CHAPTER 33: CHAPTER 33: FROM NOW ON, YOU’RE NOT ALLOWED TO THINK ABOUT HIM

Splashing water quickly soaked his clothes. For someone with mild cleanliness issues, wet clothes were undoubtedly unbearable.

But compared to the discomfort on his body, he was more afraid this silly woman might encounter an accident.

The maze was large. Vincent Vance searched all around but still didn’t see any trace of May Morgan. Many couples around were holding hands, looking intimately close, with some even unable to resist kissing.

Watching these couples kissing, a thought suddenly flashed through Vincent’s mind.

May and Adam often came here to play. Could the two of them have also...

Feeling very upset, he took out his phone and dialed May’s number, but when he called, he didn’t know if it was because the fountain was too loud or for some other reason, May just wouldn’t answer.

By the third call, he suddenly got angry and directly called the city, ordering them to stop all the fountains in the square.

As soon as the fountains stopped, May’s figure immediately appeared before Vincent, realizing that they were only separated by a wall.

Yet that wall’s distance caused Vincent to find her anxiously impatient.

May still looked dumbfounded at the suddenly stopped fountains when a dominant force suddenly gripped her wrist.

"Let’s go home." Vincent, with a gloomy face, pulled May by the hand and turned to leave.

May followed closely, seeing his slightly unhappy face, and smiled at him ingratiatingly: "Are you angry?"

"Who do you think you are? I just don’t bother playing such childish games with you." Vincent didn’t turn his head, but his grip on May’s wrist became tighter. "No wonder you’re so dumb; you are what your company makes you."

May’s eyes widened: "What do you mean?"

She was dumb; if not, she wouldn’t have been deceived by Melanie. But what did he mean by, "you are what your company makes you"? Vincent, do you have any shame...

"Don’t like what you’re hearing?" Vincent turned to look at May, his tone cold, "Or don’t you like me calling Adam a fool?"

May turned her face, feeling uneasy, her expression unusually ugly: "Can we not discuss him?"

"Why not?" Vincent reached out and pinched her delicate chin, his voice low yet devoid of warmth: "Didn’t he often bring you here? Have you ever kissed? How many times? Was it just a peck, or was it more passionate?"

Vincent unconsciously increased the force in his hand, a fire raging in his heart. Seeing the couples in the maze fountain eagerly embracing and kissing, and thinking she might have kissed Adam, unfamiliar negative emotions surged, almost drowning his sanity.

If he could, he truly wished he had raised her by his side from birth, instead of meeting her now.

"What are you doing?" May’s wrist ached from his grasp; she reached out to hit his hand, shouting: "So what if I did kiss him? What right do you have to question me like this? You married me only for that Jade Pendant. What right do you have to care about what I did before? Did I ever ask what you did with my sister?"

"I did nothing with your sister." Vincent’s jaw muscles twitched slightly, he said word by word, "She wasn’t worthy for me to touch her!"

"That’s between you two, what’s it got to do with me?"

May rubbed her reddened wrist, threw a harsh, spiteful sentence, and turned to walk toward the car.

Damn Vincent, he lost his temper for no reason, kept asking questions about her and Adam’s past. She never even asked if he had been involved with Melanie, yet he had the audacity to question her?

Men truly are all pigs!

She had just reached the car when Vincent grabbed her wrist, opening the door in an instant, pulling both himself and May into the back seat together.

As soon as the car door closed, he suddenly pressed his entire body down.

"You’re my wife. In the future, don’t say that my business is none of yours." With that, his kiss descended.

"Let go of me. This is a public place. Are you crazy?" May frantically slapped at Vincent, so angry she was about to cry.

Their car was parked in the square’s parking lot, with people passing by around. What was he doing!

"Didn’t you and Adam enjoy kissing in such an obvious place too? So why can’t we?"

Vincent’s expression was cold, but his hands were fervent, yet his eyes clearly showed malicious revenge towards her.

"We’re not as filthy as you think!"

May was anxious, unable to hold back from shouting at Vincent, and thinking of Adam, she suddenly couldn’t hold back her tears.

Seeing her cry, the fire inside Vincent suddenly died down. After all, he couldn’t bear to see her cry. He sighed softly and reached out to adjust her collar.

"Stop crying." He coaxed her patiently.

However, May’s stubbornness flared up. She glared at him and continued to shout: "I’m not the kind of woman you say I am. If you think I’m so casual, just let me go. After all, what you need is the Jade Pendant, the influence of the Vance Family. Does whether I’m clean or not affect you?"

"Stop talking!"

A single sentence completely enraged Vincent; he roared low, fiercely pinching May’s small face, forcing her to look him in the eye: "What do I have to do for you to understand that I married you not just for that Jade Pendant!"

May scoffed, remembering what Melanie had said, her eyes clearly filled with doubt towards this man: "Am I really that stupid? So you find it especially easy to deceive me?"

"You’re not stupid; I’m the stupid one."

Stupid enough to fall in love with such a troublesome woman like you.

Vincent sighed softly, suddenly getting off May, then reopened the car door and went back to the driver’s seat to drive.

The lights flickered along the way, Vincent’s sullen face appearing somewhat scary under the constantly changing lights.

"You... just want to know the secret of the Jade Pendant, right? So why not let me tell you now and then let me go, okay?"

The pressure in the car was extremely low, and May felt if she didn’t speak, she would suffocate, and she didn’t want to continue like this with Vincent. Since the marriage began with a secret, she thought she’d break the secret and gain her freedom.

Melanie was right. Vincent didn’t truly love her, marrying her only for the Jade Pendant. Continuing their marriage any further made no sense to her.

Vincent, however, was focused on driving, ignoring her recent words.

May waited a moment, seeing no response, and thought he hadn’t heard clearly, so she couldn’t help but repeat: "I’ll tell you all the secrets of the Jade Pendant. Call off the wedding, and I don’t want the Pendant. You can give it to Grandpa, just let me be free."

"Stop it." Vincent’s voice turned cold, suddenly suppressing her from speaking further.
