CHAPTER 11: CHAPTER 11: I AGREED TO EVERYTHING YOU ASKED

Vincent knew May was lying; how could she easily hand over such an important Jade Pendant to Adam? However, she was the first woman to dare lie to him three times.

"Yes, young master." Jacob responded and then came over to drag Adam off the ground, heading straight to the top floor.

May watched helplessly as Jacob took the person away, instantly terrified and turning pale, unsure of what to do.

Although Zenith Villa had only three floors, its height was greater than eight stories of an average building. If Adam were thrown off, even if he didn’t die, he would be crippled.

"No, no, please let him go." May suddenly broke down and desperately begged Vincent.

Vincent looked at the woman in front of him without any expression, his powerful gaze like a leopard staring at its prey in its last struggle, chilling anyone to the bone.

"Then hand over what I want." The words devoid of any warmth caused May’s last bit of resistance to vanish instantly.

"The Jade Pendant, the Jade Pendant is indeed in my hand." May closed her eyes in despair, speaking to Vincent in a dejected tone: "I will give you the Jade Pendant, do not harm Adam."

Vincent’s face turned even darker as he looked at the woman who finally compromised, a gleam of mockery flashing in his eyes: "You really are willing to sacrifice for that man."

"He is my boyfriend..." May clenched her fingers in defiance and spoke through gritted teeth.

"Speak, where is the Jade Pendant?" Vincent snorted coldly, his tone slightly impatient.

"You first let them release Adam, I will naturally give you the Jade Pendant." Adam was already taken to the top floor by Jacob, and May was very worried they might accidentally kill Adam, so she forced herself to confront Vincent.

Vincent’s displeasure grew more intense; this woman actually dared to defy him like this for Adam?

"Hand over the Jade Pendant first!"

"Let Adam go first, or else you’ll never get the Jade Pendant!" May stiffened, confronting Vincent to the death.

The situation suddenly became tense; they were like two opposing beasts, neither willing to give in.

After a full minute passed, Vincent finally sighed and instructed the person next to him: "Go up and tell Jacob not to make a move yet."

The servant beside him heard this and quickly turned around to notify Jacob upstairs.

"You can speak now." Vincent’s eyes narrowed slightly, transmitting dangerous signals that made May shiver involuntarily.

The recent confrontation with Vincent had basically exhausted all her courage; Vincent was like a beast that could lash out and devour at any moment, making her shiver even from a distance.

She did not understand why Vincent was so angry; everything was fine that morning.

"The Jade Pendant is at my house; you can have someone bring my mother’s ashes." May sighed softly, knowing she couldn’t outmaneuver Vincent, so she resignedly spoke.

Vincent frowned, not understanding why she needed her mother’s ashes: "I warn you, do not deceive me a third time!"

A third time? She seemed to have only lied to him once, had she deceived him twice somehow?

May looked at Vincent speechlessly and had no choice but to tell him: "The Jade Pendant is hidden in my mother’s ashes because my father and sister have always wanted to find it, and I had no place to hide it, so I hid it there."

A living person would naturally avoid the ashes of the dead; no one would think that May would hide something so important there.
