CH.694 Dragons of Legend

Now, I told you last time that I’d open some Dragons of Legend packs. So let’s just get straight into it.

Spoiler

DRLG 1

Blackwing - Hurricane the Tornado; Number C5: Chaos Chimera Dragon; Train Connection; Prominence Hand; Amulet Dragon

[collapse]

Alright. As I thought, 5 cards per pack. But they are all shiny super rares, except Amulet Dragon which is secret rare.

Blackwing - Hurricane the Tornado can copy the attack stat of a Synchro monster for a turn.

Number C5: Chaos Chimera Dragon gains attack for each overlay unit it has, and can attack multiple times. But it loses attack for every attack, since you have to detach a material for an additional attack. And then it can gain more material. Pretty cool, but I feel like I have better cards that do the same. But it is a Chaos Number, so more Numeron Code chaos side.

Train Connection is an interesting attack doubler. It is permanent with minimal downsides, other than being limited in what it can be equipped to.

Prominence Hand is just ‘if you control a ‘Hand’ monster, you can special summon this card. From the hand. It is fine, just nothing special.

And Amulet Dragon is nice. Sure it is just Dark Magician riding a dragon, but it gains more attack when summoned. And if it dies, you get to resurrect a Spellcaster from the GY.

Next pack.

Spoiler

DRLG 2

Ayers Rock Sunrise; Flash Fusion; Prominence Hand; Construction Train Signal Red; Fire Hand

[collapse]

Ayers Rock Sunrise came out in this set? I thought it would have been way sooner. Well, I suppose it is a strictly better Monster Reborn for the decks that can use it, so in that way it makes sense.

Flash Fusion is just a terrible Quick-Play version of Poly.

Construction Train Signal Red is a handtrap that can take one hit for you. Kind of like a Kuriboh, but it can also protect your monsters.

And Fire Hand, when destroyed, destroys a monster your opponent controls and then summons Ice Hand from the deck.

Next pack.

Spoiler

DRLG 3

Black Wing Revenge; Train Connection; Blackwing - Oroshi the Squall; Reaper Scythe - Dreadscythe; Shooting Star

[collapse]

Black Wing Revenge summons two tokens when a Winged Beast is destroyed by battle.

Blackwing - Oroshi the Squall is a level 1 Tuner that you can special summon for free.

Reaper Scythe - Dreadscythe is a great equip spell, but it can only be equipped to Guardian Dreadscythe.

And Shooting Star destroys a card if you control a Stardust monster.

Next pack.

Spoiler

DRLG 4

Soul Charge; Final Fusion; Wiretap; Reaper Scythe - Dreadscythe; Ice Hand

[collapse]

Well hello there, Soul Charge. You aren’t OP at all or anything. Admittedly I’ll probably never use Soul Charge, as I can just use multiple Monster Reborns instead. But I suppose I could run into a situation where I have to resurrect many people while nothing having the time to use a Monster Reborn on each of them. And I have the HP to revive 40 or even 50 people in one go. As long as I throw some of the damage towards Agunan.

Final Fusion is too specific.

Wiretap is great when going against traps.

And Ice Hand is like Fire Hand, but it destroys spells and traps.

Next pack.

Spoiler

DRLG 5

Number C5: Chaos Chimera Dragon; Assault Dog; Blackwing - Steam the Cloak; Soul Charge; Legend of Heart

[collapse]

Assault Dog summons copies of itself when it is destroyed by battle.

Blackwing - Steam the Cloak summons a token when it leaves the field and can special itself from the GY.

And Legend of Heart summons Legendary Knights from the deck.

Next pack.

Spoiler

DRLG 6

Train Connection; Battle Fusion; Wiretap; Prominence Hand; Ice Hand

[collapse]

Battle Fusion is a great temporary attack boost.

Next pack.

