CH.693 Empire Mana Flowers, round 2

Today I’m heading to the Empire. And I’m planting some flowers. Not that many, the Empire is a huge country so I can’t deal with all of it, but I have enough materials for 43 more flower beds.

… but admittedly I think the Empire will need something like 70 more after today’s planting to get a matching coverage there compared to the Kingdoms. And I’ve already planted 22 there previously.

But you probably don’t care about the flower beds, the fissure detectors, the navigational devices or the Celfon network boosters I installed. Those are just the standard stuff that go with the mana flowers.

Instead, let’s go over the few things I got thanks to the flower beds.

For the first of the three rewards, I got Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL Volume 1 promotional card, which is just Kachi Kochi Dragon. The Samurai Warlords Structure Deck, the only new card in it being Shadow of the Six Samurai - Shien. The 2012 Collectible Tins, which again only had one new card, that being Dark Highlander. Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Volume 3 promotional card, which held Infernity General. And the last piece of the first reward, the Realm of the Sea Emperor structure deck. It actually had a few new cards. Atlantean Dragoons; Atlantean Heavy Infantry; Atlantean Marksman; Poseidra, the Atlantean Dragon and Call of the Atlanteans.

Now, the second reward.

Legendary Collection 3: Yugi's World + Legendary Collection 3: Yugi's World Mega Pack + Astral Pack One + Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL Volume 2 promotional card + Duelist League 15 participation cards + Onslaught of the Fire Kings Structure Deck

That was a lot, but at the same time, not that many new cards. And I won’t even bother with the reprint set, instead letting Laura go off on it and recapping the new cards.

First off, Hidden Soldiers. Not something I need.

Kanan the Swordmistress may have been good ages ago, but now she is just a weak vanilla.

Now The Seal of Orichalcos is actually very interesting for a ton of reasons. I mean, if it can pull of the anime effects, it can literally take people’s souls. And I’m guessing it can. You also can’t escape it. So I have to be careful with it.

Number 50: Blackship of Corn isn’t terrible, but more importantly, it is a Number monster, so +1 to the count.

Then the Fire monsters from the structure deck. Fire King Avatar Kirin is fine, but nothing special. Well, it is a beautiful burning horse, so if I ever need a horse like that.

Fire King Avatar Barong searches on the next standby after being destroyed.

Hazy Flame Hyppogrif gains attack and cannot be targeted, but the attack gain is slow and expensive.

Fire King High Avatar Garunix specials Fire Kings from the deck, so it is automatically busted.

Onslaught of the Fire Kings is even better, as it can special a Fire attribute Beast, Beast-Warrior, or Winged Beast monster from your Deck.

And Circle of the Fire Kings is a bad Monster Reborn replacement.

And now to the third reward.

Star Pack 2013 + Zexal Collection Tin + Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Volume 4 promotional card + Astral Pack Two + Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL Volume 3 promotional card + Super Starter Power-Up Pack + Super Starter: V for Victory

And while the Star Pack had all of 1 new card, Catapult Warrior, the Zexal Collection Tin was a goldmine. 21 of the 24 cards were new.

Dimension Wanderer; Kuriphoton; Photon Satellite and Triple Star Trion are all okay. Dimension Wanderer is naturally great with Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon, and Kuriphoton, while worse than regular or Winged Kuriboh is still fine. Triple Star Trion I won’t use, since I almost never tribute summon. And Photon Satellite is great for summoning certain Xyz monsters.

Photon Pirate and Zubaba Buster are nothing special.

Galaxy Wizard is nice, even if it isn’t the best for my use.

Photon Slasher is a free level 5.

Chachaka Archer and Dododo Warrior are okay, but kind of lack in the stat department considering their level.

And Galaxy Knight is amazing.

And no, that wasn’t all. Those were just the main deck monsters. There are still the spells, the trap, and the Xyz monsters.

Gagagashield is the single trap. Twice per turn protection from battle or card effect destruction is great.

Accellight specials a Level 4 or lower "Photon" or "Galaxy" monster from the deck.

