Young Master Vance Has An Enchanting Wife
Chapter 383: As Long as You’re Okay
CHAPTER 383: CHAPTER 383: AS LONG AS YOU’RE OKAY
Logan Vance saw her about to cut her wrist, turned pale with fright, and immediately stepped back a few steps. At the same time, he quickly commanded several nearby vines to attack toward May Morgan.
The vines, having no eyes, could only attack humans by instinct. Just as they were about to touch May, the vines suddenly recoiled as if they had touched something burning hot.
Some vines, unable to retract in time, quickly withered after coming into contact with May’s body, turning into dried branches.
At this moment, even Victor Grant noticed the anomaly and looked at May in surprise.
"Logan, your tricks can’t attack me. Not only can’t they harm me, they’re afraid of me just like you!"
As May took another step toward Logan, she threatened him, saying, "Remember last time when my blood injured you? It burned a large piece of your skin. This time, where should I attack you? Maybe ruin your face, since you don’t really need a face!"
"I’m warning you, don’t come near me, or you’ll regret it!" Although Logan issued threats with full authority, he instinctively stepped back two more steps; it was clear he was genuinely afraid of May’s blood.
"Before I get angry, you’d better get lost!" May didn’t want to get entangled with Logan to the end, as she knew the fight was uneven. Moreover, with Victor severely injured, he shouldn’t stand for long.
So, she decided to quit while ahead and let him go!
Logan paused, reluctantly spat a sentence at May: "Wait and see!" and quickly fled.
Once he left, the vines suddenly lost their vitality, quickly collapsing to the ground. The people previously attacked and entangled by the vines fell to the ground; some still had a breath left, while others had their internal organs crushed, dying miserably.
May took Victor’s phone from his pocket, called the police, summoned an ambulance, then helped Victor to the nearby sofa and tore her clothes to bandage his wounds.
This wasn’t the first time Victor had been injured. Although this time the wound was severe, with a vine nearly piercing his whole chest, he still showed resilience, silently covering his chest.
May pressed cloth against Victor’s wound to prevent excessive blood loss, seeing his pale face, felt a pang of heartache and said, "Why did you block that for me? Those vines can’t harm me."
Victor lowered his head in embarrassment and softly explained, "Just instinct, I saw you in danger and wanted to protect you."
May’s throat choked up, her nose felt sour as she said to Victor, "Why are you so good to me? I don’t deserve this."
After a pause, she suddenly apologized to him: "I’m sorry, I deliberately made you come to my rescue because I knew you were working with Logan. You wanted to defeat Vincent, so I wanted you to break up, but I didn’t intend for you to get hurt, honestly..."
After speaking, her eyes reddened, tears couldn’t help but fall: "I didn’t know Logan would be so strong with the Poisonous Insect Technique, if I knew, I wouldn’t have called you, truly!"
Victor smiled reassuringly, reached out to touch her small face, and wiped that tear from her eye: "Don’t cry, I’m not dead. Once I’m at the hospital and get treated, it’ll be fine, won’t it?"
May looked down at the blood already seeping from his chest and said worriedly, "You’re pierced through, yet you say it’s nothing?"
Victor grinned nonchalantly: "What’s this? When I was venturing into society, I often got into fights, several times almost lost my life."
May glanced at him, puzzled, and asked, "I don’t understand, with your family’s good conditions, why do you make trouble?"
Victor’s family is wealthy, perhaps among the world’s richest. He’s got a restless spirit, and therefore intentionally seeks hardship despite his birthright.
Victor gazed at May with deep emotion, suddenly remarking, "When I was young and impulsive, I thought this was how life had meaning, but now it’s different. I just want to live a stable life with you, spend the rest of our lives peacefully..."
May was taken aback by his words, her expression slightly complicated as she said, "Don’t talk anymore; talking might accelerate your blood loss, lie down for a while."
After speaking, she supported Victor to lie on the sofa. Once he lay down, Victor grabbed May’s hand, holding it tightly.
"May, you won’t leave me, will you?"
May was bewildered by his question, afraid he’d be overly sad and upset his health, so she stammered and nodded: "I, I won’t, I’ll accompany you to the hospital."
"It’s not about that, I want you to nod, our wedding can still be held on schedule, right?"
"Wedding... should be postponed, right? Your injury..."
"No, my injury is fine, I know in my heart, May, I just need you to say if you’ll marry me."
Victor’s hand held May’s tightly, unwilling to let go, showing his sincere feelings for her.
May looked down at his chest wound, remembering his unwavering protection, her heart moved, and she nodded, "No, I’ll do as promised."
Hearing May say this, Victor’s tense face slowly relaxed.
He smiled contentedly, a gratifying light in his eyes: "That’s great, because of your words, I must overcome this, live well, take care of you for a lifetime."
May, hearing this, felt her nose sour again, couldn’t help but shed tears: "Victor, I order you now to shut up!"
"I know, I’ll listen to you, I won’t say anything; I still need to keep this life to marry and live with you..."
Victor’s voice grew quieter and quieter, making May particularly afraid. She urgently clutched Victor’s hand, loudly calling his name: "Victor, I’m telling you to shut up, not to sleep. Don’t sleep, if you sleep, it’s over. Wake up, wake up!"
May saw Victor slowly close his eyes, and she panicked, grabbing his arm fiercely and shaking him, shouting loudly: "Victor, if you die, I won’t forgive you! Wake up, wake up, how will I explain to your parents? They only have one child, you can’t die!"
No matter how she shook Victor, he didn’t respond. Knowing he had fainted from blood loss, and with the ambulance yet to arrive, she wondered what to do.
