CHAPTER 86: CHAPTER 86: TONIGHT, STAY IN THE ROOM AND SLEEP

Serena Holloway: [Boss, you should be wary of Cindy Lynn.]

Tanya Sinclair looked at the reminder sent by Serena Holloway. She typed a line of words but deleted them.

In the end, she only replied with ’Okay,’ turned off her phone, and tossed it aside, forcing herself to calm down and focus on work.

Actually, even without Cindy Lynn, there would still be Cindy Langdon and Cindy Wallace... Ultimately, it was because Vincent Hawthorne didn’t love her enough, and didn’t have enough self-control!

Right now, Tanya Sinclair only hoped everything would go smoothly on Saturday. As long as she secured the partnership with Westgard Pharmaceuticals on her own behalf, she would have the leverage to discuss divorce with Vincent Hawthorne.

Tanya Sinclair stayed at the office working overtime until ten o’clock at night. By the time she returned to the villa, it was already half-past ten.

As she entered, she happened to bump into Aunt Tawny coming out of the kitchen. Aunt Tawny was carrying two glasses of milk, intending to bring them upstairs to Caden and Joy.

"Mrs. Sinclair, you’re working till this time." Seeing Tanya Sinclair just back from overtime, Aunt Tawny’s eyes were full of empathy. "How about I make you some supper?"

"No need, Aunt Tawny, you should rest." Tanya Sinclair took the milk from her, "I’ll take it up to them."

Aunt Tawny also knew the two kids, especially Joy, weren’t very close to Tanya Sinclair. She hoped they’d have more opportunities to bond, so she promptly handed the milk to Tanya Sinclair.

"Mrs. Sinclair, there’s no need to rush." Aunt Tawny comforted, "Take it slowly, you have plenty of time to bond with the kids."

Tanya Sinclair thought, once she officially brought up the divorce with Vincent Hawthorne, that would be hard to say.

But naturally, she wouldn’t share this with Aunt Tawny.

Tanya Sinclair carried the milk upstairs.

The door to the kids’ room was slightly ajar. She gently pushed it open and entered. Caden was sitting on the bed, looking at a programming book, while Joy was not there. The door leading to the small balcony was open; the swing on the balcony was swaying, revealing Joy’s little feet.

Upon hearing footsteps, Caden didn’t look up, but politely said, "Thanks, Aunt Tawny."

"If there’s anything you don’t understand, you can always ask Mom," Tanya Sinclair said gently.

Only then did Caden look up, seeing Tanya Sinclair’s smiling face, he felt unexpectedly nervous.

"...You just finished work?" Caden awkwardly asked out of concern for her.

Tanya Sinclair felt like the day’s fatigue vanished.

"Yes, Mommy will be very busy this week. I won’t be able to join you for dinner at night."

"Oh..." Caden took the milk Tanya Sinclair handed over, finishing it in two gulps.

"Don’t stay up too late, get some rest, darling." Tanya Sinclair said, then carried the other glass of milk, intending to go to the balcony to find Joy. She didn’t expect Caden to respond.

Just as she stepped forward, she suddenly heard Caden’s voice behind her.

Muffled and awkward.

"Goodnight."

Tanya Sinclair was overjoyed, almost spilling the milk she was holding out of excitement.

She turned back; Caden had already pulled the quilt up to cover his head, leaving only a little hand waving at her.

Tanya Sinclair’s heart was melting from the cuteness.

As she approached the balcony, she heard Joy’s coquettish voice as soon as she reached the doorway.

"Cindy Mommy, can you come pick me up with Daddy tomorrow? Daddy gave you a diamond bracelet, I’ve got a little gift for you too..."

Tanya Sinclair tightened her grip on the milk glass, her nails pressing hard until they turned white.

Joy, happily swinging and chatting on the phone with Cindy Lynn, upon hearing footsteps, turned her head and saw Tanya Sinclair approaching. Her little face immediately fell.

She turned her back, using her little hand to cover her mouth, whispering, "Goodnight then, Cindy Mommy."

After hanging up the phone, she jumped off the swing directly and walked up to Tanya Sinclair.

