CHAPTER 79: CHAPTER 79: SMALL PUNISHMENT, GREAT WARNING

His smile gradually turned cold: "Is Adam that unforgettable for you? Didn’t I say you shouldn’t meet him recently? Yet you still went to the hospital without telling me?"

After he spoke, he intentionally pinched May Morgan’s waist hard, causing her face to change in pain. She couldn’t help but shout at him, "What are you doing? It hurts like hell!"

"What am I doing? What do you think I’m doing? Wasn’t your stomach hurting? Why isn’t it hurting now? Just to visit Adam at the hospital, you even pretended to have a stomachache? May, you really can do anything!"

He went to great lengths to find people to protect her and keep an eye on her, fearing that once she ran out, she’d be caught by grandpa. But she, as soon as he went out the door, ran off to see Adam. Is Adam so wonderful that she’s willing to risk her life for him?

May hadn’t expected Vincent Vance would know about her hospital visit, so she was a bit at a loss for words at his questioning. But she quickly calmed down and intentionally retorted, "Who told you that? Logan? I’m telling you, that guy secretly drugged me, causing the stomachache, so I went to the hospital. How could you believe him?"

Vincent snorted coldly, "It wasn’t Logan, it was Maxwell, she called and told me."

Maxwell, ha, how could she forget that woman? They had such an unpleasant conflict in the hospital before; it’s normal for her to cause trouble later.

"Fine, I admit I went to the hospital to see Adam, but it’s all because of Logan. If you don’t believe it, look, he admitted himself to drugging me." May turned to get her phone, intending to show Vincent the conversation with Logan. But she had just reached out when Vincent immediately pulled her back.

"You’re secretly chatting with Logan behind my back? May, be honest, how many men have you been flirting with behind my back, hmm?"

"Bastard, you’re just being unreasonable." Vincent’s distrust made May’s heart ache. She gritted her teeth and kicked Vincent.

"I just want you to realize who your man truly is!"

Full of jealousy, Vincent had somewhat lost his mind. Despite May’s constant struggle, the burning jealousy eventually consumed his rationality completely.

Exhausted from a night of turmoil, May’s eyelids could barely open, her limbs felt useless and sore. Though Vincent had carried her to the bathroom for a shower, constantly apologizing, saying he was out of concern for her, she didn’t want to forgive him easily.

Hmph, if she forgives this jerk without principle now, won’t she be under his thumb forever? Unable to lift her head again?

Feeling a hand reaching over her head, she quickly opened her eyes to see Vincent trying to stealthily grab her phone. Angered, she intentionally snatched it away from him.

"What are you doing? You voyeur!" May glared at him, stuffing the phone under the pillow defiantly, refusing to let him see.

Seeing May’s unhappy face, Vincent lowered his head, kissed her cheek, and coaxed her with sweet words: "Didn’t you say Logan messaged you last night? Let me see if this guy is up to some scheme."

May rolled her eyes at him, then deliberately took the phone from under the pillow and, in front of him, deleted the chat records with Logan one by one.

"You want to see? Fine, I’ll let you see." After deleting everything, May tossed the phone onto Vincent’s chest, then turned over to get out of bed.

Damn, her arms and legs hurt as if they were disassembled. She’d disown her last name if she forgave this bastard.

Vincent grabbed her with his large hand, pulling her back from the edge of the bed, showering her with apologies and kisses: "Alright, alright, it’s my fault. You don’t know, when I heard you secretly went to see Adam and stayed alone with him in the ward for so long, I was furious. I drove over three hours to come back. If not deserving praise, at least acknowledge my effort, right?"

Though his cute antics were rather good, May wasn’t buying it and punched him: "Driving three hours back to catch an affair, well done."

Vincent grinned sheepishly, kissing his wife’s face repeatedly like a puppy, lacking any dignity: "Alright, alright, I was wrong, I admit it. You tell me how you want to punish me."

Punishment? As soon as May heard that word, her eyes lit up: "Really?"

Seeing this, Vincent quickly raised his hand and swore seriously: "Everything I say is true. If I break my vow, let thunder strike me, alright?"

May rolled her eyes and snorted, "That’s too vicious, change to a better punishment."

Vincent was secretly glad, feeling like his wife still cared for him: "You say it, anything you want."

"How about infertility with loads of offspring?" May chuckled wickedly, biting her finger.

Holy cow, infertility with loads of offspring? Are you rebelling or something?

...

It’s often said that in this world, there’s no marital conflict that can’t be resolved with a bedroom romp, and if there is, it’s one that requires two.

Sure enough, the little couple’s disagreement mysteriously gradually dissolved.

May turned to look at the man sleeping beside her. She felt she might be a little enamored with him.

May blushingly rubbed her heated face, calming her tumultuous heart a little. She was about to get out of bed when Vincent’s large hand reached over again.

Glaring at the obnoxious hand, May’s face instantly went pale: "If you dare touch me again, I’ll fight you!"

Vincent triumphantly hummed from behind, "Do you still have the strength to fight me?"

"Do you believe I’ll bite you?" May glanced scornfully at his paw, hastily pushing it away.

"I’d welcome it."
