CHAPTER 428: CHAPTER 428: BRINGING YOU SOME SECRET WEAPONS

"Yes!" The subordinate obeyed Victor Grant’s command and immediately picked up Maxwell Vance from the ground as if he were a chick, hanging her directly on the hook on the beam, suspending her in mid-air.

Maxwell’s body was already frail, and being hung like this made her face turn pale instantly, cold sweat pouring down, and her lower abdomen began to ache faintly.

"Victor Grant, you can’t do this to me, I’m pregnant..." Maxwell weakly said to Victor.

Victor sneered, deliberately glancing at Maxwell’s belly, mocking her, "The Owens Family doesn’t want you anymore, so why are you so eager to have a child with that bastard Adam Owens? Are you crazy? I’d say it would be best for everyone if you just lost it."

"No, no, this is my child, I can’t abandon him." Victor’s coldhearted and ruthless words made Maxwell tremble all over, wanting to cry but having no tears: "Even if Adam doesn’t want me and the child anymore, he’s been in my belly for over four months, I can’t bear to part with him."

"You can’t part with your child, but could May Morgan part with hers? Did you think of this day when you drugged her back then?"

The reason Victor pressed Oscar Owens to exchange Maxwell for Adam was partly to avenge his father, and partly for May Morgan; back then, May suffered so terribly at Maxwell’s hands that if he didn’t destroy this woman, he would feel guilty towards May.

Maxwell wanted to cry but couldn’t, arguing with Victor, "It was my brother who told me to do it, it had nothing to do with me."

"Whether it had anything to do with you, we’ll see later. Right now, I can’t be bothered with you. Just you wait, when I’m back, I’ll slowly torture you!"

Victor pointed at Maxwell’s face, threw out a threat, and turned to leave the basement.

Worried about May’s condition, Victor quickly got into his car and drove toward the hospital. Unexpectedly, just as his car was about to leave the Grant Family’s gate, a black car suddenly swerved in, blocking his path.

Seeing someone block his way, Victor was so angry that he swore on the spot, "Are you blind, damn it? Didn’t you see my car trying to get out? Get out of my way, or I’ll kill you!"

The owner of the car wasn’t flustered; he opened the car door calmly and came to stand in front of Victor’s vehicle.

The man wore a black tracksuit, a large pair of sunglasses, and a baseball cap on his head, making it impossible to see his face.

Victor looked at this strange-looking man, and suddenly his eyes lit up as he pushed open the car door, "Logan Vance, you bastard, you dare walk into the trap!"

Indeed, it was none other than Logan Vance, the instigator of this series of events, who had driven over. Victor had long wanted to settle scores with this guy, but too bad Logan was elusive and hard to find.

Well, now it’s settled. This guy dared walk into his trap and even brazenly block his house’s entrance. If Victor didn’t teach him a lesson today, he wouldn’t know the might of Grandpa Grant!

Seeing Victor furiously get out of the car, about to throw a punch, Logan quickly waved his hand to signal him to calm down: "Victor, I’m not here to fight you."

"Fight? Damn it, I think you’re just asking for a beating!" Victor couldn’t be bothered to listen to this bastard’s nonsense and swung a punch at him.

Logan dodged in time, quickly avoiding Victor’s iron fist, and before Victor could throw another, Logan swiftly retreated three meters away.

His movements were swift, like teleportation, and Victor didn’t blink; Logan had already quickly retreated to where Victor couldn’t reach him.

"Logan Vance, you bastard, if you have the guts, don’t run!" Though wary of Logan, when Victor was angry, he wouldn’t hold back and wanted to kill the opponent.

Before Victor could rush over, Logan quickly presented a white porcelain bottle to him, signaling him to take a look.

"Don’t fight, I’m here to bring you a weapon!"

Weapon?

Victor looked doubtfully at the white porcelain bottle in Logan’s hand, not taking it: "What good could you possibly have for me? If I trusted you again, I’d truly be a fool."

"Hehehe, believe it or not, once you leave, Vincent will come with people to turn your Grant Family upside down and rescue Maxwell, wasting all your efforts."

Hearing Logan’s words, Victor couldn’t help but become vigilant. Earlier, he was in such a rush to get to the hospital upon hearing May fainted, but if he really left, the Grant Family would be unguarded, and Vincent would definitely break in with his people.

Having gone to such lengths to capture Maxwell, he certainly wouldn’t let her go easily.

But how did Logan know all this? Could it be that he’s been secretly watching everything all along?

"I don’t believe a word you say! My Grant Family has so many bodyguards; Vincent can’t just come and go as he pleases. If he wants to take his sister away, that’s up to me!"

Concerned about May at the hospital, Victor didn’t have time to waste on Logan, so he opened the car door and was about to leave.

Logan blocked him as he was leaving and said, "I know you’re as strong as Vincent, but if you could take him down without lifting a finger and do it without anyone knowing, wouldn’t that be even better?"

Logan’s words sparked a thought in Victor; of course, he’d want to take Vincent out, but was always restrained because of May, never daring to act.

If there was a chance for Vincent to die inexplicably without it tracing back to him, that would be ideal.

But could Logan be setting a trap for him again? What if this was another setup?

"Why should I trust anything you say? You’re so cunning, who knows if you’re setting a trap for me?"

Seeing that Victor, although verbally expressing disbelief, hadn’t immediately gotten back into his car to leave, Logan smiled smugly, knowing he’d stirred Victor’s interest. He quickly handed the small white porcelain bottle to him, signaling, "In here is a powder that can promote the rapid growth of plants. As for its effect, you saw it last time at the villa. If you use those vines against Vincent, how many lives do you think he can survive?"

Victor clearly remembered the incident when Logan used the vines to kill; it was engraved in his memory. He knew very well the power of those vines; if not for the vines fearing May and being subdued by her, he might have already been slaughtered by Logan.

If he could use those things to kill Vincent and frame Logan for it, saying it was Logan’s doing, it would be a win-win.

"How do I use it?" Victor looked at the white porcelain bottle in Logan’s hand, cautiously asking.
