Wrong Love, Final Goodbye: She'll Never Look Back
Chapter 271: President Pierce and Ms. Sinclair Must Be Nearby!
CHAPTER 271: CHAPTER 271: PRESIDENT PIERCE AND MS. SINCLAIR MUST BE NEARBY!
Declan Pierce never expected that the first woman to pull down his pants would be Tanya Sinclair.
He reached out to hold his belt, but Tanya Sinclair slapped the back of his hand unceremoniously.
"Don’t move!" she glared at him fiercely.
This lively and vivid Tanya Sinclair was something he had longed for...
"It’s the right leg." Declan Pierce gave up resisting and chose to be honest, "The calf might be seriously injured."
Even though she was mentally prepared, Tanya Sinclair was still shocked by the horrific wound in front of her when she rolled up Declan Pierce’s right pant leg.
His entire right leg was almost unscathed, and a piece of bone was visibly dislocated and protruding, piercing through the flesh, a stark white fragment that looked painful.
And yet Declan Pierce endured it silently!
"Don’t cry." Declan Pierce was most afraid of seeing her tears. Seeing Tanya Sinclair’s eyes turn red, he said softly, "It really doesn’t hurt, being soaked in water for so long, I can’t feel much anymore."
"Don’t talk!" Tanya Sinclair had never seen such a stubborn patient! She glared at him, then stood up and reached behind her back to take things out one by one.
She produced clean gauze, hemostatic ointment, and painkillers.
All of them she had just managed to obtain.
Tanya Sinclair found two more boards to make a temporary splint for Declan Pierce.
"Declan, I won’t let you be lame." Tanya Sinclair said softly.
Declan Pierce smiled slightly; in truth, he didn’t care about these things at all.
As long as she was alive, what did a broken leg matter?
But the person before him looked so serious, her eyes brimming with unshed tears, and his heart ached sharply.
Declan Pierce reached out, his fingertips gently brushing her warm eye corners, replying warmly, "Alright."
That night, Tanya Sinclair and Declan Pierce lay on a mat of straw. Afraid of touching Declan Pierce’s wound, Tanya Sinclair curled up into a small ball, trying to take up as little space as possible.
She slept lightly, her nerves taut, ready to open her eyes at the slightest rustle outside.
But her body was still too exhausted.
Later, half asleep, Tanya Sinclair felt herself being enfolded in a strong arm. She didn’t manage to open her eyes before catching the familiar scent of the other person, cool and clean, calming her heart.
"Sleep now, I’m here." Declan Pierce soothed in a gentle voice.
As the furrow between the brows of the person in his embrace slowly eased, Declan Pierce reached out lightly to remove the folding knife Tanya Sinclair had placed beside her head before sleeping.
His gaze swept over the shadow cast beneath the door, his eyes flashing with a fierce coldness, murderous intent surging wildly in his blood.
Outside the door was a man with a shaved head, getting up at night to relieve himself.
As he passed the woodshed, he thought of Tanya Sinclair, feeling a tingle in his heart.
The man with the shaved head quietly approached, pressing his ear to the door to listen for a while, hearing no movement, he assumed they were asleep.
He tentatively pushed against the door, but something inside had blocked it.
The man with the shaved head didn’t want to make too much noise—not because he was afraid of waking the man and woman inside, after all that woman might be stubborn and fierce, but she was still just a woman, not hefty as his arm!
As for that man, injured so badly, he was probably a cripple. Even if he wasn’t hurt, with a face like that, he must be a kept man, living off a woman!
He had been running with the gang since his teens, cutting people with his boss!
Such a pretty boy, he could handle with one hand!
The man with the shaved head was wary of waking Big Brother Brock.
He went around to the back of the woodshed—there was a wooden window on the wall. When he peered through it to see inside, something from the darkness suddenly flew at him, hitting him right in the face!
As the man with the shaved head cried out in pain, Declan Pierce within the woodshed first covered the ears of the person in his arms.
The night was waning, as a sliver of dawn light appeared on the horizon.
The Kendall Family’s old residence.
Felix Kendall was jogging around the artificial lake when his subordinate’s call came through.
Felix Kendall halted, tapping twice on the earpiece to answer.
"Did you find them?" His breathing was still stable.
"Mr. Kendall, Ms. Sinclair hasn’t been found yet... but there’s news, the Pierce Family has mobilized a lot of manpower to search too, it’s said Second Young Master Pierce fell with Ms. Sinclair..."
Felix Kendall paused slightly, "You mean, Declan Pierce?"
Elsewhere.
Janne Hayes led people to the riverbank.
He picked up a piece of white fabric from the ground.
This top-quality material, made for custom clothing, was all too familiar to Janne Hayes.
The heart that had been suspended all night finally felt a bit of comfort.
"President Pierce and Ms. Sinclair should be nearby, search the area thoroughly!"
When Tanya Sinclair opened her eyes, she found no sign of Declan Pierce beside her.
She jerked up immediately.
The wooden stick barring the door had already been moved. Tanya Sinclair’s heart tightened. As soon as she got off the straw mat and dashed out the door, she saw Declan Pierce, using a wooden stick as a crutch in one hand, holding a bowl of noodles in the other.
Behind him was the kitchen with an earthen stove.
"Awake, have something to eat." Declan Pierce handed her the bowl, his face revealing nothing.
Seeing Declan Pierce unharmed, Tanya Sinclair relaxed significantly; she was indeed famished.
"Have you eaten?" Tanya Sinclair asked Declan Pierce.
He chuckled lightly, "I have. Conditions here are limited, I only found some noodles, so make do."
Tanya Sinclair took the bowl and quickly finished eating.
"Give me the bowl." Declan Pierce reached to take it.
Tanya Sinclair evaded him.
"You go rest, don’t move around."
She returned the bowl to the kitchen and was shocked to find someone lying on the ground.
The shaved head was too conspicuous.
Tanya Sinclair carefully approached, discovering the person wasn’t dead, but their tendons had been cut in both hands and feet!
Her first thought was that they were fighting amongst themselves!
To her surprise, the shaved head immediately started banging his head against the ground, begging for mercy upon seeing her.
But his speech was garbled, and when he opened his mouth, Tanya Sinclair saw blood-stained teeth—almost all knocked out!
Tanya Sinclair was startled, stepping backward, nearly tripping over something, only to be steadied by a strong, broad hand.
Looking back, she saw Declan Pierce behind her and instantly pulled him to leave.
"It must have been that Brock, they must be infighting, he was too ruthless! These desperadoes are inhuman, we have to leave immediately!"
However, Declan Pierce held her hand firmly, not moving.
At this moment, the shaved head on the ground caught sight of Declan Pierce, reacting as if he had seen a ghost, terrified, struggling to squirm his body and desperately crawl forward, seemingly trying to distance himself.
Through the reaction of the shaved head, Tanya Sinclair belatedly realized something.
She looked up at Declan Pierce somewhat shaken...
