Wrong Love, Final Goodbye: She'll Never Look Back
Chapter 277: Mistresses Deserve a Bad End!
CHAPTER 277: CHAPTER 277: MISTRESSES DESERVE A BAD END!
Hawthorne Manor.
There are two new maids in the house, one is Mrs. Sterling and the other is Mrs. Thorne, both personally chosen by the old lady.
Mrs. Sterling is cooking in the kitchen.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Thorne stays in the living room, seemingly tidying up, but her eyes never leave Cindy Lynn and Joy on the sofa.
Joy is playing with the building blocks in her hands.
"Mommy Cindy, I ran into my brother after school today," Joy said sulkily, "But my brother ignored me, and so did Abby... Do you know Abby?"
She grabs a block with her small hand and looks up at Cindy Lynn.
"She is the thinnest girl in our class. She used to be bullied, and I would protect her. But lately, she hasn’t been friendly with me."
Cindy Lynn is somewhat absent-minded.
Her mind is filled with thoughts of Tanya Sinclair not being dead, and on top of that, her mother Shelly Sullivan had also lost contact this afternoon! Now, she doesn’t even have anyone to turn to for advice!
"You can just play with other kids," Cindy Lynn casually brushes off.
Joy pouts, "Of course, I have lots of other good friends. I play with Erin and Chloe; we’re real friends. I only played with Abby because I felt sorry for her. If she doesn’t want to play with me, then forget it!"
Joy’s voice trails off as she speaks.
In truth, what hurts her most is that her brother suddenly ignored her.
Ever since that day at the Ferris Wheel Park, her brother hasn’t come home.
Joy only remembers that day when she saw a clown with red hair, then she ran toward the clown, and later, Mommy Cindy appeared, smelling so sweet, and she felt so sleepy.
When Joy woke up, she found herself in the car going home with Mommy Cindy...
As for Tanya Sinclair, her biological mother, Joy lowers her head, not daring to mention her in front of Mommy Cindy.
Because she can only choose one, and since she chose Mommy Cindy, she can neither mention nor see Tanya Sinclair anymore.
Her brother must have chosen their biological mother...
The more Joy thinks about it, the worse she feels.
She suddenly stands up and kicks down the castle she had painstakingly built.
"Joy, what are you doing?" Cindy Lynn, already in a bad mood and on edge these days, is startled by the sudden noise and nearly loses her temper.
But soon, Cindy Lynn notices the surveillance cameras on the ceiling above and forces herself to hold back.
She frowns and reprimands, "Joy, look at the mess you made! When your daddy comes home and sees this, he’s definitely going to scold you!"
"Daddy loves me the most; he won’t scold me. We have maids at home; aren’t maids hired to clean up for us?" Joy retorts confidently, "Anyway, Aunt Yvonne said so last time!"
Yvonne Hawthorne is an idiot too!
She even taught Joy to talk back to her!
Was it just her imagination, or did Cindy feel that after stopping the use of Hypnotic to control Joy, she hasn’t been as obedient as before? Was it because the Hypnotic was used too heavily before?
"Mommy Cindy, I need to go to the bathroom."
Hearing this, Mrs. Thorne immediately steps forward, "Joy, let Mrs. Thorne take you to the bathroom. Ms. Lynn, Mr. Hawthorne will be back soon. I’m not sure which set of home clothes he will wear; could you find it for me?"
Mrs. Thorne smiles and speaks politely.
But Cindy Lynn isn’t a fool. She knows these two maids were specifically hired by Vincent Hawthorne to prevent her from being alone with Joy.
After all, the bathroom is the only place in the entire house without surveillance cameras!
Not only that, but when she went to pick up Joy, there was not only a driver but also bodyguards! They almost watched her the whole time and wouldn’t allow her to make any small moves!
Even the cake she brought for Joy was taken away.
In the house, there were over a dozen cameras that she could see with the naked eye! It was like a 360-degree surveillance with no blind spots of her every move... Vincent Hawthorne was now guarding her like a thief!
"Okay, I’ll go look for it in a while," Cindy Lynn replies.
She watches Mrs. Thorne lead Joy into the bathroom, her hands hanging by her side clenched tightly.
She hadn’t expected that bitch Tanya Sinclair to be so lucky to survive!
Cindy Lynn was about to go upstairs when Vincent Hawthorne’s figure entered from outside the door.
