CHAPTER 61: CHAPTER 61: WHERE TO SPEND THE HONEYMOON?

After speaking, he reached out to pull her into his arms, holding her so tightly as if he wanted to meld this beloved woman into his very bones: "From now on, you are mine, I am yours, if anything happens, your husband will protect you, if there’s danger, your husband will shield you. As long as you don’t betray me, I will always guard you, for a lifetime."

May was moved, nodding her head, her heart at that moment completely melted by the man beside her: "Hmm, I promise you."

She only knew that his countless kindnesses toward her were enough for her to entrust her life to him, so she nodded to him and said, "I promise you."

But she didn’t know, what seemed to her a light promise, in Vincent’s eyes, was a lifelong vow.

If one day she betrayed it, his cruelty would be too much for her to bear.

Because he had once warned her, those who betrayed him all died!

The next morning, as soon as May awoke, Vincent, with a face full of smiles, told her they could set off back to Crestwood.

Hearing this news, May was so happy she almost jumped off the bed.

She had always thought Vincent was teasing her, especially since after Jacob Jennings visited yesterday, he never brought up the topic of traveling again. Since he didn’t mention it, she assumed it had been cancelled and didn’t dare to ask again.

"Oh my God, why didn’t you say earlier? I haven’t prepared anything." May stood in confusion for a long time, then remembered she hadn’t packed clothes or bought a gift for her grandmother.

"You don’t need to prepare anything; I’ve already had people prepare it all for you. Just come with me." Vincent took May’s hand and led her directly down to the first floor to eat breakfast.

May had no appetite for breakfast, her heart was already on the way to Crestwood, barely eating a few bites of food but talking a lot: "Did you bring the mosquito repellent? Our hometown is surrounded by mountains, and if you get bitten into a bun by mosquitoes, I’m not responsible, plus, make sure to bring enough clothes. This trip will take at least ten days to half a month before we return, and since you are such a clean freak, I’m afraid you won’t be able to cope once we arrive back at Crestwood."

The place Crestwood is close to Myria, it’s quite remote, surrounded by mountains and lush forests, and it’s thousands of miles from Silverwood City. Even traveling by plane takes half a day, and that doesn’t include the dirt road trek after getting off the plane. I bet after this trip, the Eldest Master Vance won’t want to go to that godforsaken place again.

Vincent speechlessly watched the chattering May and couldn’t help interrupting her: "Can you eat breakfast properly?"

"Hey, I’m just reminding you, you know, going out traveling is scariest when you’re not fully prepared. You have no idea, Crestwood is surrounded by mountains, and the mosquitoes there are bigger than the prawns on this plate."

While speaking, May picked up a salt-baked prawn and compared it in front of Vincent, scaring him: "Just think, if a mosquito that big bites you, wouldn’t you turn into a mummy?"

Damn, can you even eat a meal properly with talks of mosquitoes and mummies early in the morning?

"Are you eating or not?" Vincent’s temples were throbbing with annoyance at May, nearly losing his temper.

Damn girl over-excited, huh? If he had known, he wouldn’t have taken her to Crestwood.

May was speaking enthusiastically when she suddenly noticed Vincent’s particularly unpleasant face, which scared her into quickly reaching out to eat the prawn in her hand: "I... I won’t talk anymore, I’ll eat."

Vincent looked up at her eating the prawn, the image of her comparing the prawn to a mosquito flashed in his mind, suddenly seeing the prawn as if it was being stuffed into her mouth.

Damn, now he probably won’t even be able to eat prawns in the future...

After breakfast, May followed Vincent to the door and saw a camper that had been waiting for a long time.

Vincent gestured for May to get in first, then went to instruct the servants to load the luggage.

Once inside, May was surprised to see there was a couple sitting in the camper, and they were dressed exactly like her and Vincent.

What is going on?

May cast a surprised glance at Vincent, who was the last to get in. Just as she was about to speak, the couple saw Vincent get on and promptly said respectfully, "Young Master Vance."

Vincent looked at the pair with satisfaction and then said to Jacob Jennings, who was driving up front: "It should be fine from a distance; no flaws should be noticeable."

Jacob, driving in front, apologetically said to Vincent, "Due to some hurry, I could only find two people with a similar stature to the master and madam to stand in for them. I hope the old man’s bodyguards won’t notice any flaws."

Vincent nodded cautiously and added, "Later, when we get to the airport, do it skillfully. Just send them onto the plane; it shouldn’t be noticeable."

"Yes, I’ll be careful." Jacob agreed, then started the car, slowly heading to Vincent’s private airport.

Halfway there, May couldn’t hold back and whispered to Vincent, "Are these two people pretending to be us?"

"Yes, on Grandpa’s side, he has always had people watching us. I can only use this method to deceive them."

"Oh, oh, then what are we taking back to Crestwood later?"

"The plane, but it’s a commercial flight. These two will take my private plane to circle somewhere else while we sneak away."

After saying this, Vincent reached out to ruffle May’s hair, deliberately messing up her silky smooth hair. Truth be told, he now thoroughly enjoyed messing it up, then smoothing it out, only to mess it up again.

May particularly hated him treating her head like a dog’s, angrily swatting away the hand that kept fussing with her hair: "Can you stop touching my head all the time?"

"With hair this soft and not letting people touch it, isn’t it a waste of a natural gift?"

You son of a bitch! May’s eyes rolled with lined with annoyance and she simply moved to one side to sleep.

The car quickly arrived at Vincent’s private airport. After arriving, the two masquerading as May and Vincent tidied their outfits slightly and then followed Jacob out of the car.

Seated in the car, May saw that shortly after they and Jacob left, two men in sunglasses got out of a black private car and quietly began to follow them.

"Did you see that?" Vincent draped an arm around May’s shoulder, whispering to her, "Grandpa always has his eyes on you."

Upon hearing this, May nodded quickly, withdrawing her gaze from inside the car: "Will Grandpa’s people notice anything amiss by the time we’re headed to the airport?"

"No, his people have already been successfully diverted by me, just as long as you don’t cause any fuss halfway through." Vincent pinched May’s little nose with a smile, cautioning her.

May glared at him with displeasure, thinking to herself, How am I causing any fuss? You, Eldest Master Vance, seem impressive now, but just wait until we get to the countryside; I’ll show you what I’m capable of.

After sending the pair onto the plane, Jacob returned to continue the drive. First, he casually drove around Silverwood City to confirm no one was tailing them, then brought Vincent and May to the airport.
