“So, when is the Goddess available?” I asked Aulis.

He had turned up in the Factory while I was working on an improved miasma coin maker. It bothered me that I didn’t know how the Demon God’s device worked, so I wanted to make an upgraded version of my millstone coin maker.

It was possible because I figured out that I could use the power I currently use for the anti mind control effect to power the device itself. Basically making it so that after you get it running, as long as it has enough of the poisoned miasma to clean, it will run forever.

Sure that means it won’t work as an anti mind control device, which was what I wanted the original one to do, but at least it works.

“... I apologize, but she said she didn’t have the time.” He responded.

“... really? Or is she ignoring me because I know things she didn’t tell me?” I sighed. Loudly. “Just tell me where the fissure is going to be. I’ll deal with it. Like I always do.” I was tempted to say something about the competence of a God, but I know that will just make her drag her feet even more.

“Thank you.” Aulis responded before giving me the time, date and location.

After Aulis disappeared, Fantasia came back to the room. She helped me with my device improvements earlier, but she left when Aulis came in. I didn’t ask her to, as she’ll know what we talked about anyway, but the System Agents don’t like talking to me unless it is just us.

Speaking of Fantasia. Her current appearance is that of a thirteen year old. And I know that might sound young, since in the early days, her age grew with her level. And the Different Dimension Factory is level 24 now.

So you’d expect Fantasia to look like an adult, right? Well, she actually can. At first she did, but she didn’t like it. She said she couldn’t look older than her papa, mama and big sister, thus deciding on her current appearance.

Her clothes were still a revolving door though. I once made a Factory room to just display each outfit she’s ever worn, and there were over 1000 of them. And I do want to remind you that she hasn’t been alive for 1000 days. … well, with the Factory time dilation it actually has been more than that, but still. Thank god she can just make herself outfits as she wants, because if we actually had to physically make them, we’d need an entire team of tailors just to make all of her clothes.

And yes, I would get her one. Fantasia and Tahlia deserve everything they want.

Which will soon include their own avatar dolls.

I’ve wanted to make them their own avatar dolls for a long time, but it wouldn’t work. For one reason. They don’t technically have souls. Sure they have personalities and individualities, but they are still a part of my soul. Because of that, until I got sufficiently skilled with Soul Magic, the two could only exist in the Factory, which is my personal realm.

But now I’ve gotten to the point where I can probably produce a pseudo soul for them. And thus they can, in theory, leave the confines of my body and walk around HomeBase.

Oh, and Tahlia still looks like she always has. And her wardrobe is the same as it always has been, except that she sometimes wears suits instead of dresses when she is outside of her own room. But in her room, it is all comfy onesies.

I just hope she can decide what she will want to wear when she uses an avatar doll. Because theirs are different from the ones my monsters use. Since they will be made just for them, I kind of went all out on them, to the point where they have artificial skin and everything. But sadly because of that, the dolls don’t change to match the person using them, and it cannot make them clothes. So they have to physically get dressed up.

But that is also a good thing. They get to experience everything like regular people.

----------------------------------------

The fissure itself was about as boring as they nowadays are. I brought the Card Venturers with me since they wanted to test themselves again, and were a little disappointed that they were just the cleanup crew last time. Well, technically it was two fissures ago, but the ocean one doesn’t count since I never called them there.

So they dealt with the monsters while I just made sure nothing bothered Exodia. Not that there was anything, since the Card Venturers managed the monsters perfectly.

I suppose when you have a team of skilled adventurers, and each of them summons one or two monsters, you don’t have a lot to worry about. Sure I could just summon a God monster and it deal with everything, but that causes more environmental damage, so the cleanup takes longer.

But now back to HomeBase, and since I dealt with a fissure, I got a new set.

Legacy of the Valiant.

----------------------------------------

And you know how this goes. A new set means 10 packs. … Also, I just realized that the set code for this set is LVAL. That is almost Laval. And this set has no Laval cards. Just found that to be funny.

Spoiler

LVAL 1

Kalantosa, Mystical Beast of the Forest; Xyz Avenger; Photon Chargeman; Gravekeeper's Ambusher; Xyz Shift; Gorgonic Guardian; Chronomaly Winged Sphinx; Nikitama; Bujingi Pavo

[collapse]

Kalantosa, Mystical Beast of the Forest is cute. And I suppose the effect is okay.

Xyz Avenger is a very specific counter card to Xyz monsters, but I’ll never run into them. Need to keep it in mind for the Xyz tournament though.

Photon Chargeman can make its attack 2k, but it can’t attack the turn you do that and the attack goes back to normal during your next standby. So it is basically just a tribute fodder for Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon.

