Yugioh Card Summoner
CH.690 Janina’s Memories
Over the next few days, Janina was obsessed with the Memory Palace. And for an understandable reason.
She’s lived for a long, long time. And during that time, she’s forgotten so many things.
It is understandable, especially when she told me that she focused on keeping a hold of some of her oldest memories. Of the times before she was the ruler of the Dragon’s coast. When she was just a dragon amongst the other dragons.
As I watched those old memories with her, I was introduced to the supreme dragon before Janina. আমিই সেই or Ami Sei. She was a serpentine dragon, like Janina, with dark purple scales. Janina told me she was a master of Space and Light Magic, which is really cool, as I’ve never met a dragon who knew Space Magic.
Also, Ami. Both Janina and Sei have the Ami prefix to their name, so I asked about it. I assumed it might be a title, but it is actually a sort of family name. It isn’t actually family, but more like a teacher to student relationship, but calling it a family name isn’t exactly wrong either.
But no, Sei isn’t Janina’s mother. Or father. Well Sei was a female dragon, so mother. Janina’s parents didn’t care for her, not that dragons usually do beyond the first few years. But they didn’t give Janina even that. So Sei, the supreme dragon at the time, became basically Janina’s mother. She took care of her, taught her how to use Magic, sent her on an adventure in a dragon avatar, and welcomed Janina back home when she returned for her journey.
Then Sei began training Janina to take over her position as the ruler of the Dragon’s Coast. And no, you don’t have to be a ‘supreme dragon’ for that. A supreme dragon is just a classification, denoting a super powerful dragon that goes beyond the usual ‘greater’ level.
As we went through all of those memories, I definitely understood why Janina wanted to hold onto them with all of her might. They really were wonderful.
To the point where watching them was the first time I saw Janian cry. I didn’t actually know that dragons can. And yes, she was in her full dragon form in the Memory Palace.
Oh, and one last thing. Time. In the Memory Palace. It is a mess. There is basically a small amount of time, about a minute, required for entering and exiting the Memory Palace, but everything else that happens there, happens outside the flow of time. So we can be there for what feels like five minutes, or five days, and on the outside the same amount of time will have passed.
Because of that, we could live for what feels like days inside the Memory Palace. I still made sure Janina and I wouldn’t forget ourselves there.

Now, to some pack opening stuff. Specifically, I think it is about time I complete another set. Shadow Specters is the oldest I have, so I’m just going to complete it.
And as always, completing a set starts with 200 packs. It will get me most things, and we can see what I’m missing afterwards.

Alright, new stuff. What to start with? Maybe the Ghostricks?
Ghostrick Lantern and Ghostrick Ghoul are fine in a Ghostrick deck, but outside of that, they are nothing special. And Ghostrick Alucard is also fine, but again, nothing crazy.
Vampire Sorcerer I already had, but Vampire Hunter is actually new. Interesting that I never got the Hunter for the Vampire mission, despite the fact that it has Vampire in the name. Maybe because it has a different OCG name or something? Vampire Hunter is a decent monster.
Bujin Mikazuchi is a Bujin. It is fine, good for the deck, but I probably won’t use it.
Dragard is fine. A bit situational maybe, but it does allow for some Rank 8 plays. And it is a cute little dragon.
Mecha Phantom Beast Kalgriffin is not the best Mecha Phantom Beast. Sure it is nice for summoning the Rank 7 MPB, but other than that, it is just a costly level 7 with not even all that great of stats.
Lady of the Lake is a decent tuner, if you are playing Noble Knights. Other than that, it is super restrictive.
Noble Knight Borz is nice. Sure it is a normal monster when it doesn’t have an equip spell, but that is fine. The effect it has is good. Just a shame it isn’t treated as a normal monster in the GY, or it would work better with Lady of the Lake.
Marina, Princess of Sunflowers is a level 8 that can’t special summon itself, and doesn’t have any sort of protection. So not worth using as a monster. But I feel like she’ll find her place on the HomeBase CropFields.
Return of the Monarchs is a decent search card. Well, it is actually great, but only in Monarchs.
Secret Sanctuary of the Spellcasters is busted. Especially if you combine it with Secret Village of the Spellcasters.
Puralis, the Purple Pyrotile is a level 2 Synchro Tuner, but it is just a worse Formula Synchron. Pretty sure it was printed because Formula was banned.
Celestial Wolf Lord, Blue Sirius has good stats and does a massive attack reduction when it dies.
And then we have the numbers.
Number 46: Dragluon is a really cool dragon. Wish it had its anime effect where it cannot be targeted by card effects or attacks when you control another dragon, but it is what it is. The best effect for me is the permanent mind control of a dragon, even if I don’t really need that.
Number 64: Ronin Raccoon Sandayu can summon super powerful tokens, which is nice.
Number C65: King Overfiend is a one sided Skill Drain. … not really. It actually just prevents effect activation. But it is still a great monster.
And last, Number C96: Dark Storm. It is nice. Reducing the attack of something to 0, while gaining all the attack they lost is great. And even if that effect doesn’t go through, Dark Storm still inflicts all the battle damage to your opponent. Not quite Yubel style, as you also take the damage, but it is still nice.

Now, what did I miss?
----------------------------------------
As it turned out, not much.
Tuning and Stardust Dragon had a limited reprint in this set.
Mistake limits me more than any opponent.
Labradorite Dragon I already had, as it is a high level tuner.
Ignoble Knight of High Laundsallyn equips a card from the deck to itself. So it can get me new Noble Arms cards.
And Meliae of the Trees is nice. Either mill a Plant or special a Plant from the GY.

But that is Shadow Specters done. Another set done, and we are slowly moving towards a complete Pack Opener. I wonder if when I finally have every card ever released, will I then get Holactie? Or maybe some other super rare card?
… and I guess I’ll update you on the Numeron Code progress. Not much new there. I have 62 Numbers and 18 Chaos Numbers. So only 2 more Number Cs and I’ll get the Numeron Code Teleportation ability.
