Wrong Love, Final Goodbye: She'll Never Look Back
Chapter 260: Ms. Sinclair, I Am Indeed Pursuing You
CHAPTER 260: CHAPTER 260: MS. SINCLAIR, I AM INDEED PURSUING YOU
"Don’t talk nonsense, how is that possible? Maybe it’s just someone with the same name." Belinda explained as she calmly walked forward and logged out of Tanya Sinclair’s WeChat.
In the break room, Tanya Sinclair had just brought her coffee and was about to reply to Declan Pierce when she received a notification about being logged out of WeChat on her computer.
Tanya Sinclair: "..."
With no choice but to face it, she returned to the meeting room, only to be stopped by Belinda at the door.
"You and President Pierce?!" Belinda’s eyes were wide with shock. "What’s going on between you two?"
Sure enough, she’s been caught...
Tanya Sinclair: "Declan Pierce and I are college classmates. He has some health issues and it’s inconvenient for him to see a doctor, so I privately prescribed some medication for him."
"Health issues?" Belinda rubbed her chin, her expression turning suggestive. She patted Tanya Sinclair’s shoulder understandingly, "Things like this are indeed difficult to discuss with outsiders. Don’t worry, I logged out of your WeChat and explained that it was just someone with the same name as President Pierce."
"...Thank you, Ms. Belinda."
Still, from Belinda’s expression, Tanya felt she might have misunderstood. "Ms. Belinda, Declan’s not..."
But explaining that he didn’t have functional issues seemed awkward too.
And how would she know if Declan had functional issues or not?
Tanya decided to keep quiet.
Belinda probably wouldn’t meet with Declan again anyway.
In the afternoon, after finishing her work, Tanya planned to pick up Joy. Just as she got into her car, she received a call from Declan.
Thinking about the misunderstanding with Belinda earlier, she felt slightly guilty.
"Hello."
"Do you have any plans for tonight?" Declan got straight to the point. "Shall we have dinner together?"
Tanya Sinclair: "...We just had dinner together yesterday."
"But I still want to see you today." Declan’s tone was so earnest, without a hint of teasing.
Tanya was momentarily speechless at his straightforwardness.
She’s not good with evasive answers, so she honestly said, "Declan, the way you say it, it really sounds like you’re pursuing me..."
Declan chuckled softly, a sound that tickled her ears.
"No misunderstanding." His voice was warm and clear as he told her, "Ms. Sinclair, I am indeed pursuing you."
Tanya Sinclair: "..."
His voice was lazily magnetic, with an indescribable sexiness.
"This is my first time pursuing a girl. If there’s anything I’m not doing well, please guide me."
"..."
Tanya felt her ears heat up slightly.
Is it really his first time?
He’s so skilled at this!
"Well, I have to pick up Joy and Caden. We’ll probably eat out, so we might be home late."
Declan paused for a moment before asking, "Is it just the three of you?"
Tanya didn’t understand, "There’s also Aunt Tawny. I’m afraid I can’t manage alone."
On the other end, Declan’s tone turned lighter and more relaxed.
"Alright, have fun." He smiled.
After hanging up, Tanya realized a beat later that Declan was asking if Vincent was there...
Tanya shook her head slightly.
In fact, she didn’t mind Declan’s pursuit.
It just felt a bit surreal, like a dream.
Someone who has liked her for many years and done so much for her...
To say she wasn’t touched would be a lie, but to talk about love, it was still too early.
She thought, let’s just go with the flow.
After hanging up, on her way to pick up her children from school, Tanya shared with her friend Daisy Bell her plan to bring Joy home tonight. She didn’t mention Declan, planning to talk about it next time they met.
Daisy had already recovered from the blow of being replaced in a role and had thrown herself into new work.
Hearing Tanya say that Joy seemed ready to accept her, Daisy was happy for Tanya, but still a bit worried.
