Yugioh Card Summoner
CH.697 Konami Orbs and Races
Alright. I’ll start today off by going over something Janina and I looked into after we watched her memories.
In them, we saw a dragon that had a strange orb in its body, an orb like what plenty of my monsters have. And I questioned why would a dragon have one of them.
For my cards, I can just say it is an aesthetic choice and be happy with that, but when it is an actual living being, there has to be a reason for it.
So we looked into my dragons that had those orbs. And we did figure out a few reasons to have them.
Let’s start with the biggest first, and that came courtesy of Cosmic Blazar Dragon. It has a massive orb in the center of its chest, so I had to ask it.

And in short, the orb is a protective device. It holds the dragon’s soul, while the body around the orb protects the orb. It also allows the dragon to adjust its body around the soul orb freely. And thanks to the orb holding onto what the dragon really is, the dragon will never die, unless the orb is breached and the soul inside is destroyed.
That was the first use for ‘Konami orbs’, but there are more.
Dragons like Gandora the Dragon of Destruction and All-Eyes Phantom Dragon use them as capacitors. Well, sort of. They use the orbs to store power so that they can release more in one go with minimal backlash. This is actually much more common with my dragons that the first one. And some don’t have orbs, but just crystals or gems in their body.

… The last one is the most boring. With some dragons, the orbs serve no purpose and are there just because the dragon likes how they look.
It didn’t take Janina long to come up with a way to produce one of these ‘dragon orbs’, as we renamed them. I just didn’t want to call them Konami orbs.
Sadly she couldn’t just move her soul into one and produce a body around it. Not without suffering a huge reduction in power.
I also learned how to do that, and it was actually quite nice for me. I could seal my human body inside the orb, and then use Dragonic Body and Dragonic Magic to produce a dragon body around the orb. And it really wasn’t any more difficult than turning my body into that of a dragon.
I also tried to produce those capacitor orbs, but I couldn’t quite do that. They are difficult to hold together, like trying to keep a super-critical monster core from exploding.
… actually, that should work. I might be able to turn a monster core into a capacitor orb. Sure it won’t be quite the same, but I don’t see why I couldn’t. Magic stones are made from monster cores, and they release mana. Just not quite as fast as the capacitor orbs.
But it shouldn’t be too difficult to modify the manufacturing process so that I can make either.
----------------------------------------
And as I suspected, just a few hours later we had produced the first magic capacitor stone. It wasn’t that difficult. The criticality point where the stone had to be kept at, and the compression of the stone were a bit different, but it is something anyone skilled at converting monster cores into magic stones can learn quite quickly. Well, anyone who uses the compression method. If you use the sub-critical method, you can’t actually make magic capacitor stones.
Sadly the magic capacitor stones don’t have many advantages over regular ones. They are decent for magic cannons, and might allow for the manufacturing of magic guns, but even then they just make the weapons a bit better.
A magic cannon with a magic capacitor stone would still need a regular magic stone to act as the main powersource, as the capacitor stones can’t store enough mana for more than 1 shot.
Let me actually go over how the common magical cannons work. There are two models.
One is the human model, where you have to have a human putting mana into a cannon that has a magic circle scribed on it. Then when the circle is full, a spell is launched.
The other one uses a magic stone to store mana. And when the cannon is activated, it charges the magic circle and then the cannon fires.
As you might realize, these two have a problem. It takes time to charge up a shot, and you can’t hold the charge.
And yes, you could solve that issue with a magic cannon that uses a magic capacitor stone. You have the main magic stone charge the capacitor stone, and then when you want to fire, the magic capacitor stone charges the magic circle and fires the shot off in a near instant.
Still, that might be needlessly difficult and it will wear down the magic circle faster than the regular method. So despite the fact that I sent the info about the magic capacitor stones and the new model cannons to the Sage’s tower, I don’t think they will be popular.
On the other hand, in a magic gun they could be useful. You’d be working with lower amounts of mana, and the usual problem of the slow filling of the magic circle is one of the big problems with handheld magic cannons. They don’t actually call them guns.
Basically, you could charge the magic capacitor stone with your own mana, and then when you need to fire, your gun is ready to go. Sure you have to reload after each shot, but it might be useful in some cases.
