CH.656 Duel Runner Tournament, part 14

We pulled into the pits for the last time and I let my massive duel runner disappear from underneath me, while I gently levitated to the ground.

I let Myla take in her victory for a second, but I apparently took too long as soon enough, the three commentators of our match teleported to the pits. Well more like dematerialized their old avatars and made new ones here. Sure Alice can teleport, but she isn’t good at it. And Janina never bothered learning it as she can just fly anywhere she needs to go.

And naturally Hiro can’t teleport.

We all congratulated Myla on her victory, but sadly we had a schedule to keep so I had to get to work.

With a snap of my fingers, a ton of things in the Factory happened. First, the stands where those who watched the duels from inside the Factory moved to where the award ceremony.

Actually, before we get to that, I need to mention the stands. Because naturally it would be quite boring to just watch a screen when you came into the Factory to watch the duel. So instead of stationary stands, the stands move as we duel giving the watchers a live view of where we are. And because of Factory magic, it works out quite nicely. And yes, they also have screens and all of that stuff.

But back to my snap. Along with the stands, the five of us, as well as the other top four who were watching either in the stands or from a dedicated moving room I made, teleported to where the podium was.

I then had the top three take their places on the podium for the awards. Well, the Factory versions of them. I’ll be giving them the real ones later on HomeBase. It is just the show part that happens in the Factory.

… and admittedly I actually don’t have the IRL trophies made yet. I planned a winner’s trophy for everyone in the top four, but since I didn’t know who would win, I didn’t make any of them yet. Sure I can just produce one with HomeBase, but I’d rather Wilma and I make it ourselves.

So none of the top three will actually leave with their trophies, unless they are willing to wait about four to six days on HomeBase. But Myla will leave with her Card Summoner skill orb, and a handful of cards to go along with it.

Soon enough the top three were on the podium and I had generated the Factory versions of the trophies. Naturally Myla would get two trophies, one for winning and one for beating me.

I began with Legio. He came in third so a bronze statue was made for him. Well, will be. It had a bronze figure of Red Nova Dragon, with Flare and Chain Resonators next to it. That is because Red Nova was his boss monster, and Flare and Chain some of his best Resonators. And I didn’t want to add too many monsters since this is just the bronze trophy.

For Saffee, her silver trophy had both Shooting Quasar Dragon and a smaller Shooting Star Dragon. I also added in Formula Synchron. The Formula Synchron was riding on a road that resembled Starlight Junktion. Shooting Star Dragon was flying along the road and Shooting Quasar Dragon was flying behind the two.

Lastly, Myla’s gold trophy had all of her Aroma monsters. In the center was an oversized Aroma Jar, which I actually plan on having it be a working aroma jar in the real trophy. I would have used The Aromatic World Tree for the center, but someone didn’t tell me they made that custom card. But I will admit that the real trophy will actually have The Aromatic World Tree, even if this version doesn’t.

Around the Jar, or what will be the three, were all the Aroma monsters. All 10 of them. They were tending to the Jar, which again will be the tree in the real version.

I then brought out the special trophy for defeating me. It was made of mithril, giving it a nice blue-ish shine, which matched my Anti Granels and Astro Deus. The monsters that appeared on the statue were Astro Deus and the three Anti-Synchro Emperors.

I then gave a short speech, thanking all the competitors that took place in my first live streamed tournament, congratulated the top three one more time and then I let my monsters take it from there for the ending show of the tournament.

----------------------------------------

I regrouped with the final three on HomeBase, and as a reminder, all of the top 16 are actually staying here for safety reasons and to avoid any problems.

I informed them of the situation with the trophies and then I asked if I could put up statues of the three of them in the Factory.

They understood the issue and gave me the permission to put up the statues. Luckily I saved the instance when they were standing on the podium holding their trophies, so I can just make a copy of that and place it in the tower/library room of the Factory.

I’ll also need to get in contact with the top three of my previous tournaments and ask them if I can do the same for them.

Then it was time for me to give Myla her award. The Card Summoner skill orb, two copies of each Aroma monster, except only one of each extra deck one. No Eucalyptus or World Tree though, those are still Factory only cards. I need to see if I can make Pack Opener compliant versions of them.

