my biological father is. Grandpa Kendall, do you have any clues you could share?"

Upon hearing this, Felix, who was sitting beside drinking tea, raised an eyebrow, somewhat surprised.

He had thought that with everything the Lynn Family had done, the first thing Tanya would ask is for Old Master Kendall to step in and help her deal with the Lynn Family...

"Well, that, I truly don’t know. But I do have some connections and means; I’ll do my best to investigate for you." Old Master Kendall replied.

"Alright, then I’ll thank you in advance, Grandpa Kendall." Tanya smiled and then took out a sachet from her bag, "The last time I visited, I noticed you used various incenses here, mainly calming ones, so I prepared this. You can take a piece each time, place it in the incense burner, it has the effect of calming the mind and nurturing the body."

One does not visit empty-handed, and Tanya did feel a warmth towards Grandpa Kendall.

Old Master Kendall was naturally delighted and grew increasingly satisfied with Tanya.

He lacked the fortune with Iris Keene back then, but if Tanya could marry into the Kendall Family...

"Tanya, I’m feeling a bit tired. I plan to take a nap; let Felix take you to tour the back mountain, it’s filled with medicinal herbs, you might enjoy it."

Tanya politely declined.

"No, thank you, Grandpa Kendall. I have work to handle, I’ll come chat with you next time. Please rest well, I won’t disturb you."

Her politeness was unassailable.

Old Master Kendall had no choice but to relent, "Then let Felix see you off."

Before Tanya could say anything, Felix had already stood up, gesturing for her to go first.

To refuse again would be seen as somewhat pretentious.

Tanya bid farewell to Old Master Kendall and followed Felix outside.

Along the way, Tanya deliberately kept a safe social distance from him.

Felix spoke with helplessness, "Ms. Sinclair, have I done something to give you a bad impression? You seem not to like me very much."

"Mr. Kendall, you’re overthinking. To me, you’re just Grandpa Kendall’s grandson and nothing more." Tanya replied nonchalantly, "I heard you’ve been stationed in the military region for a long time, and you’re just back on vacation this time, right? So, we probably won’t have many chances to meet again. We are mere acquaintances; I wish you all the best."

The main door was just ahead; Tanya could already see her car parked outside. She had arranged to meet Aunt Tawny for lunch, and the timing was just on point.

After hearing her words, Felix didn’t say much, but his expression turned subtly.

Tanya naturally wouldn’t waste time trying to guess his thoughts, and politely said goodbye to Felix Kendall, "I shall leave first, Mr. Kendall."

She opened the car door, ready to start the vehicle, when Felix walked over and knocked on the car window.

Somewhat puzzled, Tanya lowered the window, "Is there something else?"

Felix looked at her through the window, his handsome face with sharply defined features. He gave a faint smile, "You’re right, Ms. Sinclair, I do have to return to the military region, in a couple of days. And this time, I’m likely heading on a special mission, to an international war zone for peacekeeping."

Tanya, not understanding why he suddenly shared this, yet still sincerely replied, "During your mission, make sure to stay safe and I wish you success in your tasks and a triumphant return."

She truly hoped that all soldiers would remain safe.

Felix smiled once more, and without saying anything further, he looked deeply at her and took a couple of steps back.

"Goodbye, Tanya Sinclair." He enunciated her name with emphasis.

"Goodbye, Mr. Kendall."

Tanya raised the car window and left without any further thought. After driving a short distance, she could still see through the rearview mirror that Felix remained in place, seemingly watching her leave.