Sadly it falls into the same issue as many other guns do. It doesn’t get a boost from your stats. Since it is the magic capacitor stone that charges the magic circle, no power boost. So it will only really be useful for low leveled people. Like those under level 50. And I know most will say that level 50 is quite high, but that is the point where the gun really isn’t helpful at all. Even for a level 35, it would only be good for taking care of small fry.
But for a level 5, it would be good. They can charge it up slowly and then have one powerful attack available. Sadly most level 5 people would never have the money to purchase one of them.
----------------------------------------
Now, to some reverse unions. My monsters got their rank ups a few days ago, and I think they are ready for reverse unions.
Starting with Rani. Like always, I could do two different kinds of reverse unions with Rani. One where I ended up as a centaur and another one where I ended up as a horse-folk. Well, Horse-Kin this time. Both came with a ‘Silver’ prefix this time, which is a modifier race.
The ‘silver’ modifier race is very rare with people. But it is a bit more common in monsters. For me, it came with the Silver Hide racial skill, which is just a general defense boosting skill.
Next was Glad. I don’t often do reverse unions with Glad, mainly because he doesn’t like it. And the Hippogriff-kin race isn’t one I enjoy using. … yeah, I got that the first time I did a reverse union with Glad. It is an extremely furry and feathery race, with fur or feathers covering almost my whole body. It basically has the lower body of a horse-folk, so feet ending in hooves. And your arms are like eagle claws, with long talons. Also wings. It is a really strong race when it comes to flight and fighting in the air, as the claws and wings are really strong. But I don’t like the race because it shifts my face to resemble that of a birds. It just feels uncomfortable.
Also, I can just use one of my other races, Tengu, instead. With an actual person, Hippogriff-kin might be seen as the stronger race, but for me, it isn’t. Tengu does everything Hippogriff-kin does for me, and since my stats are the same, it doesn’t matter.
I also got the Phantom Sorcerer class race. It came with the racial skill Phantom Magic. It is a form of Dark Magic that specializes in making you be unseen and making your opponent see, hear and feel things that aren’t there.
It can also be used to interact with ghosts and souls outside of bodies.
Aoi Koiru didn’t offer me anything new. She is still just a fairly basic snake, so I just turned into snake-folk when doing a reverse union with her.
With Mothra, I gained Lightwave Sorcerer. And Lightwave Magic. It is actually pretty basic when it really comes down to it. It can manipulate light, like Light Magic can. It might be able to do some cooler things, I mean just look at Galaxy-Eyes Lightwave, I mean Cipher Dragon. I’ll need to study under the dragon with Mothra. We might learn how to take control of our opponents and turn them into copies of us.
I wasn’t quite ready to reverse union with Natrix yet. I’ll give it a bit more time.
So the last one that experienced a level up is Luna. And this was actually the first time I did a reverse union with her. I got Owl-folk, which is basically just an alternative to Bird-folk. It does have some night related skills, the one I got was Night Vision. Not all that useful, as my Enhanced Vision already lets me see quite well in the dark.
… okay, I'll take that back. With the two skills stacked, I can see much better in the dark. Not quite ‘bright as day’ level, but I think after a few levels into Night Vision, I’ll get there.
Also Moon Sorcerer and Moon Magic from the Moon-Force part of Luna. Yeah, I didn't expect that. Moon Magic is a form of Space Magic. Though it is also somewhat like Gravity Magic. Being a mix of the two is strange and it will take some time getting used to.

Also, you might notice a few other new things in the menu. Gender Change now allows me to go to a genderless variant, which really doesn’t serve a purpose. It is basically the middle ground between male and female, but when would I need that?
Second, I’ve gained the ability to have up to five tails. Still slowly working up towards the nine.
And third, I can have up to six arms now with Multi-Armed. I don’t use it like ever, as Magical Arms is better.
Last, Body of a Soul. I think you can guess where that came from. Yeah. Form the synchro unions with Pele and Varuna. And it does help while doing those. It came with Reinforced Soul, which is just Soul Magic resistance. Kind of unnecessary when I can wear the Protection of Ami. But it does help the synchro union, so I’ve been leveling it up.
Also, since I mentioned it, Protection of Ami actually prevents me from doing a synchro union. It has complete immunity to Soul Magic, and the synchro union uses some Soul Magic, so I can't do it while wearing it. I can wear it after I've already performed it, but not before. Same with spirit synchro.