Gagagaback is a large scale Monster Reborn, but only for Gagaga monsters destroyed by battle that turn.

Galaxy Expedition is an even more busted Accellight, since Expedition summons level 5 or higher "Photon" or "Galaxy" monsters.

Galaxy Zero is a Monster Reborn replacement, and for once it actually isn’t strictly worse.

And the last spell is Message in a Bottle, which is a very conditional triple Monster Reborn.

Now the Xyz monsters, which there are 4 of.

Number 19: Freezadon can detached materials instead of another monster.

Number 56: Gold Rat is a draw 1, shuffle 1.

Number 61: Volcasaurus can target destroy stuff.

And Starliege Paladynamo reduces the attack of a monster to 0, while also negating its effects.

Yeah, as I said, that set had a ton of stuff. And we still have 13 other new cards to go over.

Blackwing - Gram the Shining Star was the 5D’s Volume 4 promo card. And it is good.

Number 22: Zombiestein was the ZEXAL Volume 3 promo, and it has a lot of attack. And an effect negating effect, but that isn’t really worth using.

And the Super Starters had Caligo Claw Crow, which special summons itself. Gagaga Child, which special summons itself and makes its level match the level of another Gagaga monster. Magical Undertaker, which specials a Spellcaster from the GY.

Bite Bug specials itself and weakens an opposing monster. Crane Crane resurrects a level 3 from the GY.

Gentlemander specials itself and must be the attack target.

Ganbara Lancer specials another copy of itself, from hand or GY, when normal summoned.

ZW - Eagle Claw gives a Utopia a 2k attack boost, and can negate traps once per turn.

Swords of Burning Light is busted for people who don’t have other cards, as they will just last forever.

And Puzzle Reborn is a situational Monster Reborn.

So yeah. That was a lot of new stuff from the third reward. And we still have one more to go over.

The fourth. Thank god this is almost over. Don’t get me wrong, I love getting these side sets, mini sets, structure decks and promos, but they are a pain to go over.

And luckily, this last piece has something to really lift my spirits.

Battle Pack 2: War of the Giants + 2013 Collectible Tins Wave 1 + 2013 Collectible Tins Wave 2 + Astral Pack Three + Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Volume 5 promotional card + Saga of Blue-Eyes White Dragon Structure Deck + Dragons of Legend

Yeah. I think you see what I’m so excited about. But we have a few things, and cards, to go over before I get to the structure deck. Like the fact that I got a main set.

Dragons of Legend is an actual main set, but it only has 50-ish cards, and probably 5 cards per pack, so it was added to this reward. And according to Pack Opener’s set lists, Dragons of Legend was released before Primal Origin. I don’t actually have the release dates for everything, but I do have them for the main sets, structure decks and so on. Anything that has a solid ‘release date’. Don’t remember when it came to be a feature of Pack Opener, since it wasn’t at level 1. Then again, I didn’t have access to the set lists at level 1. But I know the release date wasn’t shown back when I first got the set lists. It came with one of the later level ups.

Anyway, to the new cards.

Battle Pack 2 only has Blockman.

2013 Collectors Tins Wave 1 and 2 had nothing new.

Astral Pack Three only had Curtain of the Dark Ones. Gotta love those TCG imports.

The 5D's Volume 5 was Stardust Spark Dragon. And that is really cool to have. Sure in my opinion the OG Stardust Dragon is better, but Stardust Spark Dragon is also great.

And then my lovely structure deck.

Rider of the Storm Winds is not the best Tuner by any means, but I like it. Piercing on a Blue-Eyes is fun.

Dragon Shrine is great GY setup, but I honestly want it more for Factory reasons. It might not be a Field Spell, but I can still make an area based on it. Even if it is a dragon graveyard.

Silver's Cry is a Quick-Play Monster Reborn for vanilla dragons.

Castle of Dragon Souls is another one that will be great for the Factory.

And Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon is a fantastic Synchro monster, not just for Blue-Eyes, but any deck that runs vanilla dragons and can summon it.

But that is it for today. Next time I’ll open some packs of Dragons of Legend. And maybe some Primal Origin as well.

See you then.
