CHAPTER 430: CHAPTER 430: HE’S HERE

"May, my mom isn’t well. If something happens, talk to me, come out!" Worried that his mom’s involvement would complicate things, Victor Grant motioned with a cold face for May Morgan to step outside and speak.

May noticed his evasive gaze, clearly looking for excuses to stall them, making her increasingly uneasy. With Victor’s temperament, how could he easily let things go?

Unless he has already made preparations to deal with Vincent Vance, which is why he isn’t in a hurry?

May decided to test Victor, so she comforted Heather Holt with a few words and then followed Victor to leave the ward.

Just at the door of the ward, Victor sharply rebuked Mae, who was specially serving May: "What are you doing? Wasn’t it warned that the young mistress shouldn’t leave the ward?"

Mae, frightened by Victor’s anger, knelt on the ground immediately, pleading repeatedly: "Master, I was wrong. The young mistress was begging me, I called your phone but couldn’t get through, I felt so sorry for her that I brought her to see the old lady."

"Now you pity her, later I’ll see if I pity you!" Victor glared coldly at the kneeling Mae and said indifferently, "You’re fired."

Upon hearing she was fired, Mae burst into tears in fear: "Master, I was wrong, I’ll never dare again, please forgive me this time."

May felt this was Victor taking advantage of the situation to humiliate her and couldn’t help but step up, saying, "If you kick her out, I’ll leave too. I won’t be with you anymore."

"If you can walk away, go ahead!" Victor looked at May’s shaky frame disdainfully and coldly laughed: "If you can walk a hundred steps by yourself, I lose!"

"Victor!" May really didn’t want to always argue with Victor, but neither had a good temperament, so it seemed like besides fighting, there was nothing else for them to do together.

Thinking about the time spent with Victor, May felt really helpless and difficult.

Maybe she couldn’t find happiness because they always fought?

"I promised Uncle Grant I wouldn’t leave you temporarily, but that doesn’t mean I won’t ever leave no matter how you treat me, Victor, I have my limits too, don’t push me."

Victor’s gaze darkened as he said defiantly, "What limits? Your limits are just Vincent Vance. I promised not to deal with him, but if he’s dying, I absolutely won’t lend a hand."

Looking at the time, Victor thought Vincent should have already reached the villa. He wondered how his subordinates were doing and if Vincent would die there?

To ensure nothing goes wrong, Victor felt he needed to make a call to remind his subordinates about the specifics of operating that fragrance box to avoid accidents.

"You guys take the young mistress back to the ward to rest, I’ll come over later!"

Thinking of this, Victor found an excuse to send May away. May didn’t want to leave; she still wanted to talk to Victor, but her strength was pitifully small. Two bodyguards held her arms, and she could only follow them back.

"Victor, don’t be impulsive. Killing Vincent is of no benefit to you. It’ll only fall into Logan’s trap. Logan is malicious, after dealing with Vincent, you’ll be next!"

May’s unwilling voice echoed in the quiet corridor, even reaching Heather inside the room.

Actually, since May started saying those strange things to Victor, Heather was suspicious; although they didn’t say anything to her, she listened and observed. From their expressions, she knew the matter was complicated.

Though May didn’t like Victor, she was kind-hearted and never intended to harm the Grant Family, Heather was certain of that. Knowing her son’s temperament, she felt it necessary to investigate the issue herself.

After sending May away, Victor thought everything was fine, and sat on a chair outside the ward to call his subordinate Carter.

"How’s it going over there? Has Vincent arrived yet?"

"He came, but for some reason he still won’t come in, seems to be waiting for someone." Carter peered through the glass a few times, somewhat strangely reporting to Victor.

Victor heard this and anxiously asked, "How many cars arrived? Did you see Vincent?"

"Saw him, only him. I’m puzzled, is this guy overly brave? Daring to barge in alone?"

Victor frowned in unease, knowing Vincent isn’t foolish, he wouldn’t barge in alone to rescue someone, and would definitely judge that Victor wouldn’t easily hand Maxwell over. If so, why dare come alone?

And waiting but not barging in, for whom?

Waiting for Jacob Jennings? No, reliable sources confirmed Jacob already drove to Crestwood earlier, should be there now, Crestwood is a thousand miles away, he couldn’t return so fast.

Since it’s not Jacob, who on earth is Vincent waiting for?

"Boss, what should we do? When should I use the thing you gave me?"

Seeing Vincent just sitting in the car waiting, Carter grew impatient and asked again.

After thinking briefly, Victor instructed him: "Wait and see, if Vincent really barges in alone, you should be able to handle him, but if he calls for help, do as I told you, leave him with no body."

"Got it, I’ll wait then."

Receiving Victor’s orders, Carter began patiently waiting for Vincent’s next move.

However, after waiting for a good ten minutes, he still didn’t see Vincent show any sign of getting out of the car.

Growing increasingly impatient, Carter couldn’t figure out Vincent’s plan, and gave another call to Victor: "Boss, why hasn’t Vincent shown any sign of getting out? Shouldn’t he be chickening out and leaving?"

Victor also worried that Vincent might leave, knowing he laid a trap there waiting for Vincent’s demise. If Vincent left, the thing Logan gave him would be wasted.

If Vincent doesn’t die, Victor would always be restless.

Thinking about it, Victor gritted his teeth and said to Carter: "This is him being cautious, take that wretch Maxwell out and let Vincent see. If he dares step into the villa, release the poison."

"Understood!"

Receiving the new order, Carter quickly instructed his men to drag the unmoving Maxwell on the ground outside.