Remembering the lesson from the morning, she dared not throw the milk cup this time, though she spoke to Tanya Sinclair in a bad mood, "Teacher says to respect kids’ privacy. Next time you enter our room, can you knock first?"

After saying this, she turned on her heel, swinging her little braid, heading back into the room, climbing onto her princess bed, back facing Tanya Sinclair, not moving at all.

What a nuisance; if it weren’t for this bad woman suddenly coming over, she could have talked to Cindy Mommy a bit longer.

Today, Cindy Mommy came with Daddy to pick her up from school; she felt so proud!

Her friends were stunned, saying Cindy Mommy was the prettiest mom in class, even prettier than she seemed in the video!

If it weren’t for this bad woman, Cindy Mommy might even marry Daddy and become her real mom!

"..."

Tanya Sinclair placed the milk on Joy’s bedside quietly, "Joy, drink up and brush your teeth. Otherwise, you’ll get cavities."

After speaking, Tanya Sinclair turned and left, closing the door behind her.

Downstairs, she saw the light from Vincent Hawthorne’s study was on. He must be inside, as she really didn’t want to run into him. Planning to take the opportunity to grab her pajamas and clothes for tomorrow from the master bedroom, she decided to sleep in her study tonight.

However, when Tanya Sinclair pushed open the master bedroom door, she saw the suit pants and shirt Vincent Hawthorne wore today lazily thrown over the rack by the bathroom door, and heard the sound of running water from inside the bathroom.

He was showering.

Tanya Sinclair quickly stepped into the walk-in closet, wanting to get her clothes and leave before Vincent Hawthorne came out.

Just as she exited the walk-in closet, the water stopped, and Vincent Hawthorne pushed open the bathroom door and came out.

He was wearing a bathrobe, loosely tied at the waist. The collar was partly open, revealing his toned chest, with water droplets sliding along the muscles toward his defined abs.

Vincent Hawthorne has always maintained his physique and appearance well, and indeed, just by his appearance, he was enough to be alluring.

Surprised to see Tanya Sinclair appear, he noticed the clothes she was holding, frowned slightly, and walked toward her.

"Just got back, where are you planning to go?"

The fragrance of the shower gel was absorbed by his body heat, and the heat washed over her.

They had been intimate before, even having children together, Tanya Sinclair once had a physical attraction to Vincent Hawthorne, but now, his body disgusted her.

She found him filthy, perhaps he was embracing or kissing Cindy Lynn today...

Tanya Sinclair clenched the clothes in her hand, suppressing the nausea rising from her stomach.

But her actions made Vincent Hawthorne think she was shy and nervous.

He silently chuckled.

In bed, Tanya Sinclair had always been naive. Facing him, she easily became shy and tense. Initially, Vincent Hawthorne found it amusing, but over time, he considered it frustrating how she couldn’t loosen up.

Maybe because there’s been too much time in between, Vincent Hawthorne somewhat missed her awkward naivety.

Tanya Sinclair only wanted to escape now. She forced herself to say, "I still have some work unfinished. I’ll be in the study tonight..."

The rest stuck in her throat.

Vincent Hawthorne’s warm fingertips lightly brushed against her trembling face.

His gaze deepened, his voice hoarse, carrying a tempting tone, "Stay in this room tonight."

His large hand slid to her chin, gently lifting it, forcing Tanya Sinclair to look directly at him.

The tremor in her eyes, to Vincent Hawthorne, was a seductive charm.

Tanya Sinclair struggled, forcing a dry smile.

"Vincent, I still have work to handle..."

The hint of refusal amidst acceptance has a certain intrigue.

Vincent Hawthorne grinned slightly, not retreating but advancing.

He pinned her against the wall, leaned in, the heat of his breath on her neck.

Tanya Sinclair turned her face away rigidly, goosebumps arising.

"No." Her hands pushed against Vincent Hawthorne’s chest, stiffly stating, "I haven’t showered after the day of experimentation."

She remembered he was a clean freak.

Vincent Hawthorne chuckled, "That’s alright, I’ll help you wash later."

"..."

Tanya Sinclair was on the verge of exploding.

Vincent Hawthorne’s hand already sliding down to her collar, fingertips gently unbuttoning the first button...
