CHAPTER 8: CHAPTER 8: INDIRECT KISS

"Um, brother-in-law, what did you say last night? I don’t remember, but I do have a boyfriend, and I don’t think we’re suitable..."

She doesn’t remember but still knows to tell him having a boyfriend makes them unsuitable? Vincent’s eyes narrowed slightly, and the smile on his face became even more wicked.

"Forget it, since you don’t want to stay, I won’t force you. Have breakfast, and I’ll have someone send you back to school."

With a deep glint flashing in his eyes, Vincent retracted his fingers and slowly spoke.

"Re-really?"

May Morgan’s eyes widened as she looked at the man in front of her, scrutinizing his face thoroughly. Why did his words seem somewhat unbelievable to her?

"Don’t believe it? Then pretend I didn’t say anything."

"Ah, no, no." May replied quickly, waving her hand to indicate.

As she spoke, she had already opened the door and quickly slipped out: "I-I’ll go down for breakfast now!"

Watching the woman quickly disappear, the entangled light in Vincent’s eyes became even more pronounced.

Trying to slip away? There’s no woman I, Vincent Vance, want to marry who can escape.

During breakfast, May’s phone suddenly buzzed. She sneakily picked it up to check and saw a message from Adam Owens: "May, I’m back. I’ll come to the school to find you later."

After seeing the message, May’s fingers noticeably stiffened. He was coming to the school to find her, but she was still at Zenith Villa.

She thought for a moment, then quickly sent a few words to Adam: "I’m at Monica Lambert’s house right now. Come find me there later."

She couldn’t let Adam know she spent the night at Zenith Villa, or she’d be doomed.

"Something wrong?"

Seeing her engrossed in her phone, seemingly with something important, Vincent opened his mouth to ask.

May immediately deleted the message content with Adam while nonchalantly responding to Vincent: "Nothing, Monica Lambert was asking where I went last night."

"Don’t play with your phone during meals. Talk about it when you get to school later." Vincent gave her a sidelong glance, his tone strict like a parent.

"Yes, yes."

May was sweating a bit, looking at him speechlessly for a moment.

Too strict, wasn’t he? Living with him would be so stifling.

Honestly curious about what was so great about Melanie’s relentless pursuit of marrying this man, besides his good looks and endless money.

As for his soul, it wasn’t interesting at all.

"Um, I’m full."

Eager to meet Adam, May didn’t have much of an appetite. She hastily stuffed a few bites of bread into her mouth and was about to stand up and leave.

But who knew, she ate too quickly and suddenly started hiccuping, one after another, embarrassingly.

Vincent looked up at her, then handed her the milk in front of him, signaling her to drink it: "Pathetic, you manage to do this to yourself just eating breakfast."

May was too busy dealing with her hiccups to care what he said and quickly grabbed the milk from his hand, drinking it all in one go: "Th-thank you."

As May put down the cup and thanked Vincent, she suddenly noticed him touching his own lips, smiling playfully.

She was momentarily stunned, looked at the cup in her hand again, and then dawned on her—she, she had actually drunk his leftover milk?

Oh my god, she actually shared a cup with another man and drank his leftover milk. And yet, she hadn’t even kissed Adam, but had now indirectly kissed Vincent!