Spoiler

DRLG 7

Shadow Impulse; Prominence Hand; Pair Cycroid; Lionhearted Locomotive; Doble Passe

[collapse]

Shadow Impulse can summon a Synchro monster with the same level and type as a destroyed Synchro. Which honestly might be busted. It should get me monsters I don’t normally have access to. I need to add it to the list of cards that do that.

Pair Cycroid is just a 1600 attack direct attacker. But it does remind me that I never did make bicycles. Maybe I still should. Or maybe I should just release some designs and let the regular people build them.

Lionhearted Locomotive has good stats, but the attack gets halved if it attacks.

And Doble Passe is situationally okay. But perhaps a bit too specific.

Next pack.

Spoiler

DRLG 8

Flash Fusion; Number 73: Abyss Splash; Sabatiel - The Philosopher's Stone; Assault Dog; Black Sonic

[collapse]

Number 73: Abyss Splash can double its own attack for the turn, but it also halves the battle damage.

Sabatiel - The Philosopher's Stone was busted as anything in the anime, but the TCG version is just okay. I need to see if I can modify it to match the anime version.

And Black Sonic is basically Mirror Force on crack. It banishes all attack position monsters you opponent controls. Sure you have to control a Blackwing monster, but still.

Next pack.

Spoiler

DRLG 9

Shadow Impulse; Reaper Scythe - Dreadscythe; Number C73: Abyss Supra Splash; Construction Train Signal Red; Fire Hand

[collapse]

Number C73: Abyss Supra Splash can give a monster attack equal to the monster it is attacking. And it cannot be destroyed by card effects if you summon it with a RUM.

Next pack.

Spoiler

DRLG 10

Wiretap; Assault Dog; Final Fusion; Reaper Scythe - Dreadscythe; Rank-Up-Magic Quick Chaos

[collapse]

And I already had RUM Quick Chaos.

Now, normally I wouldn’t do this, but Dragons of Legend is a tiny set and I already got 30 out of the 51 cards. So I’m just going to get the other 21 and I’ll complete the set.

----------------------------------------

Or apparently 18, as 3 of the 21 I already had from different sets. I already had Guardian Eatos; Number C106: Giant Red Hand and Rank-Up-Magic Admiration of the Thousands.

Spoiler

[collapse]

As for the 18 I didn’t have.

Carboneddon special summons level 7 or lower vanilla dragons. But I’m pretty sure I already have them all. One of the Hieratic monsters summoned vanilla dragons.

Kuribandit excavates cards and lets you add a Spell to your hand.

Express Train Trolley Olley gives an 800 attack boost to an Xyz monster summoned using it. Which is honestly great.

Gate Blocker does a lot. Negating Field Spell effects, preventing counters from being placed and it is the only monster that can be targeted. Sadly those are quite specific.

Lillybot specials Orbital 7 when summoned, and you can tribute it and any other Machine monsters to special summon Galaxy or Photon monsters. But only from the hand.

Magic Hand is stupid. It prevents adding cards from deck to hand, except by drawing them. But Magic Hand isn’t a handtrap. It has to be face up on the field for the effect. And you can only use it once. So your opponent can just destroy it, or bait out the effect.

Mathematician is a Foolish Burial when summoned, and then a draw 1 when destroyed.

Ra's Disciple allows you to get three tributes to the field, but it really should offer you an extra normal summon. As long as you normal summon a Divine Beast.

Guardian Dreadscythe is just a big beater that is somewhat difficult to get rid of.

Legendary Knight Timaeus banishes a spell when summoned. And if it is attacked, you get to set a spell from the GY.

Dark Magician Girl the Dragon Knight is fine. Discard a card to destroy a card is fine.

And now we get to the spells and trap.

Berserker Soul is way too situational, even if I can guarantee I always hit a monster.

Celestial Sword - Eatos is okay, but there are better equip spells.

Guarded Treasure demands that you discard 5 to activate it. Sure you get to draw 2, and you get 2 draws during each of your draw phases while it is active, but it isn’t worth it.

