CHAPTER 51: CHAPTER 51: MATCHING OUTFITS WITH CINDY LYNN

On her way to Marinus Park, Tanya called Old Lady Hawthorne and first shared about her eye recovery.

The old lady was quite relieved, "Truly blessed by the gods, my precious granddaughter-in-law is a fortunate and good child!"

Tanya pulled the corners of her mouth bitterly.

If she were truly blessed, how could she marry Vincent Hawthorne and endure such hardships?

Naturally, she wouldn’t say this to Old Lady Hawthorne. Among the entire Hawthorne family, the old lady was the only one who genuinely liked her and treated her well.

"Grandma, I’m going back to work at the company on Monday. The two kids at home need a new nanny, and I’d like to trouble you to arrange someone. Just to prepare three meals and look after the two children."

"No problem, I’ll have Aunt Flora pick a capable person from my courtyard to go over," the old lady agreed readily. "Tanya, are you at home right now?"

Tanya replied honestly, "I’m on my way to Marinus Park..."

Beside her, Aunt Flora suddenly handed over a tablet with photos sent by Joy, showing her, Caden, and Vincent Hawthorne at the entrance of Marinus Park. Joy was dressed like a little princess, and Caden looked exceptionally handsome.

Vincent stood beside the kids, dressed casually and looking extraordinarily charming, smiling gently at the camera.

Joy: [Great-grandma, we’re out playing.]

The old lady couldn’t help but beam with joy and love as she looked at the precious great-grandchildren in the photo.

Needless to say, Tanya was definitely going to Marinus Park to meet up with them.

The old lady set her mind at ease. She had been worried that Tanya’s five-year coma would cause issues between her and Vincent, but it seemed that her worries were unfounded.

The old lady laughed, "Good, good, go and have fun. Enjoy yourselves."

Tanya was about to say she was going to meet a good friend, but before she could speak, she heard the old lady’s words.

She swallowed her words and smiled. "Then, grandma, you rest well and remember to take your medicine on time. I’ll find time to visit you for a check-up in a few days."

The old lady sighed, "As long as you and Vincent are well, it’s better than any medicine. It would be best if you could soon give me another great-grandchild!"

Tanya couldn’t respond to this. How could she turn back with Vincent now? She could only smile and say perfunctorily, "Grandma, you don’t have to worry about me. I’ll handle it. Take care of yourself."

In the old lady’s ears, she just thought Tanya was shy.

She chuckled, "Good, good, I won’t nag anymore."

After hanging up, the old lady felt at ease.

"I really was overthinking. I thought that little vixen Cindy Lynn could really take the opportunity to seduce Vincent away. But..." The old lady’s smile faded slightly, a bit worried, "Tanya is innocent and soft-hearted. Who knows what tricks Cindy might pull in the future!"

The old lady had an idea after a brief thought.

She instructed Aunt Flora, "Flora, on behalf of the major shareholder, issue a notice to Zenith Group’s human resources department..."

...

Tanya got out of the car, and Mia hurried over, barely catching her breath.

"Ms. Tanya, sorry to keep you waiting! Ms. Daisy’s event has already started. She’s waiting backstage, so she couldn’t come personally."

"It’s okay, I can find my way. Thank you for making the trip." Seeing Mia’s sweaty face, Tanya felt a bit guilty.

"It’s nothing." Mia led Tanya forward, her round face flushed, looking full of energy, "By the way, Ms. Tanya, you’re really amazing! After you helped me with my computer, it has been running so smoothly! A friend of mine who knows computers said you installed some super awesome system, called Z..."

Tanya: "Z Times."

Z Times was a top firewall system she had developed one summer vacation in college with a friend from the computer science department named Julian Poole.

Later, a tech company became interested in Z Times and wanted to collaborate deeply with them, but Tanya was not interested, so she withdrew. Julian wanted to split the collaboration fee with her, but she refused.

She was well aware of Julian’s situation back then and knew how much he needed the money.

To avoid hurting his pride, she said, ’This money isn’t given to you for nothing. It’s my investment in you, Julian. When you start a big company, don’t forget to give me shares.’

Recalling the past, Tanya was momentarily lost.

She chuckled nostalgically but with a deep sense of helplessness and regret.

After college, she chose to get married, dedicating all her time and energy to Vincent Hawthorne, losing contact with her former friends.

She wondered how Julian was doing now.

"Yes, Z Times!" Mia was excited, "Ms. Tanya, how do you have permission for this system? I heard the installation threshold is very high!"

"Oh... well, I was one of the first trial members of Z Times and had installation permission." Tanya fabricated earnestly.

After all, she couldn’t very well say it was because she was one of the founders.

Seven years ago, when she left, she had already handed Z Times over to Julian. The program no longer had anything to do with her.

Fortunately, Mia was a computer novice, and she vaguely believed Tanya’s explanation without further questioning.

The brand event had already begun, and Daisy Bell had a large following of loyal fans. The scene was bustling with media and a throng of people surrounding the area.

Mia led Tanya to the front row of the VIP section. Daisy Bell appeared on stage in a black fringed gown, and as soon as she appeared, the fans screamed continuously.

"Hello, everyone, I’m Daisy Bell."

Tanya looked up at the radiant star Daisy Bell on stage, filled with pride and a bit of heartache. During the five years Tanya lay in a coma as a vegetative patient, Daisy had struggled alone in the entertainment industry; it must have been tough...

Tanya took a dozen photos of Daisy on stage. Considering the large crowd of fans present, she quietly left before the event ended.

As she walked forward, she messaged Daisy, arranging to meet at the pavilion in Marinus Park.

The south gate of Marinus Park was only a five-minute walk from the event location.

Walking alone through the south gate, Tanya looked around expectantly, hoping by chance to see Caden and Joy.

Unexpectedly, she was lucky today. Not far from entering the gate, she spotted Caden’s figure at the entrance of The Coral & Jellyfish Pavilion!

Caden had his small hands behind his back, looking up at the various coral specimens displayed at the entrance.

Vincent was standing nearby, on the phone.

Just seeing her son’s figure softened Tanya’s heart as if filled with cotton candy. She lifted her phone to capture the moment, but suddenly, Joy’s figure leaped into view.

She was holding two colorful ice creams, dressed in a blue princess dress, bouncing to her brother’s side, handing one ice cream to him.

The scene was incredibly heartwarming.

Tanya’s smile widened as she pressed the shutter, but then Cindy Lynn’s figure suddenly came into view.

Tanya’s pupils constricted.

She awkwardly lowered her phone.

In her view, Cindy, in a blue spaghetti strap dress, leaned over to wipe the ice cream from Joy’s mouth, and Joy looked up at her, smiling sweetly and obediently.

Tanya silently tightened her grip on the phone, feeling its edges dig into her palm.

So this was why Joy insisted on wearing the blue dress; she had planned to match with Cindy’s mother-daughter outfit...

The two striking blues, like the sharpest blades, pierced her heart, making it bleed.
