Young Master Vance Has An Enchanting Wife
Chapter 54: Nothing Matters More Than Her
CHAPTER 54: CHAPTER 54: NOTHING MATTERS MORE THAN HER
In this world, there’s always that one person, who even if your parents abandon you, and the whole world turns against you, will still wholeheartedly protect you.
"What? You came over? Fine, I’ll wait for you and your grandfather to talk it over. Whoever offers the higher price, I’ll sell to them."
Just as Victor Grant finished speaking, the previously shut door was suddenly kicked open. Vincent Vance swiftly entered with seven or eight men.
Arthur Vance’s four subordinates reacted immediately, aiming their guns at Vincent and his bodyguards. The bodyguards quickly took out their guns as well, confronting them.
Four against eight, Arthur Vance was certainly at a disadvantage.
However, Arthur was ultimately Vincent’s grandfather; he didn’t believe his grandson would dare point a gun at his own grandfather for a woman.
"Vincent, what do you mean by this?" Arthur demanded, his voice slightly sharp towards Vincent.
Vincent met Arthur’s gaze without backing down, then turned and walked towards May Morgan: "Grandpa, what do you mean? Snatching away my bride on her wedding day?"
After he finished speaking, Vincent quickly helped May up from the chair, first surveying their surroundings to ensure she was unharmed, which finally eased his anxious heart.
"Are you alright? Come with me!" Vincent didn’t wish to waste words with Arthur; his sole purpose for coming was to take her away, consequences be damned.
"Stop!" As the two passed by Arthur, he blocked Vincent’s path: "Vincent, this woman must stay today!"
May, terrified, grasped Vincent’s hand, pleading desperately: "Vincent, save me!"
A trace of distress flashed in Vincent’s eyes. He reached out to gently pat May’s head, softly reassuring her: "Don’t worry, as long as I’m here, no one will dare touch you."
After he spoke, he wrapped his long arm around May’s frail, small frame, pulling her tightly into his embrace.
At that moment, May bowed her head and hid in his embrace, her eyes welling with tears, almost breaking into sobs.
Even her father had abandoned her for that woman, her only family pushing her into hell, to the point where she was unaware of how utterly hopeless she had become.
But now, with Vincent’s sudden appearance, holding her and saying, "Don’t be afraid," she felt she had found the man she could trust with her life.
"Vincent, I said before, as long as you can save your uncle’s life, I’ll do anything. Today, if you leave this woman with me, I’ll relinquish control of the Vance Family’s power forever. How about that?"
Since it was Vincent, Arthur didn’t want to become too hostile, suppressing his anger and negotiating with him.
Vincent, however, immediately rejected him: "Sorry, Grandpa, May is my wife and henceforth my responsibility. As her husband, I have the right to protect her safety. Nobody can harm her except me."
"Are you determined to defy me?"
Seeing Vincent unmoved, Arthur finally lost his patience, shouting at Vincent.
Vincent sneered coldly, escorting May while replying to Arthur: "Defy you, so what? I advise you to think about how to get out of here first. Do you really think those amateurs at the door can stop me from taking her away?"
As Vincent finished speaking, Jacob Jennings rushed in: "Sir, those bodyguards at the door have all been taken down by my men."
"Damn!"
Upon hearing that Vincent had indeed acted against his men, Arthur’s face turned livid, pointing at Vincent’s back and threateningly saying: "I warn you, Vance Family is not yet under your control. If you leave with this woman today, don’t blame me for being merciless."
"Does Grandpa intend to take back my authority? Go ahead, I was planning to take my wife on a honeymoon anyway, perhaps let Logan manage for a while?"
Vincent’s confidence and arrogance thoroughly inflamed Arthur, who expelled a breath of anger, threatening Vincent one last time: "You’d better think clearly. Take this woman away and you’ll end up with nothing!"
"Thanks for the reminder. But apart from the Vance Family, I won’t necessarily end up with nothing!"
Vincent shot Arthur a cold glance, unwilling to waste further breath, leaned down to lift May from the ground, and swiftly left the place.
Victor Grant, seeing Vincent about to leave, hurriedly chased after him, shouting: "Aren’t you going to take the Jade Pendant?"
"Yes, five million, a bit later transferred to your account!" Without hesitation, Vincent promised Victor while reaching out: "Give me the Jade Pendant."
Victor hesitated for a moment, cleverly stating: "I won’t give you anything until I see the money."
"Are you doubting my ability to raise that amount?" Vincent raised his eyebrow slightly, his displeasure evident to Victor.
Victor didn’t buy his assertion, bluntly saying: "From what I see, your days as the illustrious Eldest Master Vance are over. Let alone five million, how about you try for five hundred thousand?"
Vincent frowned, suddenly ordering Jacob Jennings coldly: "Jacob, go with Victor to the bank to withdraw the money."
"Yes!" Jacob didn’t hesitate, agreed, then turned to Victor, saying: "Mr. Grant, shall we go?"
Victor looked at Vincent in surprise, then at May, suddenly chuckling strangely. He pulled the Jade Pendant out from his pocket and tossed it in front of Vincent, who quickly caught it.
"I will trust you this one time. Five million, by tomorrow morning at the latest, I want to see it in my account, or I won’t hesitate to kill you!"
Having said this, Victor whistled at May, complimenting: "You’ve got guts, facing Arthur Vance without flinching. You’re the first."
In truth, May was nearly paralyzed with fear at the time, cold sweat pouring off her, yet she needed to survive, to bide her time.
Before May could speak, Vincent pulled her closer, deliberately avoiding Victor’s leering gaze with a chill in his tone: "My woman is naturally the best, but she doesn’t need Mr. Grant’s compliments."
Victor simply chuckled indifferently, turned gracefully, and left.
On the way, Vincent kept checking May’s condition, finally eased upon confirming she was unharmed.
May looked up at him, recalling Arthur’s threatening words, hesitantly asked: "Will Grandpa really take back your authority?"
Vincent nodded calmly, replying: "Yes, Grandpa’s character wouldn’t tolerate rebellion like this. This time, with things so tense between us, he won’t let it slide."
