Young Master Vance Has An Enchanting Wife
Chapter 449: Prudence Above All Else
CHAPTER 449: CHAPTER 449: PRUDENCE ABOVE ALL ELSE
After his palm was cut, he quickly opened the bottle and poured some white healing powder onto the wound. In the blink of an eye, the blood on his wrist stopped flowing. When he washed off all the white powder from the wound, Vincent Vance saw that the injury on his palm had miraculously healed.
"Young Master, you should try it!" Seeing how miraculous Mr. Drake’s healing powder was, Jacob Jennings couldn’t help but brighten and persuaded Vincent Vance once more.
Vincent Vance hesitated for a moment before carefully instructing Jacob Jennings, "You go, and remember to be cautious, don’t overdo it."
"Got it!"
Having received Vincent Vance’s approval, Jacob Jennings quickly walked over to Mr. Drake, taking the knife and bottle from his hand, and then approached May Morgan.
May Morgan was still unconscious. He carefully pulled one of her hands from the wooden tub, and then, holding the knife, cut her between the fingers, placing a white porcelain bowl beneath her hand, watching her blood drip into the bowl, little by little.
Vincent Vance, unable to feel at ease with Jacob Jennings, forced himself to walk over. Previously, when May Morgan’s blood had dripped, it was hot and could burn everything, yet now the blood dripping from May Morgan’s fingertips seemed no different from usual.
It seemed that Mr. Drake’s herbs had managed to suppress the boiling of the Dragon Blood within her, alleviating the pain of its backlash on May Morgan.
In a blink, half a bowl of blood had dripped out, and Vincent Vance worried that May Morgan would lose too much blood, quickly telling Jacob Jennings, "That’s enough, stop the bleeding for May Morgan."
Jacob Jennings, concerned there might not be enough, quickly glanced over at Mr. Drake. Seeing Mr. Drake nod, he then sprinkled the powder from the porcelain bottle onto May Morgan’s fingers, quickly helping her stop the bleeding.
The healing powder was indeed magical. Once May Morgan’s hand got in contact with the powder, the wound healed swiftly, in less than a minute, though some scars temporarily remained, the bleeding had stopped.
"Young Master, quickly drink this." Jacob Jennings handed over May Morgan’s blood to Vincent Vance, indicating him to drink it down at once.
Vincent Vance sighed deeply and had no choice but to take the bowl from Jacob Jennings’ hand and drink May Morgan’s blood in the bowl in one gulp.
Her blood was still so sweet, carrying an inexplicable tempting allure. After drinking this bowl, Vincent Vance had an urge to drain all of May Morgan’s blood.
He quickly suppressed this bizarre impulse, turned and handed the bowl to Jacob Jennings, saying, "Quickly find something to replenish blood to help May Morgan stop the bleeding."
Knowing Vincent Vance’s heart was with May Morgan, Jacob Jennings dared not say anything and quickly agreed, turning to leave.
Mr. Drake noticed and quickly called him, saying, "I have some herbs at home which are excellent for replenishing blood. Later, you accompany me to the backyard, and we will bring some over to brew for Mr. Vance and Miss Morgan to drink."
"Alright, thank you!" Jacob Jennings quickly thanked Mr. Drake, giving him a polite look.
Mr. Drake reached out to lift Vincent Vance’s clothing, looked at his back, and saw the black bruises on his back were slowly fading. He couldn’t help but nod repeatedly, saying, "Good, very good, it seems my methods have worked!"
Vincent Vance noticed he said methods had worked and couldn’t help but ask in surprise, "Mr. Drake, are you saying that May Morgan’s situation has also improved?"
Mr. Drake gave Vincent Vance a surprised glance, paused, and then mused with a smile, "Young Master Vance truly has deep feelings for your lady. Even in this situation, the first thing you think of is not yourself, but your lady’s safety."
Vincent Vance was somewhat embarrassed by Mr. Drake’s praise, unable to resist reaching out, holding May Morgan’s exposed finger, and whispering, "I owe her too much; this is what I should repay her."
Jacob Jennings, fearing Vincent Vance might overexert himself, persuaded him to lie on the nearby bed for a while. Vincent Vance was unwilling, and though Jacob Jennings persuaded for a few minutes, he couldn’t make him yield; ultimately, he was called away by Mr. Drake to help brew herbal medicine for Vincent Vance and May Morgan to replenish their blood.
The herbs simmered for at least three hours. When Jacob Jennings brought the medicine in, Vincent Vance was already sitting beside the wooden tub, holding May Morgan’s arm and asleep.
He heard movement at the door, opened his eyes to take a look, and Jacob Jennings, seeing his cautious face, quickly whispered, "Young Master, it’s me, I’ve brewed blood-replenishing herbs for May Morgan."
Vincent Vance nodded, signaling him to bring over the herbal medicine, planning to taste it first himself.
Seeing Vincent Vance like this, Jacob Jennings couldn’t help but sigh, "Young Master, are you planning to test whether it’s poisoned before giving it to May Morgan?"
Vincent Vance glanced up at him, his face full of caution, "It’s hard to fathom people’s hearts. At that time, we were deceived in Silverwood City, let alone here in Crestwood. It’s not that I doubt your abilities; it’s just that I can’t trust anyone one hundred percent right now."
Jacob Jennings gave a helpless, bitter smile, lowered his head, and apologized to Vincent Vance, "The last incident with Mr. Landry was my fault; I shouldn’t have introduced him to you."
Upon hearing this, Vincent Vance waved his hand, indicating Jacob Jennings not to blame himself. He took a small sip of the dark herbal medicine, tasting the flavor, and said to Jacob Jennings, "There’s a divine arrangement. The appearance of Mr. Landry was not entirely detrimental. At least, he left us some clues to find Mount Caelus."
At this point, Vincent Vance quickly reached into his pocket and took out a short flute, gently pressing the button on it, and suddenly, a tiny scroll appeared in his hand.
"At dawn, show this scroll to Mr. Drake to see if he recognizes this place."
Vincent Vance handed the scroll to Jacob Jennings, instructing him.
Jacob Jennings knew that the reason Vincent Vance asked him to wait until dawn to show the scroll to Mr. Drake was to see if May Morgan’s condition had improved. If she was much better, it would mean that Mr. Drake had not deceived them. But if May Morgan’s condition showed no improvement or worsened, it could only mean that this person was dangerous.
"Okay, I will act cautiously."
Jacob Jennings put the mini scroll into his pocket, then looked over at the still unconscious May Morgan, who was soaking in the wooden tub, and asked Vincent Vance, "Has May Morgan shown any signs of improvement?"
"Yes, I touched her body; it has cooled down to normal human temperature, but she is still not conscious. I called her several times just now, but she didn’t respond."
Vincent Vance, rubbing his swollen temples, further instructed Jacob Jennings, "I’ve arranged for some supplies needed for the mountain trip. Early tomorrow morning, go to the airport and bring the necessary items over. Additionally, two special forces soldiers will also follow over. You’ll need to prepare for that."
