After a long night of sleep, we began to wake up. Sleeping on Janina was something I was somewhat used to, though I generally slept with her in my dragon form. The others weren’t, but Janina is comfortable to sleep on, as long as she doesn’t enter her ‘auto defense’ mode.

Yeah, she can do that. I think I’ve mentioned it a few times, but when a skilled enough dragon leaves their body without their soul, their body enters a sort of hibernation state. But if the body is attacked, it will strike back with all of its might.

And while Janina doesn’t usually enter that auto defense mode in her sleep, she admitted she wasn’t sure if she would when sleeping with others. Maybe she has gotten used to sleeping with me and thus didn’t even more during the night.

I first assumed that I was the first to wake up, but Janina was actually already awake. She was looking at us with her giant eye, just watching us sleep on her.

“Good morning.” I whispered, as to not wake up the others.

(Morning.) Janina responded, sending her thoughts directly to my brain. I would have been taken back, but since it is basically the same as how our System Supports communicate with us, I was used to it.

I walked up to her head and sat down next to it.

“Sorry about yesterday. I really wish something like that didn’t ruin your birthday.”

(It isn’t your fault.) Janina responded. (Besides, nothing was ruined. None of us were hurt and we defeated the threat. It is honestly much better than I wished when I heard another one of those creatures had woken up.)

“Well, I’m glad to hear that the day wasn’t ruined.” I told her, still whispering. “... also, I wanted to give you something yesterday, but never got the chance.” As I said that, I brought out a gift from Storage.

It was a large cuff bangle like piece of jewelry. Well, it doesn’t have a jewel, so technically it isn’t, but you get the point. And it wasn’t designed to go around Janina’s wrist, but instead around her body.

It was made from dragon scales, but not ones I’ve obtained from any dragon. They were actually my own dragon scales from my dragon form. After I got Regeneration to high levels, I just peeled off enough scales for the bangle. It didn’t feel nice, but I did it. Sadly I’ve still to figure out how to do an entire scale shedding as a dragon, so I had to do it that way.

And using what we learned while making the dragon scale armors, I made a dragon scale bangle. And naturally it holds a magic stone I made. And since it is for Janina, I used an S-rank stone as the base, and barely compressed it. It doesn’t have to be small for her, as she is huge.

Janina looked at it for a while, but eventually she wanted me to put it on her. I did as asked, and I have to say, I like how it looks on Janina. Yes I could have come to that conclusion using a Factory replica of Janina and the bangle, but I didn’t want to since I could just wait for the real deal.

(... Thank you.) Janina sent her thoughts to my brain.

“Of course. I made a promise, right? … I did, right? I promised to get strong enough so that we can have a child together. I’m not forgetting when I promised, am I?” I began to question myself as I legitimately couldn’t remember if I ever promised that.

(Even if you never promised, I knew you would do your best.) Janina said. (And you promised just now as you gave me your scales.)

“... yeah.”

(Speaking of scales. We missed yesterday’s feeding because of the mess, but you can eat your scale dust now.) Janina said.

I took out the crushed scale powder from Storage, Janina used some magic on it, and I ate it, washing it down with just water. The scale didn’t really taste like anything, so it was kind of like taking medicine.

(How much do you have left?) Janina asked.

“Not that much.” I told her. “Wish the blessing would have been completed before your birthday, but it will be done before the year ends.”

(Good. I think the others would be disappointed if it wasn’t.)

“Yeah. You and your wedding plans.” I told her, knowing the six of them had planned out our wedding, and apparently it will happen on the Goddess’ day. I had nothing against it, and I honestly let them take the lead on that. I have too many other things already. And I really wouldn’t even need a wedding ceremony or anything. It just isn’t something I need. But Lua, Alice and Unika all really wanted one. Cailie was on board, even if it isn’t quite what she is used to. Wilma was like me and didn’t care that much, but went along with it anyway. And Janina doesn’t care, but is also going to be there.

Janina and I talked about nothing while waiting for the others to wake up. Out of them, Cailie was the first. She swam to us and cuddled my side while we both leaned on Janina. From there, Unika was next, followed by Wilma, Lua and last was Alice.