Gravekeeper's Ambusher is a Gravekeeper. And not the best Gravekeeper out there.

Xyz Shift isn’t that good. Sure it has its uses, but it would be much better if it was a quickplay, so you could use it to dodge effects.

Gorgonic Guardian is nice. Attack reduction and effect negation are great. And to top it off, it can destroy stuff with 0 attack.

Chronomaly Winged Sphinx is not that good. You need to tribute summon it, and sure you get to special a level 5 Chronomaly from the GY, but still.

Nikitama is good Spirit monster support, but I don’t use Spirit monsters.

And Bujingi Pavo is … alright. You do get a special summon from the deck, which I love, but it is situational and expensive. Still, I might use it at some point to get some Bujins.

Next pack.

LVAL 2

Alpacaribou, Mystical Beast of the Forest; Sylvan Blessing; Luminous Dragon Ritual; Deep-Space Cruiser IX; Gravekeeper's Ambusher; Gorgonic Guardian; Sirenorca; Overlay Booster; Ghostrick Dullahan

[collapse]

Alpacaribou, Mystical Beast of the Forest is interesting. I’ll probably give some copies out to those who use Beast-type monsters at least. Maybe even some Plant and Winged Beast users. The protection it offers is that good. I just feel like there were better monsters to protect Plant monsters, but not sure about Winged Beasts.

Sylvan Blessing sucks. Way too costly.

Luminous Dragon Ritual is a decent Ritual Spell. And it even has a GY effect for some added utility.

Deep-Space Cruiser IX is an easy special summon, but its stats suck so you basically have to use it for an Xyz summon.

Sirenorca is cool for some very specific decks. She also looks cool, so I’ll need to ask if Cailie wants a copy.

Overlay Booster is a free special summon, and it can banish itself to boost the attack of an Xyz monster.

And Ghostrick Dullahan is fine. Sadly having an attack halving attack on a monster with 1k attack really isn’t that impressive. And it only gains attack for each Ghostrick card you control, not the ones in the GY. … which I suppose does include itself, as well as all Spells and Traps. So it realistically will be more like 2k or more attack, so a bit better. Still not as good as it could be.

LVAL 3

Bujingi Swallow; Black Brachios; Gorgonic Cerberus; Bujin Regalia - The Jewel; The Monarchs Awaken; Mighty Warrior; Majiosheldon; Mystic Macrocarpa Seed; Bujinunity

[collapse]

Bujingi Swallow allows a Bujin monster to attack twice, but other monsters cannot attack.

Black Brachios changes battle positions, so not that great, but it does have 1800 attack. And it is a potential food source. Dinosaur meat is no dragon meat, but it does taste good.

Bujin Regalia - The Jewel is an attack boost and allows for the adding of Xyz material.

The Monarchs Awaken is a meh trap. Like it isn’t bad, but Monarchs really don’t need it.

Mighty Warrior is also meh. 2200 isn’t that much and the burn is only for half the attack of the monster it destroyed.

Majiosheldon is a bad tribute material.

Mystic Macrocarpa Seed can reduce levels, and it is a Tuner.

And Bujinunity is hand refresh. Which I don’t really need.

Next pack.

LVAL 4

Tackle Crusader; Alpacaribou, Mystical Beast of the Forest; Ghostrick Yeti; Gorgonic Gargoyle; Ghostrick Jackfrost; Ghostrick Mummy; Xyz Override; Bujinunity; Number 101: Silent Honor ARK

[collapse]

Tackle Crusader looks like it should be an Ancient Gear. And honestly the effect would fit as well. But I guess it is a Rock and not a Machine.

Ghostrick Yeti gives Ghostrick monsters protection for a turn.

Gorgonic Gargoyle is a free special summon.

Ghostrick Jackfrost is a decent hand trap.

Ghostrick Mummy gives you an additional normal summon.

Xyz Override I already had, but it is new from the set. Still an okay card, but since I can just attach more material to Xyz monsters, as long as the material meets the summoning requirement, I don’t really need it.

And I also already had Number 101: Silent Honor ARK, but it is an ultra rare, so I do like getting it from the set.

LVAL 5

Deep-Space Cruiser IX; Sylvan Guardioak; Sirenorca; Interplanetarypurplythorny Beast; Luminous Dragon Ritual; Gorgonic Cerberus; Kalantosa, Mystical Beast of the Forest; Ghostrick Mummy; Oath of Companionship

[collapse]

Sylvan Guardioak does stuff. Stuff that I couldn’t care about.

