CHAPTER 63: CHAPTER 63: THEY’RE ALL SICK

Vincent Hawthorne lifted his gaze to Tanya Sinclair, the initial trace of heartache in his eyes vanished.

First, she hit his sister Yvonne, and now she openly slapped Nina Leslie! Even Cindy Lynn, she couldn’t tolerate her, leading the elder to directly fire her!

Vincent Hawthorne furrowed his brows tightly.

"Tanya, you’re becoming increasingly unfamiliar to me."

He couldn’t understand why Tanya Sinclair had become so vengeful since waking up. She was downright domineering and overbearing!

Tanya Sinclair knew Vincent Hawthorne too well.

Just by seeing his disappointed frowning face, she knew what he was thinking.

"..."

She lowered her eyes and glanced at her arm bearing the five-fingered bloodstains, finding it ironic with a chill in her heart.

In Vincent’s view, if someone slapped her, she should just offer the other cheek to be hit for him to be satisfied.

All those years, she constantly humbled herself, endured everything, gave up her dreams, gave up her life, and it was all just to win the love of such a mediocre man.

How unbelievably foolish!

But now was not the time to flip the table.

She raised her eyes to Vincent Hawthorne in front of her, intending to say something to ease the tension, yet she first noticed the tie on Vincent’s chest.

Having taken care of Vincent Hawthorne wholeheartedly for so many years, attending to every detail had become ingrained in Tanya Sinclair’s bones; she couldn’t change it for the time being.

At a glance, she could tell that the tie on Vincent’s neck wasn’t the one he left home with that morning.

Moreover, the way the tie was knotted had changed.

From the simplest knot to a Windsor knot.

Out of the corner of her eye, Tanya Sinclair noticed a ribbon peeking from Cindy Lynn’s waist, matching in color with Vincent Hawthorne’s tie, with identical lotus patterns.

"..."

The words Tanya Sinclair had turned into bitter coffee, saturating her tongue.

She suddenly felt utterly meaningless.

At this moment, she didn’t even want to pretend with him anymore.

Too disgusting.

She found him repulsive!

"I’ve been conducting experiments all morning, and I’m very tired. I want to rest now. Can we talk about this later?" Tanya Sinclair said, not even wanting to glance at Vincent Hawthorne as she turned to leave.

"..."

Vincent Hawthorne stared at her intently.

Tanya Sinclair’s reaction was too calm, so calm it made him inexplicably uneasy.

Even though she was right in front of him, it felt as if he might lose her in the next moment.

"...Hold on!"

Before he could fully process the thought, Vincent had already darted forward, extending his hand, desperately clutching Tanya Sinclair’s arm.

He held her tightly, his fingers pressing directly on the wounds scratched open by Nina Leslie earlier. Tanya, usually able to endure pain, couldn’t help but frown at this moment. She struggled a little, but Vincent Hawthorne had no intention of letting go.

Was this a way to avenge Cindy Lynn’s friend?

Tanya Sinclair simply gave up struggling and turned back, "Vincent, you’re hurting me."

"..."

It was only then that Vincent Hawthorne realized his loss of composure, awkwardly loosening his grip.

His fingertips felt warm and sticky; when he looked down, he noticed his fingers were stained with Tanya Sinclair’s blood.

He was visibly taken aback, just about to explain when Cindy Lynn took out an antiseptic swab from her bag and rushed to Tanya Sinclair’s side.

She worriedly said, "Ms. Tanya, your wound is still bleeding. It needs to be treated."

Tanya Sinclair was thoroughly disgusted, "No need."

She shook off Cindy Lynn’s hand, meaning not to use any force, yet Cindy Lynn stumbled back a few steps as if pushed by the wind, almost falling.

But with Vincent Hawthorne there, how could he let her fall?

He promptly reached out to steady Cindy Lynn by her waist, helping her regain her balance.

"Tanya, this time you’ve really gone too far!" Vincent’s eyes showed reproach.

"It’s not, President Hawthorne." Cindy Lynn immediately spoke on Tanya Sinclair’s behalf, "I stumbled on my own, really it has nothing to do with Ms. Tanya."

"Secretary Lynn, you don’t have to take all the blame on yourself." Vincent Hawthorne’s tone sounded like scolding, yet his eyes clearly showed affection.

First, she lost her job because of Tanya Sinclair, and now she was being treated so poorly, yet Cindy Lynn still took the blame herself!

In contrast, Tanya Sinclair seemed more and more petty, unfit for public settings.

Tanya Sinclair was truly tired of this charade.

She didn’t know if this was their idea of fun, or if Vincent Hawthorne was truly this foolish!

But it didn’t matter anymore.

She didn’t care.

But Tanya Sinclair also knew that before securing the cooperation with Westgard Pharmaceuticals, she didn’t have the leverage to face off and demand a divorce from Vincent Hawthorne.

Now was the most critical time, she had to endure!

"Vincent, since Secretary Lynn brought in the current batch of people in the R&D department, I would like to establish another R&D sub-department. Anyone willing to follow Secretary Lynn can go there," Tanya Sinclair suggested generously.

If Vincent cared so much for Cindy Lynn and wanted her to be the R&D manager, she might as well let him have his way.

After all, the current R&D department was no longer the one she had initially led.

However, Vincent Hawthorne responded with an inexplicable cold laugh.

"Tanya, do you really think I know nothing?"

Scheming behind his back to have the elder fire Cindy Lynn, now she wanted to play the good person before him.

He never realized that Tanya Sinclair could have such a dual nature!

Tanya Sinclair herself thought it was baffling.

"Vincent, what on earth are you talking about?" she asked directly.

Still playing dumb!

Vincent grew increasingly displeased, frowning coldly, about to clarify, when Cindy Lynn’s phone alarm went off, reminding them of the time.

She approached close to Vincent’s ear, whispering softly.

"President Hawthorne. You’re scheduled to have lunch with President Fanny of Prosperity Bank at noon; it’s getting late. Time to leave."

"..."

Vincent Hawthorne cast one last disappointed glance at Tanya Sinclair before turning away.

Of course, Cindy Lynn quickly followed him.

Nina Leslie, bringing up the rear, turned back to give Tanya Sinclair a smug, triumphant look.

Ha, of course President Hawthorne cherishes Cindy the most; Tanya Sinclair won’t be arrogant for much longer!

Tanya Sinclair: "..."

They’re all insane.

She turned and walked towards her office.