We then had breakfast before heading out of Janina’s cave. By the cave entrance there was a small pile of gifts from the other dragons, as well as the gift Agunan and Ria brought. Sadly they couldn’t give it to Janina yesterday, as we were busy.

Janina looked over everything and brought it to the Storage room in her cave. She laid things out in spots, explaining to us why she placed things where she did.

Now you might ask why she wouldn’t just store it with her storage magic, and the answer to that is because her magic isn’t limitless like my Storage skill is. So she can’t just keep everything there.

Besides, things being here makes it so she can appreciate them whenever she wants.

We then began talking about the rewards the six of us got for dealing with the tree.

Mine was a simple one. I got a level up to Pack Opener, and I opened a new set.

The set I got wasn’t actually the next on the list, but instead a special one. Well, technically 5, but 3 of those are the same and two others are promo trades.

I got all the Dark Side of Dimensions movie packs, the theater distribution cards and the Special Edition promos.

All three of the Movie Packs have the same cards, with like one or two differences. Like the Gold Edition has Krystal Dragon whereas the original doesn’t. And the Secret Edition includes Slifer and Obelisk as well. And naturally they are printed in different rarities.

But I’ll go over the cards I can get thanks to this later. And trust me, they will get the time they deserve, as the sets contain Blue-Eyes cards.

My reward also included one more thing, but it actually wasn’t for me. It was a little something for Janina. A skill orb. One containing the Appraisal skill. I was tasked with handing it over.

… except that the Gods had somehow forgotten the small fact that Janina can’t use skill orbs. They interact with the System, so without it, she couldn’t use it. While my cards can give her a new ability, a skill orb only gives a skill, thus it didn’t work.

So someone else had to use it. And to that, Janina handed it to me and demanded that I use it. I was tempted to argue, to say that Lua might get more use of it, but admittedly I could use the skill, so I used the orb and gained the Appraisal skill.

Alice got a new racial skill, Sorceress of Magic. It is a similar skill to Lua’s old Monarch of Magic, but even more powerful. It was originally limited to some other races, but the System Gods allowed Alice’s unique race to have access to it, and she got the skill. And since it is a regular racial skill, it can be leveled up with Level Up! And one last thing. We got the information that they are working on an evolution for Alice’s race, so she might soon evolve.

Lua got her Holy Magic evolved. It became Angelic Holy Magic. And her Corrupted Healing evolved into Fallen Angel’s Corrupted Healing. And while Angelic Holy Magic is a skill that people have held before, Fallen Angel’s Corrupted Healing was a new skill that was held by anyone for the first time. Luckily it was still just an extra skill and not a unique one.

And the last three all got two things. The first they all shared. A simple, but very impactful upgrade. All three of them had their System Supports upgraded from Standard to Advanced.

This might seem like a nothing burger of a reward, but it clearly shows that we got another one of the System Gods onto our side. There is no way all three of them would have gotten an upgrade otherwise.

Now to their individual rewards. With Cailie, her Purifying Winds evolved into Sprite-Purifying Winds. They had stolen some of the tech of my Sprite Purifying Mirror and had tossed it onto the skill, making it more powerful.

Wilma gained a new skill called Weapon Master. It is usually a skill limited to the Weapon Master race, and to unlock the race you need many weapon technique skills at pretty high levels, making it quite the rare race. Well, I might actually unlock it soon, but that is something for another day. It will likely help her when she wields the Star series, so it is nice to have.

Unika got herself a new skill as well. Healing of the Sun. It is a rare skill that some advanced Plant-folk races can get. It is basically upgraded photosynthesis. It allows her to quickly regenerate both HP and Mana while basking in the Sun. She can also guide that healing and mana regen to other people near her.

And considering that she can make a temporary, miniature sun, she might be able to use that to heal people as well. So it will likely be a really useful skill.

Sadly I, or we really, couldn’t spend the entire day just cuddling the giant dragon, and we had to return home. So after Janina re-created her scale copy, I took a hold of everyone and teleported us back to HomeBase.
