Wrong Love, Final Goodbye: She'll Never Look Back
Chapter 250: Her Weakness
CHAPTER 250: CHAPTER 250: HER WEAKNESS
Tanya drove all the way to the restaurant where she had arranged to meet Aunt Tawny, who had already arrived.
"Ms. Sinclair, over here." Aunt Tawny waved at her.
Tanya went over and sat down, asked Aunt Tawny’s preference, and ordered two signature dishes and a soup.
While waiting for the meal, Aunt Tawny took a sachet out of her bag and handed it to Tanya.
"Ms. Sinclair, this is the sachet Cindy Lynn gave to Joy. Joy places it beside her pillow every night. She carries another one with her."
Tanya took it and smelled it delicately. The scent wasn’t overwhelming, but after a while, it made her a bit dizzy.
Tanya could only identify a few familiar herbs within, but some components required further examination.
She tried to take some spices out of the sachet but found that it was completely sealed. Unless she cut it open, it couldn’t be accessed.
"Ms. Sinclair, take it to examine carefully," Aunt Tawny said. "I’ll just tell the young miss that I accidentally dirtied her sachet while cleaning and threw it away. The young miss’s temper comes and goes quickly. I’ll just make something delicious to cheer her up."
Joy indeed has a bit of a princess temper, a little spoiled, but she’s not a bad kid at heart. Aunt Tawny has been with her for so long, Joy wouldn’t hold a grudge against her for too long.
For now, this was the best they could do.
"Alright, thank you for your hard work, Aunt Tawny."
"Ms. Sinclair, you don’t have to be so polite with me," Aunt Tawny looked at Tanya, who seemed inexplicably much more beautiful than before.
Her whole presence had improved significantly. When she walked in, she seemed to be glowing, and several tables of guests couldn’t help but turn and look.
Aunt Tawny was genuinely happy for Tanya. "Ms. Sinclair, you’re truly different now, it’s like a rebirth! This divorce was the best thing for you!"
Tanya knew Aunt Tawny’s words were sincere.
"Thank you, Aunt Tawny."
When she first married into The Hawthorne Family, due to the attitude of the hosts, the house staff looked down on her, but Aunt Tawny was one of the few who genuinely respected her as the lady of the house.
Aunt Tawny then took out some things from the bag, all of which belonged to Caden, even his educational toys.
Caden had left in a hurry last night and forgot some things. Aunt Tawny was meticulous, filling in the gaps, and brought everything today.
"Aunt Tawny, once a new nanny is found, come and work with me. I’ve already informed the old madam."
Aunt Tawny replied, "The new nanny will arrive tomorrow. I’ll guide her through the young miss’s daily routine, meals, and so forth. Once the transition is done, I’ll come."
"Alright."
Tanya and Ms. Tawny were eating and chatting, not noticing a woman wearing sunglasses and a hat walk in, arm in arm with luxury shopping bags.
"Yvonne, what are you looking at?" Yvonne Hawthorne’s friend asked curiously.
Yvonne had returned low-key from abroad after avoiding attention for a while. Now that the news of Vincent Hawthorne’s engagement to Cindy Lynn had been announced, she had to come back for her brother’s engagement party.
Yvonne had just spent the morning shopping with her shallow friends and came in for a meal when she unexpectedly saw a ’familiar face’.
Aunt Tawny was secretly meeting that bitch Tanya Sinclair in private!
Could it be that Tanya Sinclair still had evil intentions and intended to stir up trouble at her brother’s engagement party with Cindy Lynn?
Yvonne Harothorne was seething with anger at Tanya and immediately took out her phone to record a video.
Her friends also recognized Tanya.
"Yvonne, isn’t that your country bumpkin sister-in-law?"
Yvonne replied impatiently, "Stop talking nonsense. My brother already dumped her, and he’s about to be engaged to a rich and beautiful debutante from The Lynn Family!"
Another friend couldn’t help but glance at Tanya again.
"She actually doesn’t look that rustic, quite pretty..."
Before she could finish, Yvonne glared at her fiercely.
The woman quickly changed her tone. "But her aura is terrible, she looks so low-class!"
Yvonne was satisfied, and as she turned to walk towards the private room, she sent the video she recorded to Cindy Lynn.
Yvonne was quite pleased with Cindy Lynn as her new sister-in-law.
Cindy Lynn had spent a considerable amount of money helping her with public relations during a scandal, and she also promised to introduce her to some well-matched second-generation elite at the engagement party.
While abroad, she occasionally chatted with Cindy, who casually mentioned that Tanya Sinclair was still causing trouble even after the divorce, constantly trying to create opportunities to appear around Vincent!
She wouldn’t let that bitch Tanya Sinclair have any chance to enter The Hawthorne Family again!
...
Cindy Lynn and Vincent Hawthorne were dining together at The Lynn Family villa.
