CHAPTER 43: CHAPTER 43: THE SECOND YOUNG MASTER IS VERY STRANGE

This remark reminded Vincent, who paused, turned his head to glance at Jacob Jennings, then heavily patted his shoulder: "Go get it done."

Jacob replied quickly and turned around to handle what Vincent had instructed him to do.

Just as he opened the door, the second young master, Logan Vance, walked in with a beautifully wrapped box, accompanied by the third young lady, Maxwell Vance.

Maxwell was Vincent’s biological sister, and now that her brother was getting married, it was natural for her to come congratulate him and, meanwhile, see her new sister-in-law.

In fact, she and May Morgan had known each other for a while, just not very well; their relationship wasn’t that great due to Adam Owens.

Vincent glanced at the two of them, courteously inviting them to sit down.

"Is there something you need?"

Vincent glanced at the box Logan placed on the coffee table and politely asked.

Logan bent over and pushed the box in front of Vincent, indicating, "It’s a wedding gift for sister-in-law. I wonder if she’ll like it."

Vincent didn’t even look at the contents of the box, just smiled faintly and replied perfunctorily, "You bought it, so it’s naturally good stuff; she’ll like it."

After saying this, Vincent intentionally shifted his gaze to Maxwell, deliberately asking, "Adam Owens was in a car accident, and you still have the heart to come here?"

Maxwell wasn’t aware of Adam’s car accident. Hearing her brother say this, she hurriedly stood up from the sofa and questioned anxiously, "When did this happen? How come I didn’t know?"

"Two hours ago, Jacob Jennings told me. So, do you want to go?" Vincent glanced meaningfully at Maxwell, his smile deepening: "You should go to the hospital to see him and take care of Adam. You definitely don’t want to miss this opportunity."

Maxwell knew very well what Vincent’s words meant, as Adam only had eyes for May Morgan before, never paying her any attention. But now that May was her brother’s woman, Adam was left alone, and showering attention on him would be the best opportunity.

"Thanks, brother, I’ll be leaving now."

From the moment she heard about Adam’s accident, Maxwell could hardly contain her urge to leave.

Vincent didn’t stop her, gently nodding: ’Go ahead, if there’s any problem, give me a call.’

With their parents gone early, Vincent had the deepest bond with his sister Maxwell, as she was practically raised by him.

After Maxwell left, Logan looked at Vincent with a face full of doubt and asked, "Big brother, do you know the cause of Adam’s accident?"

Vincent didn’t wish to discuss Adam’s car accident at his own home with Logan, especially since May could wake up at any moment, and he didn’t want her to know about it yet.

"Not sure, I’ve already sent someone to investigate. I believe there will be results soon."

Vincent deliberately shifted the topic and then bent over to pick up the gift Logan brought, instructing the maid beside him: ’Put the gift away.’

The maid took the box from Vincent’s hand and turned to take it upstairs.

Logan looked at Vincent and asked again: ’Big brother, is there any news about the Jade Pendant?’

Vincent replied with a forced smile, "I have people looking for it at the place May went on vacation. There might be news in a few days."

Logan nodded meaningfully and then said, "If there’s anything I can help with, just let me know."

Vincent didn’t want Logan to get involved, so he replied evasively that he was searching for the Jade Pendant, thus saying, "For now, there’s no need, but I’ll call you if I need you."

Logan understood Vincent’s intentions, smiled, and did not press on about the matter. He looked around, not seeing May, then asked, "Where is May? Why haven’t I seen her?"

Vincent responded coldly, "She’s still sleeping; she went to bed late last night."

Logan discreetly smiled, said no more, and when the maid brought coffee, he picked it up and drank it slowly, showing no signs of wanting to leave.

Vincent frowned, deliberately trying to drive him away, asking, "Is there anything else?"

Logan, hearing this, quickly put down the coffee in his hand and smiled, "Nothing, just wanted to see if there was anything I could help you with regarding the wedding."

"No need, I’ve arranged everything well, no need for help at the moment!" Vincent checked his watch, stood up from the sofa, and suggested, "I actually have a meeting to attend, shall we leave together?"

"Sure!" Logan quickly got up from the sofa and indeed left Zenith Villa together with Vincent.

Vincent watched his car leave, but instead of going to the company, he returned with a serious expression on his face.

Jacob, closely following behind him, asked in a low voice, "What is it, Master?"

Without speaking, Vincent entered the living room and directly ordered the maid to bring out the gift Logan had delivered. He unwrapped the box and carefully examined the contents.

It was a Cartier bracelet, finely crafted and very valuable. Neither the box nor the bracelet itself showed any suspicious signs.

Jacob saw Vincent staring at the bracelet for a long time, and couldn’t help but ask again, "Is there a problem with the gift from the second young master?"

Vincent pondered for a long time before placing the bracelet back into the box and closing the lid slowly, saying, "There’s no problem with the bracelet, but I just feel that Logan was acting suspiciously today."

Logically, for Logan, as Vincent’s cousin, to give a gift to his future sister-in-law was perfectly fine. But the odd thing was that he came today, when Adam had a car accident suddenly, and May lost the Jade Pendant.

Although Logan hid it well, and Vincent couldn’t see what was wrong with him on the surface, his intuition told him that Logan was behaving strangely today.

Jacob’s heart tightened, and he quickly suggested to Vincent, "Should I have someone keep an eye on the second young master?"

"No need!" Vincent waved his hand decisively and said concisely, "The Jade Pendant is the key. Find it first."

Keeping tabs on anyone was useless; only the Jade Pendant was crucial for keeping May safe. Finding the Jade Pendant was the top priority.

Once the Jade Pendant was found, Vincent planned to send May away to a place where no one could find her until he had the means to bring her back.

As May slept in a haze, her head still not fully awake, Monica Lambert’s bombarding call suddenly came through: "May, something happened to Adam!"

May’s mind went blank for a moment, thinking Monica was joking with her, so she laughed and said, "Monica Lambert, how much did you get paid by Vincent this time?"

"Ah, pfft, am I that kind of person? I’m serious, Adam had a car accident, and he’s lying in the hospital right now."

This announcement jolted May completely awake from her stupor. She suddenly sat up in bed and asked anxiously, "What did you just say?"
