Young Master Vance Has An Enchanting Wife
Chapter 47: Acting Proper with Your Own Wife?
CHAPTER 47: CHAPTER 47: ACTING PROPER WITH YOUR OWN WIFE?
"Has the item been delivered?"
"Yes, young master, I’m just outside the door." Jacob Jennings quickly answered over the phone.
Vincent Vance nodded in satisfaction and immediately ordered, "Come in."
As soon as Vincent finished speaking, the door of the small living room was opened from the outside, and immediately, Jacob walked in holding an enormous bouquet of roses.
"Young master, the flowers you ordered have arrived." Jacob handed the large bouquet in his arms to Vincent, who took it and then turned to look at May Morgan. Suddenly, he kneeled down on one knee.
This action truly shocked everyone, including May. She never anticipated that Vincent would propose to her in Adam Owens’s hospital room.
In that moment, what she felt was not touched, but awkward.
Because she thought Vincent did this on purpose, intentionally showing off in front of Adam.
So, when Vincent pulled out a diamond ring bigger than a pigeon’s egg and intended to put it on her hand, she instinctively withdrew her fingers.
The light in Vincent’s eyes dimmed slightly, and he asked her softly, "May, do you not want to marry me?"
Nearby, Maxwell Vance pretended to be envious and said, "Wow, bro, is the diamond ring you’re giving May the legendary ’Star of Extreme Night’ that was auctioned some time ago in the jewelry world? I heard the starting bid was fifty million. You’re being very generous to my sister-in-law."
Vincent didn’t speak but continued kneeling on one knee, looking up at May’s face, and repeated word by word, "May, will you marry me?"
May’s mind was in chaos. Vincent proposing to her was something she felt she could agree to, but he shouldn’t have done it right now, in Adam’s hospital. How could she face this?
"Vincent, can we talk somewhere else?"
May didn’t want to embarrass Vincent, so she whispered to him to negotiate.
"What can’t be said in front of everyone?"
Vincent’s voice was deep as he gazed into May’s eyes and said, "I did this just to tell everyone that I like you. Whatever you want in the future, I can fulfill for you. Whatever you want to do, I will support you. No matter what others say, I will always believe you. My own wife is not for others to judge!"
After speaking, Vincent deliberately glanced at Audrey Vance, making Audrey’s face alternately flush red and pale, looking very awkward.
It was only then that May understood Vincent’s intention. He wasn’t showing off to Adam but was angry about Audrey’s previous demeaning words towards her, reclaiming her dignity.
"I will, thank you."
Moved, May quickly extended her finger, allowing Vincent to place the pigeon egg-sized ring on her ring finger.
Whether the ring was expensive really didn’t matter. What mattered was the person, the heart willing to protect her.
After leaving the hospital, May leaned against Vincent’s chest while gazing at the diamond ring on her hand in a daze. She didn’t really understand jewelry, but she heard Maxwell talk about it earlier. A starting bid of fifty million—did that mean it could go up to over a hundred million?
Suddenly, May found she didn’t know how to place that hand.
"What, you don’t like it?" Seeing May fiddling with her hand that now bore a diamond ring, Vincent lowered his head and asked.
"A bit too heavy, like carrying a bank on my hand." Thinking about the dizzying price, May really wanted to lock the ring in a safe; wasn’t buying such a large diamond ring just inviting thieves?
Vincent reached out and touched her hair, smiling as he suggested, "If you’re not used to it, we can buy a smaller one tomorrow. Keep this one for fun."
For fun? An item worth a hundred million, and the young master tells me to keep it for fun?
May seriously doubted he had bought her a fake; otherwise, why would he speak about it so lightly?
"Better not, it would be a shame to lose it." May laughed awkwardly and lowered her fingers; this thing was really heavy and hard to hold up.
"If you lose it, we’ll just buy a new one. It’s only jewelry. As long as you like it, I’ll buy you as much as you want."
Although May previously dismissed men who would only say "buy buy buy" as shallow, encountering one truly made her heart soar.
After all, who wouldn’t want their man to be an ATM outside and a strong support at home?
Well, crap, has Vincent spoiled her with such thoughts? How could she think of such indecent things?
Back at Zenith Villa, Vincent gazed at the wedding dress in the bedroom and, feeling a bit unsettled, said to May, "Try on the wedding dress for me, would you?"
May, now in a better mood than she was during the day, obediently nodded and took the wedding dress to the dressing room to change. The maid even helped her with a hairstyle.
When she came out, she could clearly see Vincent’s eyes light up.
"You look beautiful." Vincent gestured for her to come over, and as soon as May extended her hand, he grabbed it and pulled her onto his lap.
"Beautiful? But there’s no figure." Remembering his complaints about her figure, May deliberately tried to spoil his mood.
"Not at all, though it’s a bit smaller, I imagine it feels quite nice." Vincent smiled wickedly.
"Can’t you be serious?" May’s face turned green, and she hurriedly slapped away his wandering hand, intending to jump off his lap.
However, as soon as she jumped to the ground, Vincent leaned closer, pinning her against the wall.
"Serious with my own wife? That would mean something’s wrong with me, wouldn’t it?" He grinned wickedly, pinching her delicate chin gently and raising it before lowering his lips onto hers in a fervent kiss.
"Mmm, stop it, I’m still in the wedding dress..."
Annoying. This wedding dress was worth millions, yet here he was, crumpling it without a care. While he seemed indifferent, just looking at it pained her.
"Wearing a wedding dress just makes it more exciting..."
"..."
May felt she had indeed married a genuine rascal. What on earth was her husband always thinking about? She couldn’t quite fathom. However, there was one thing clear: this man was constantly turned on by her.
Staring at the crumpled wedding dress, May bit her lip in distress. A million-dollar dress, with every decoration on it crafted from real gold and silver, and he had treated it like this, simply...
"What are you looking at?"
Pulling her in with a strong arm, Vincent affectionately nuzzled against her shoulder, tickling May until she shrank back to dodge him slightly.
"The wedding dress, you crumpled it." May’s eyes remained fixed on the dress, filled with regret.
Vincent seemed unfazed and merely smiled, continuing to hold May close while thinking: so soft, so fine, so delicious.