At the dining table, there were only Vincent Hawthorne and Cindy Lynn.
Since Sean Lynn was taken away, Shelly Sullivan had been staying in the temple, chanting prayers for blessings.
Cindy Lynn saw the video sent by Yvonne Hawthorne, a hint of annoyance flashed in her eyes.
That old thing, Aunt Tawny, seems tired of living! Always popping up to upset her!
"What’s wrong?" Vincent Hawthorne noticed Cindy Lynn’s unusual expression.
"It’s nothing, just a message from Yvonne." Cindy Lynn forced a smile at Vincent Hawthorne, "She went shopping for a dress to attend our engagement party this morning, asking me if it looks good."
Yvonne Hawthorne got along well with Cindy Lynn.
Hearing this, Vincent Hawthorne didn’t say much more. His phone rang at that moment, and Vincent Hawthorne immediately answered, "Hello, Secretary Sterling."
"Mr. Hawthorne, Director Abbott is on a business trip, currently on a plane, and may not be able to take your call."
"Business trip?" Vincent Hawthorne frowned slightly, recognizing it as an excuse. He had checked Director Abbott’s schedule; there was no departure from Aris today!
"Then may I ask when the director will be available, I..."
"Sorry, Mr. Hawthorne, Director Abbott isn’t available recently. Perhaps you can have a meal during his private time another day."
With that, the person on the other end hung up.
Vincent Hawthorne’s face looked a bit displeased.
He had already contacted several people in politics and the police, but as soon as they heard it was about Sean Lynn’s case, they all avoided it.
Could it be that The Kendall Family has taken action...
Vincent Hawthorne frowned tightly, and at that moment, he received a call from Rhys Lucas.
Vincent Hawthorne immediately stood up and went to the side to take the call.
"Rhys, what’s the situation on The Kendall Family’s side?"
Rhys Lucas got straight to the point: "The parentage test results for Tanya Sinclair and Uncle Lynn are out. She is not Uncle Lynn’s biological daughter."
He had spent a lot of money bribing an old servant from The Kendall Family to dig the test report out of the trash can.
Rhys Lucas said with disgust, "The Sinclair mother and daughter are really shameless. Tanya Sinclair’s mother, Charlotte Sinclair, cheated on Uncle Lynn, and it’s said that Tanya Sinclair was called over but was kicked out by Old Master Kendall in less than half an hour!"
"..." Vincent Hawthorne felt somewhat relieved. It seemed The Kendall Family didn’t take action.
As long as The Kendall Family didn’t interfere, The Lynn Family could hold their ground!
Vincent Hawthorne glanced back at Cindy Lynn; she was putting peeled shrimp into his bowl.
Perhaps sensing his gaze, Cindy Lynn met his eyes, smiling gently, appearing serene and graceful.
"..." Vincent Hawthorne’s heart softened slightly.
Rhys Lucas hesitated and asked, "Vincent, now that Uncle Lynn has been arrested, your engagement to Cindy..."
"The engagement party will proceed as scheduled," Vincent Hawthorne said in a low voice. "Cindy has sacrificed too much for me; I can’t abandon her at this critical moment."
Rhys Lucas paused and said, "Alright, if you need any help, just tell me. Your and Cindy’s matter is also my matter."
After dinner, Vincent Hawthorne left the Lynn residence.
Just as he left, Shelly Sullivan came out of the meditation room.
The gentleness on Cindy Lynn’s face was nowhere to be found.
"Mom, Tanya Sinclair not only refused to withdraw the lawsuit, that bitch met privately with Aunt Tawny! She’s eyeing the sachet I gave Joy!"
In the video, Cindy Lynn saw a corner of the sachet sticking out of Tanya Sinclair’s bag for a second, precisely the one she made for Joy!
"Why panic? The ingredients in that sachet aren’t something Tanya Sinclair can figure out immediately." Shelly Sullivan remained calm, "Moreover, the sachet needs to be used in conjunction with the deep hypnosis I’ve developed to be effective. She would need extraordinary luck to investigate to that extent."
Shelly Sullivan sneered, and as she spoke, a one-eyed man emerged from the small meditation room behind her.
It was indeed Old Ninth King, who was supposed to be dead!
He glared fiercely, "That bitch Tanya Sinclair caused my four brothers to be captured! Even if I die, I’ll drag her down with me!" Old Ninth King had also secretly followed Tanya Sinclair but couldn’t find an opportunity to strike!
"She still has Mason Vance by her side for protection, hardly ever alone!"
Shelly Sullivan toyed with the Buddha beads in her hand, smiling slowly, "Isn’t Tanya Sinclair’s weak spot in our hands now?" she said, giving Cindy Lynn a meaningful look.
Cindy Lynn was slightly stunned, then understood her mother’s implication.
"Mom, you mean... use Joy?"
