CHAPTER 25: CHAPTER 25: WEDDING DATE APPROACHING FAST

"Wait... what do you mean by this? Get married in three days, are we not going to look for the Jade Pendant?"

"Is your brain full of mush? Don’t you know where the Jade Pendant is?"

Vincent felt powerless by May’s silliness and explained helplessly, "Getting married in three days perfectly serves to stall the old man, doesn’t it?"

May scratched her head, feeling a bit confused. Although what he said made some sense, why did she feel something was off?

"Then... in three days, we’ll still need to find the Jade Pendant, right?"

Dragging this out isn’t a solution, right? We need to give the old man an explanation about the Jade Pendant, don’t we?

"You don’t need to worry about that, I’ve got a plan."

If it weren’t for Logan throwing him a curveball today, catching him off guard, he could’ve kept the issue of the Jade Pendant under wraps. However, since things are like this now, he’ll find a way to deal with it.

As for how to handle it, the silly woman in front of him doesn’t need to know too much, lest she cause trouble later.

While showering in the bathroom at night, May suddenly thought of a serious question. She already got her marriage license with Vincent, which means they are legally married now.

When they weren’t married, Vincent even slept in the same bed as her. Now as legal spouses, should she get on the bed or not?

Taking her sweet time, she spent over an hour in the bathroom before coming out with a brave face. The moment she opened the door, she saw Vincent lying on the bed, watching something with a laptop.

His broad robe faintly revealed his sexy and firm chest muscles, making May’s face blush and her heartbeat quicken, affecting her walk.

If she hadn’t had contact with him, she might’ve been fooled by this jerk’s charming appearance. However, pity her, she had witnessed firsthand what being a wolf in sheep’s clothing meant.

Upon hearing the bathroom door open, Vincent glanced at her, then at the empty space beside him, "Come and sleep!"

May twisted her fingers, weakly protesting to Vincent, "We have a prenuptial agreement, you can’t touch me."

"Did I say I was going to touch you?" Vincent snorted without lifting his head, criticizing her figure, "Your chest is as flat as a bun, even if I grab two at once, I’d still think they are too small."

"..." Did I ask you to grab them? If you think they are small, go grab Melanie’s. She’s big, like a cow."

Suddenly remembering the sexy pajamas in the closet, May’s heart sank, "Melanie’s chest is big; must feel great, right?"

Vincent looked at her, clearly displeased with her earlier words, "I haven’t touched her."

Haven’t touched her? Haven’t your bedroom closet has her pajamas? Are you fooling a ghost?

"That sheer silk nightgown, don’t tell me it’s something you prepared for yourself..."

"Bang!" Vincent slammed the laptop shut, glaring at May with annoyance, "Do you want to be dealt with?"

His angry demeanor was truly frightening, and May was so scared that she shrank her neck, not daring to speak a word.

Perhaps thinking it was their "wedding night," Vincent didn’t want any more conflict. Seeing that May was now subdued, he exhaled lightly and ordered, "Come over and sleep!"

May curled up into a ball, lying at the very edge of the bed, trying to stay as far away as possible from the beast beside her.

"Do you want to fall off?" Seeing the woman’s body already reaching the edge of the bed, just a step away from falling to the floor, Vincent asked in an unpleasant tone.

May dared not respond, she hugged the blanket tightly, remaining motionless.

Suddenly, a sigh came from behind her, and a large hand grabbed her waist, pulling her, along with the blanket, towards the center of the bed.

Just as May awkwardly wanted to speak up, Vincent switched off the bedside lamp abruptly, "Sleep."

A strong and firm hand suddenly reached over, wrapping around her slender waist.

May’s body trembled slightly, instinctively wanting to resist. However, just as she moved, the man behind her deliberately brought his hot chest closer, tightly pressing against her.

May just felt like her heart was pounding wildly.

"Can you... can you move away from me? I feel uncomfortable." May moved uneasily, not realizing that her actions caused the man behind her to freeze.

"Uncomfortable? Where? Need my help?" Vincent’s chin gently rested on her delicate shoulder as he spoke to her ear.

"No, no need. Just keep your distance from me, and I’ll be fine." The room was too quiet, so quiet that they could clearly hear each other’s breaths. May had never been so closely intimate with the opposite sex, feeling a bit resistant.

"There’s only one bed, how far can I stay from you?" The man’s low and husky voice resonated behind her, with hot breaths lightly spraying on the back of May’s neck, filling the room with ambiguity.

May was about to cry. Can he keep his distance? If this continues, instead of him eating her, she might not be able to resist eating him!

"Can you not hold me while sleeping? I’m not used to being held while sleeping." May uneasily wriggled a few times, trying to escape Vincent’s hold, but his arms only tightened further, making it impossible for her to break free.

"Then start getting used to it from today." The man not only had no intention of letting May go, but dominantly demanded her.

How can one get used to this?

A gentle grab from the large hand, and May’s head was suddenly lifted up. In the next instant, she was swept into the embrace of a strong arm, lying snugly.

"Sleep." Vincent adjusted their position slightly, stopped speaking, and then closed his eyes to rest.

May blankly raised her head, looking at the man’s face above her. From her angle, she could only see Vincent’s handsome chin, yet even so, the man beside her was infuriatingly handsome, almost to the point of being obnoxious.

Listening to the man’s slow breaths, May knew he was truly asleep this time.

And really tired, not long after, May slowly closed her eyes as well and fell asleep.

That night, she surprisingly slept well.

Upon waking the next day, May turned her head to see the spot next to her and realized Vincent had left without her knowing.

She reached over to feel the temperature on that side of the bed—it was cold. Seems he woke up pretty early.

Looking at the newly rising sun outside, May quietly admired how disciplined this man’s life was; at least he woke up earlier than she did.

When she got up to wash up in the bathroom, May clearly saw a new set of toiletries, which must have been bought by Vincent for her. What surprised her was that the new toothbrush already had fresh toothpaste on it.

This... did that tyrant do this for her? Impossible, right?