Mound of the Bound Creator is amazing and I’ve been waiting for it. Gotta love that protection and burn damage.

Rising Sun Slash is a Utopia only equip, but it really isn’t that good.

The Eye of Timaeus is just ‘summon a fusion’.

And Relay Soul is retarded. The anime version was kind of a cool last stand, but this one … actually, there might be situations where it can be good. Except that the two hour summon limit comes in the way. So yeah, it isn’t that great.

Spoiler

[collapse]

And now I have a completed set. Even if I just unlocked it. But it is what it is with these tiny sets.

----------------------------------------

Now, some Numeron Code news. Because I unlocked two new abilities in it.

You might assume I got one on each side, but I actually got two on the Chaos side. Still at 68/70 on the regular, so didn’t quite yet get the next one on the regular side.

So you might be like ‘how did you get two, you didn’t get that many chaos numbers’, and the answer to that is that I got an additional power at 20 chaos numbers.

The main power I unlocked at 20 Number Cs is Teleportation. I’ll test that in a second, but first the additional part.

CXyz monsters will count for the total number of Chaos Numbers, as will monsters with the same Chaos Number

I have 3 different Number C39s, so that gives me +2 to the total, as well as 7 Cxyz monsters. That brings the total number of Number C and Cxyz monsters to 29.

And since I got to above 25, I also unlocked the Brainwashing / Mind Control / Memory Manipulation ability. Yeah, it can do all of them.

Brainwashing is kind of a simple one. With it, I can make someone believe something I tell them. Well, I don’t even need to tell them that. But for example, I can tell them that the sky is green and grass is blue. And they will believe that.

Mind Control is exactly that, mind control. I get complete control over their body and mind. So if I need info from someone, I can mind control them and make them talk. But it does feel a bit iffy.

And Memory Manipulation is again just that. It changes the way someone remembers their memories. I can even make a complete fake history for them if I want.

Sadly none of these are all powerful. We didn’t test them that much, but we did do a few tests. Because of that, we figured out that the Brainwashing, Mind Control and Memory Manipulation can be broken.

Brainwashing was the easiest to break. Since it is just telling someone that something isn’t the way they think it is, having enough people tell them they are wrong eventually breaks it.

Mind Control was more difficult. Since I have active control of the person, a major shock or injury was the best way to get them out of it. You could also use magic to undo the mind control. And with some skills, you might even get yourself out of it with no outside influence.

Memory Manipulation was the most difficult to break. Two people can just remember things differently, and if multiple people start telling you you are wrong, it starts to feel like you are being gaslighted. The Memory Palace was actually one of the best ways of breaking the Memory Manipulation, as it shows the objective truth, thus recovering the original memories. But it isn’t an option for most.

Still, all of these are abilities I won’t be using, unless I absolutely must.

Now, as for the teleportation. It might seem useless as I can already teleport with magic, but it does have some uses. Mainly, it is easier, so in an emergency, it could be better. I can also just use the map our System Supports have made of the continent to point where I want to teleport to.

Also, I don’t have to teleport myself. As long as I can specify a target, I can teleport that target to me. Or I can send someone who is next to me to some other place. Sadly I can’t just freely teleport someone from somewhere to some other place. They have to either come to me, or go from me.

Also also, Numeron Code teleportation works across dimensions. So I can teleport to the Monster World with it. And if I detach my soul from my body, I can teleport to the Spirit and Demon worlds as well. Can’t go to either with my body though, I tried and it didn’t work.

I can even teleport to the parlor room we use when I meet with the System Agents. Well, we don’t use it that much anymore, since they just come to the Factory. But we used to use it a lot.

So yeah. Teleportation is useful. Cuts down the travel time if I want to visit Nir or Himeśaila in the monster world. And I can actually visit Ibu without Janina. Hopefully she won’t mind not having to act as my taxi.