Interplanetarypurplythorny Beast specials itself from the GY when a monster is destroyed by battle.

Gorgonic Cerberus just makes all Rocks you control level 3 when it is normal summoned.

And Oath of Companionship is situational, but really powerful. Most ‘take control’ effects are.

Next pack.

Spoiler

LVAL 6

Duston Roller; Gorgonic Ghoul; Gorgonic Gargoyle; Starship Spy Plane; Rose Witch; Dark Artist; Ghostrick Jackfrost; White Duston; Bujinunity

[collapse]

Duston Roller just prevents a monster from being used as a material, or searches Dustons. Neither of which I need.

Gorgonic Ghoul can special summon itself if you control a Gorgonic Ghoul.

Starship Spy Plane specials itself if your opponent controls an Xyz monster, and returns a backrow to hand while at it.

Rose Witch is tribute fodder, which I don’t need. But she looks cute.

Dark Artist sucks. It would be better as a vanilla, and even then it wouldn’t be good.

White Duston is a level 1 vanilla with Ojama stats. So I’m never using it.

Next pack.

LVAL 7

Black Brachios; Gorgonic Cerberus; Purge Ray; Alpacaribou, Mystical Beast of the Forest; Photon Chargeman; Overlay Sentinel; Mighty Warrior; ZW - Asura Strike; Sylvan Marshalleaf

[collapse]

Purge Ray is … I was going to say bad, but I realized that you don’t have to tribute an Xyz monster you control. You can tribute any Xyz monster. So you can tribute one your opponent controls, and you get a Number out of it. Sure it will have no material and it has to match the Type, but still. Non targeting, tribute removal. That is quite nice. Well not for me, but in the TCG.

Overlay Sentinel has a decent GY effect that I can actually use. The on field stuff is basically meaningless.

ZW - Asura Strike is nice. 1000 attack boost and can attack all monsters. That is the good stuff.

Sylvan Marshalleaf mills stuff and pops a monster if it was milled.

Next pack.

Spoiler

LVAL 8

Ghostrick Museum; Gravekeeper's Ambusher; Rose Witch; Duston Roller; Mystic Macrocarpa Seed; Ghostrick Yeti; Snapdragon; Oath of Companionship; Sylvan Bladefender

[collapse]

Ghostrick Museum is okay, but there are better Ghostrick Field Spells. Hopefully I’ll get them all. Actually, hopefully I can combine them all into one super Field Spell.

Snapdragon is cute, but pretty useless.

And Sylvan Bladefender does usual Sylvan things. So reveal top card, mill it if it is a Plant monster, and if it is milled, it does stuff. In Bladefender’s case, it adds itself to the hand. Which I really don’t need.

Next pack.

Spoiler

LVAL 9

Dark Artist; Gillagillancer; Stand-Off; Mighty Warrior; White Duston; Ghostrick Jackfrost; Xyz Override; Ghostrick Museum; Number C69: Heraldry Crest of Horror

[collapse]

Gillagillancer is a 2200 attack monster that you can special summon under Cyber Dragon conditions. But you do take 500 damage during each end phase while it is face up.

Stand-Off has messy wording. But it negates the effects of two monsters, and prevents them from attacking and switching battle positions, protects them from being destroyed by battle and makes them unaffected by other card effects.

And Number C69: Heraldry Crest of Horror… what do I say about you? I mean, if you attack it, you die. Basically. And it can copy the name and effect of a different Xyz monster. Well it has to be an opponent’s monster, so that part is useless for me. But yeah. Anything that attacks Heraldry Crest of Horror is killed by a card effect. Nice.

Last pack of the day.

Spoiler

LVAL 10

Deep-Space Cruiser IX; Majiosheldon; Gravekeeper's Ambusher; Ghostrick Jackfrost; Kalantosa, Mystical Beast of the Forest; Mighty Warrior; Interplanetarypurplythorny Beast; Hidden Temples of Necrovalley; Bujin Arasuda

[collapse]

Holy luck. That is the fifth higher rarity card. Did they change the odds with this set or something? Sadly only the rare and ultra rare are new.

Hidden Temples of Necrovalley is just ‘you don’t get to special summon’. It is powerful and most decks need backrow removal to get around it. Sadly it is a bit difficult to get active, and you do need to protect two other cards to keep it on the field. But that is understandable for this kind of effect. Not that it is useful for me.

And Bujin Arasuda is okay. It specials itself and can get you a draw 1, discard 1 effect.

But yeah. Kind of blown away by the luck. I should probably go do something that requires a lot of luck, because I feel like I have all the luck currently.
