Young Master Vance Has An Enchanting Wife
Chapter 29: You Asked for This
CHAPTER 29: CHAPTER 29: YOU ASKED FOR THIS
"I wouldn’t, I wouldn’t regret it if you didn’t leave." May’s ears were utterly red with embarrassment under Vincent’s intense gaze, which made her feel uncomfortable all over.
"Let me remind you, bathwater won’t relieve the effect of the drug in your body, so unless you beg me, I won’t touch you."
Vincent slightly bent down and whispered deliberately in her ear, scaring May to the point where she almost slipped underwater.
A few minutes later, May finally couldn’t hold on any longer, her consciousness blurred, and her arm unconsciously wrapped around the man’s neck.
"Remember, you were the one who seduced me!"
The water in the bathtub rippled out wave after wave, landing on the floor, forming circles of ambiguous ripples.
When May was fully conscious again, Vincent was on the phone nearby. She listened for a moment, and it seemed he was asking about her being drugged.
She hugged the blanket, silently watching his figure as he leaned by the window talking on the phone, her heart slowly sinking.
To be fair, this man, although domineering and autocratic, was good to her. If it hadn’t been for him this time, she might have already lost her life.
Thinking about Adam and everything he’d done to her, May couldn’t help but let out a sigh in her heart.
She felt that the love she had persisted with for so long could perhaps be let go from this moment on.
"Awake?" Vincent finished his call and turned his head to see her dazedly hugging the blanket. He put away his phone and turned around to sit by the bed.
He handed over a set of brand new clothes and motioned for her to put them on: "I asked Jacob to buy you new clothes, get up and put them on."
May carefully extended a hand from the blanket to take the clothes from him, then cautiously glanced at him, saying, "Can you go over there?"
"I’ve already seen you countless times, what’s there I can’t see?" He flashed a wicked smile.
"You bastard!"
This scoundrel—she had just been about to see him in a new light, only for him to reveal his devilish nature in a second.
"Forgot to tell you, there are reporters outside, quite a lot actually."
Vincent got up from the bed, glanced out the window, and suddenly spoke to May in a serious tone.
May was taken aback for a moment, suddenly remembering what Melanie had said before leaving. She hesitated and said to Vincent, "Those reporters might have been sent by Melanie on purpose."
"You’re not entirely stupid, you realize it’s your sister setting you up." Vincent glared at May, his voice noticeably scolding: "That kid Adam, are you still thinking about him?"
"No, I won’t anymore!"
Adam, just the thought of him collaborating with her sister against her made May wish she had never known this man.
No matter what his intentions were, she wouldn’t forgive him this time.
The regret in her eyes penetrated Vincent’s heart, making him reluctant to scold her again. With a sigh of helplessness, Vincent said, "Considering you were framed this time, I won’t argue with you. Put on the clothes and come out with me."
Hearing his words, May quickly dressed. The outfit was her favorite style, and the color was a soft blue she loved. It looked beautiful and comfortable on her.
Looking down at the clothes on her, May didn’t know if he had thoughtfully chosen them or if it was just a coincidence that someone bought the style she liked, but she was still very touched: "The clothes are beautiful."
Hearing her sincere admiration, the hostility in Vincent’s eyes dissipated a lot. He turned his head and carefully looked her over, nodding in satisfaction: "Indeed."
With that, he reached out his hand, signaling for her to leave the hotel with him. Just as May obediently placed her hand in his broad palm, she suddenly thought of the reporters outside. She quickly stood still and looked at Vincent, asking, "Um, have the reporters outside left?"
Vincent glanced at her, and instead of answering, he asked, "What? Afraid of embarrassment?"
Those reporters were brought by her sister specifically to get back at her. If they went out, she’d definitely get photographed and, like Melanie, make the headlines.
"Well... yes, a little. Can you have your people get rid of those reporters? I don’t want to be on the front page."
Although getting attention is something one can only long for, she thought she could do without this kind of headline.
Vincent looked down at her and, with lips that had been tightly pressed, slowly flashed a meaningful smile: "Alright, if you beg me, I’ll help you."
May’s face reddened as she hurriedly and reluctantly retorted, "I... I’m doing this for your good too, aren’t I?"
Dreadful, it’s not just me who’s going to be photographed by the reporters. Hmph, I refuse to believe you, Eldest Master Vance, don’t care about your reputation. If it does make the headlines, let’s see who really suffers the embarrassment.
Vincent stroked his chin, seemingly moved by her earlier words. After a short pause, he suddenly bent over and scooped her up horizontally in his arms, startling May.
"W-what are you doing? Put me down?" May suddenly found herself lifted into the air, her face turning pale with fright, and she quickly struggled.
"If you don’t want your face to be caught by those reporters, just stay hidden in my embrace." Vincent tightened his hold on her, his voice low as he instructed.
Oh, this seems like a solution. As long as she covered her face, she wouldn’t be captured by the cameras, right?
May quickly clung to Vincent’s arm, trying her best to hide her face in the crook of his elbow.
As the door opened, May did indeed hear the sound of cameras clicking frantically outside.
"Young Master Vance, who is the girl you’re holding?"
"We heard you’re getting married in three days, is that the woman you’re about to wed?"
"Yes, Young Master Vance, how come you’re meeting this girl in such a shabby hotel? Is there some secret that can’t be told?"