"Vincent," Cindy Lynn immediately steps up, trying to take Vincent Hawthorne’s coat.
But Vincent Hawthorne just gives her a cold glance, handing the coat to Mrs. Sterling walking in behind him.
Mrs. Sterling respectfully says, "Sir, the meal is ready; you can wash your hands and eat now."
Joy also comes out of the bathroom at this moment.
"Daddy!" She runs towards Vincent Hawthorne.
Facing his daughter, Vincent Hawthorne shows a trace of a smile, squatting down to embrace Joy fully.
"My little princess, how was school today?"
She was fine until he asked, and then Joy feels aggrieved, leaning on his shoulder, tears welling up in her eyes.
"Daddy, brother ignored me..."
Cindy Lynn tries to comfort her, "Joy, your brother wouldn’t ignore you. Your brother has always loved you the most."
She reaches out to pull Vincent Hawthorne, "Vincent, how about we take Joy this weekend, have Aunt Tawny bring over Caden, and we all go camping as a family? It’s been so long since we last went out together."
Vincent Hawthorne coldly brushes her off, "Let’s eat first."
With that, he carries Joy to the dining table and sits down.
Mrs. Thorne and Mrs. Sterling, both loyal to the old lady, are well aware of Cindy Lynn’s character. Although they say nothing, they exchange a knowing and gloating glance.
Serves her right!
The homewrecker gets what she deserves!
Cindy Lynn swallows her grievances and approaches the dining table, pulling out a chair to sit down.
"Don’t sit there," suddenly says Vincent Hawthorne without looking at Cindy Lynn, in a commanding tone with no room for negotiation, "sit elsewhere."
That had been Tanya Sinclair’s seat.
Cindy Lynn holds back her anger and sits next to Joy.
As usual, she serves Joy some soup and attempts to serve Vincent Hawthorne, only to have him subtly evade it.
The meal becomes increasingly unpleasant for Cindy Lynn.
After the meal, Vincent Hawthorne instructs Mrs. Thorne and Mrs. Sterling to pack some essentials for Joy and send her back to the Hawthorne Estate.
"Joy, your grandparents, aunt, and great-grandma all miss you. Would you like to spend the night with them?" Vincent Hawthorne gently asks his daughter.
"Okay," Joy readily agrees.
Mrs. Thorne and Mrs. Sterling understand that Vincent Hawthorne is deliberately sending them away, so they quickly pack Joy’s things and leave with her.
Once the main door closes, only Cindy Lynn and Vincent Hawthorne remain in the house.
Cindy Lynn approaches him, "Vincent, didn’t you go see Tanya Sinclair? How is she? Are her injuries serious?"
Vincent Hawthorne just gives her a weary glance, his eyes filled with fatigue.
"Cindy Lynn, haven’t you had enough pretending? Do you actually think I’m stupid?"
Vincent’s tall, exhausted figure sinks into the sofa, looking up at Cindy Lynn’s sweet and innocent face, realizing he had never truly seen through her.
Cindy Lynn anxiously protests, "Vincent, I didn’t..."
But Vincent Hawthorne isn’t listening. He retrieves a document and tosses it in front of Cindy Lynn.
"Look at this; if there’s no problem, sign your name."
"What is this?" Cindy Lynn asks in confusion, reaching out to take it.
Vincent closes his eyes, rubbing his throbbing temples, "The next five days are critical for the group’s financing. As my fiancée, you cannot have a scandal. But after five days, I want you to confess to your crimes! Admit to the police all those wicked things you did to Tanya Sinclair and Joy!"
"Your father, Sean Lynn, is already in prison. He offended someone somehow, and the financial situation of the company under his name is now under investigation. Most of the Lynn Family’s money and assets are currently frozen, unreachable to you." Vincent Hawthorne slowly looks at Cindy Lynn, noticing her trembling hands clutching the document, her face pale with tears rolling down.
Vincent purses his lips, feeling a pang of reluctance towards Cindy Lynn.
"In the agreement, I’ve prepared three overseas properties and a fifty million cash account for you. It should be enough to ensure your life after your release."
No matter what, Cindy Lynn had been by his side all these years.
More importantly, she had once risked her life to save him, giving her all to love him. She even chose to undergo sterilization to marry him properly!
How many women would do such a thing for a man?
Despite all her misdeeds, Vincent Hawthorne believes that at the very least, her love for him was genuine...