And I did actually have one trophy ready for Myla. That was the one for defeating me. Since it was going to be the same for whomever defeated me, I was able to have it prepared beforehand, so I gave it to her right now.

We then had a big celebration meal on HomeBase with the finalists, before everyone, except me and others who still had some work to do, headed to bed.

During the night, well early evening really, I set up the statues in the Factory as promised.

----------------------------------------

The next day, those who wanted to leave and get back to their regular lives were flown off of HomeBase by the Card Venturers. I don’t know how many times I’ll need to say it, but having that many people who can fly airships is super convenient.

However, not everyone was ready to go back just yet. Those who stayed here included Myla, who decided to wait until her trophy was finished, as well as Hiro and Saffee.

… and Hiro wasn’t the best guest to have. He, for the first time I’ve seen him, acted his age and was running around the place like an eleven year old.

I mean, I kind of get it. HomeBase is amazing and with his OP race, Hiro is able to explore the race specific parts like the underwater portions of HomeBase.

Also, ironic that I blame other races for being OP when One without a Race is the most powerful one there is. Well, One of Every Race is actually the OP part and it is a skill, but still. You can only have that skill if you have the race One without a Race.

Anyway. Hiro may or may not have demanded that I also make him a floating island to which I responded by throwing him off HomeBase.

… Okay I didn’t, but I did grab him by the neck and carried him to towards the edge of HomeBase while telling him how disappointed I was by his greed. I did stop when he begged me to.

Also, I wasn’t going to throw him off. … okay, maybe I would have but I would have caught him with Telekinesis after like 5 meters and brought him back up.

If he was actually someone evil I would have let them fall until they were only like 10 meters from the ground and then I would have teleported them back up.

But yeah. Hiro gave up on his own floating island but I did tell him that as soon as he figures out a way to produce a few million mana per day, I’ll teach him the necessary magic circles to make an island fly. And no, copying my homework wasn’t an option. Nor using people to power the thing.

I also showed Hiro the dungeon inside HomeBase. I just really wanted him to see it because it is peak isekai logic. Sure I had improved it, but you could still see some of the original things. And I added to them by showing some of my memories of the time we went through the place.

Lastly, now that it was no longer the tournament, Hiro and I had a turbo duel with the tournament rules. I ran my custom Meklords while he used his Quasar turbo deck.

I did defeat him 3-2, because Hiro wasn’t happy with the third duel of our original match of 3, but I’ll admit that it wasn’t easy and Hiro could have defeated me in the extended match had he had slightly more luck.

----------------------------------------

Soon enough Wilma and I had the trophies finished and we were ready to see off the last few people. Legio didn’t stay on HomeBase by the way, but I’ll go deliver his trophy to him myself.

So after giving Saffee her trophy and sending them off, Alice was the one taking them back, I turned to Myla.

The extra time she spent here gave me the chance to do a bit more for her. I made her a Duel Disk. The blade of the duel disk looked like the wing of the Aromaseraphy monsters, colored glass and all. I really liked it and so did Myla.

It also came with the special feature of being able to project a hardlight shield, kind of like Wilma’s duel disk. But the hardlight shield also looked like the wings of Aromaseraphy monsters, and just for some added flare, while it was active, an illusion of Sweet Marjoram would appear behind Myla and that projection is holding its wings in front of her, which form the shield.

No the illusion wasn’t actually hardlight. It would have taken too much mana to be usable without a mana transfer stone linked to HomeBase’s mana stores.

But after handing the duel disk over to her, Myla made a request. Naturally I listened but I didn’t quite expect what she asked for.

She asked for a job, and a possibility for the rest of her family to move to HomeBase. I asked if she had a specific job in mind and she wanted to work with Cailie on the CropFields.

I know Cailie can do it solo, well she does get help for harvests and plantings, but outside of those times. And it isn’t like she actually does it solo as my monsters help her, but she doesn’t need employee help.

But I still asked for Cailie’s opinion and she agreed to have Myla be her assistant. It will be good for the times she would be away from HomeBase.

I really didn’t have a reason to refuse, so I agreed to have Myla start working as soon as she was able. She didn’t have many things back ‘home’, so later that day, Myla permanently moved to HomeBase.