"Bonnie, Joy was so resistant to you before, and now just two words from Vincent and she changed? And weren’t you suspecting that the sachet Cindy gave Joy had something wrong? You should be careful."
Tanya knew well that Joy’s sudden change of heart might have another motive.
But Joy is her daughter.
Regardless of whether Joy truly wanted to accept her, as a mother, she couldn’t refuse her daughter’s approach.
"Daisy, Joy is my biological daughter. If she’s standing in a trap with her hand outstretched for me, I can’t not reach out to her."
"Joy is only five years old. If she’s really being used by Cindy, I need to pull her out and protect her."
Daisy sighed softly and couldn’t help but ask, "Tanya, what if Joy never warms to you? What if she only ever sides with Cindy, then what? You can’t let Cindy hold Joy as a trump card over you!"
Tanya had considered this possibility too.
She grasped the steering wheel and stared at the road ahead, giving a silent, self-deprecating smile.
"Don’t worry, Daisy. I’ve done what I can, with a clear conscience. If Joy chooses Cindy despite everything, then we just aren’t meant to be mother and daughter in this life. I’ll let go."
Of course, she loves her daughter. But if she can’t warm Joy’s heart with all the love she has, then she’ll stop there.
Arriving at the school gate, many students were already leaving. She spotted Caden holding Joy’s hand, chatting and laughing as they came out.
The two of them, as pretty as dolls, stood out among the crowd, drawing glances from the other parents.
"Caden, Joy." Tanya leaned out of the car, waving to the two children.
"Mom!" Caden, holding Joy’s hand, happily ran over and climbed into the back seat.
Just looking at her two children made Tanya smile. She gently asked, "Where do you want to eat tonight? Where do you want to go?"
Caden suggested, "Let my sister decide!"
He hoped Joy would have fun tonight and spend more time with Mom. That way, Joy would realize how great Mom was!
Tanya also looked at Joy, "Sweetie, you plan tonight. Mommy and your brother will do whatever you want, okay?"
"..." Joy looked down, mumbling, "I want to go to the Ferris Wheel theme park. There’s an acrobat show there tonight. Erin and her friends went last week and said it was great."
"Okay, then we’ll go to the park." Tanya agreed immediately.
She then set the car’s navigation to the Ferris Wheel theme park.
As the sun set, large fiery clouds filled the sky, creating a stunning sunset.
Because of the acrobat show in the park today, many visitors were there, mostly parents with children.
There were plenty of staff dressed as various clowns playing games with the children and handing out candies and balloons.
Joy and Caden, being children, played games and interacted with the staff happily.
Tanya watched them with warmth in her heart, feeling almost as if it was blooming.
She took several pictures and, looking at her adorable children, finally understood why those moms online were so eager to share pictures of their kids.
It was like having the most wonderful treasure and wanting to proudly show it to the world.
Tanya couldn’t resist posting the kids’ photos on her Moments, tagging the location.
[May my babies always be safe and happy.]
Declan’s WeChat didn’t have many contacts, and even fewer people who liked posting on Moments. He had blocked Zion Monroe, who could update eight times a day, so when there was an update, he clicked in casually.
He saw Tanya’s post.
All three photos were of Caden and Joy, and in the last one, Tanya’s face was halfway visible, her eyes smiling like crescent moons.
Declan smiled and was about to like the post but saw a friend had already liked it.
—Julian Poole.
Declan’s smile faded away.
Julian Poole: [So cute, Joy is as pretty as you.]
Tanya replied: [Thank you.]
Julian Poole: [I’m around the Ferris Wheel Park area too, how about having a meal together?]
Declan: "..."
He snapped his phone shut.
"Janne, head to Ferris Wheel Park!" Declan said with a cold face. "Also, contact the senior executive in charge of Julian’s project and say there’s an issue with the engineering system that needs Julian to return to the company immediately!"
Leave him unattended for a moment, and this Poole guy starts showing up everywhere!
