Yugioh Card Summoner
CH.705 Generic Pack Opening chapter title number #25
Finally I’m done with everything related to the immortal tree. Well, I should show our statuses, but we are about to get married and after that, everyone will have a change of name, so I’ll go over them then.
But I feel like I need to unwind, and I think some packs will do it. Yes I opened some movie packs, but those were a part of the mess, so … okay, they were actually a lot of fun. And I might be working on a custom Fusion monster now that I can use Chaos MAX as a material. But that will come later.
… what? You don’t want to see Blue-Eyes Chaos Ultimate Dragon? Then I guess we don’t have that much to talk about.
But that is for another day. Today I’m just opening packs. I have three sets I’ve yet to fully complete, so I think I’ll just do ten packs of each.
Starting with Duelist Alliance.
Now, since I’ve already opened 30 packs of Duelist Alliance previously, I’m not expecting many new cards. Thus I’ll only be commenting on packs with new cards.

DUEA 5
Number 58: Burner Visor; Superheavy Samurai Blue Brawler; Hippo Carnival; That Six; Yang Zing Prana; Stellarnova Wave; Wightprince; U.A. Mighty Slugger; Shaddoll Fusion
[collapse]
Okay, the first new things. U.A. Mighty Slugger is fine as far as I can tell. Admittedly I’ve never used a U.A. deck, but Slugger seems nice.
And Shaddoll Fusion is fantastic. One of the best Fusion spells ever printed, up there with stuff like Brilliant Fusion. Sure it isn’t all that useful for me as I have unlimited searching, but it is still great.
Spoiler
DUEA 6
Satellarknight Vega; Spy-C-Spy; Feast of the Wild LV5; Stellarknight Alpha; Artifact Lancea; Cloudcastle; Battleguard Rage; Gaia, the Polar Knight; Shaddoll Beast

Spoiler
DUEA 10
That Six; Artifact Lancea; Superheavy Samurai Swordsman; Pop-Up; Hippo Carnival; Performapal Skeeter Skimmer; Metaphys Armed Dragon; Feast of the Wild LV5; U.A. Mighty Slugger
[collapse]
… welp, two new things. That isn’t good. Yes those two new cards were decently nice, but still quite bad to only get them. Also, Shadoll Fusion was the only higher rarity card I got, so that is also bad.
But now, set change.
----------------------------------------
Hopefully The New Challengers will be better. And same rules as before. Nothing new means no comment.
Spoiler
NECH 1
Qlipper Launch; Hexatellarknight; Superheavy Samurai Soulbreaker Armor; Superheavy Samurai Soulbang Cannon; Qlimate Change; Toy Vendor; Superheavy Samurai Soulfire Suit; Scrounging Goblin; Fluffal Owl
[collapse]
Superheavy Samurai Soulfire Suit is okay. The equip to make the monster level 5 feels unnecessary, as you don’t really need level 5 monsters in Superheavy Samurai. But the discard for a turn of protection is nice.
And Fluffal Owl is pretty cool. It searches for Poly when summoned. Or you can pay 500 life points to fuse without having to use Poly. Just a shame you can only use one of those effects per turn.
Spoiler
NECH 2
Shogi Lance; Fluffal Bear; Cursed Bamboo Sword; Yang Zing Brutality; Strike of the Monarchs; Fluffal Leo; Superheavy Samurai Soulfire Suit; Laser Qlip; Alich, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss
[collapse]
Spoiler
NECH 3
Satellarknight Procyon; Elegy the Melodious Diva; Toy Vendor; Lindbloom; Yang Zing Brutality; Superheavy Samurai Soulfire Suit; Superheavy Samurai Soulbang Cannon; Fluffal Rabbit; Calcab, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss
[collapse]
Spoiler
NECH 4
Ms. Judge; Lindbloom; Serenade the Melodious Diva; Celestia; Superheavy Samurai Soulbreaker Armor; Strike of the Monarchs; Fluffal Rabbit; Performapal Cheermole; Qliphort Carrier
[collapse]
Performapal Cheermole has a generic but nice Pendulum effect. Sure it is only +300 attack, but I like attack boosts. And its monster effect allows it to either strengthen a monster that has already had its attack boosted, or to weaken a monster that has had its attack reduced.
Qliphort Carrier is fine. The 300 attack boost could be useful, sometimes. And the effect when tributed it also okay.
Spoiler
NECH 5
Satellarknight Procyon; Magical Star Illusion; Cursed Bamboo Sword; Different Dimension Encounter; Superheavy Samurai Soulbreaker Armor; U.A. Powered Jersey; Command Performance; Alich, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss; Fusion Reserve
[collapse]
Fusion Reserve is nice. Adding a named fusion material to the hand is good. … wasn’t there a spell that did that? Fusion Conscription I believe? When was that printed? But that one didn’t let you add a Poly from the GY to hand.
Spoiler
NECH 6
Mimiclay; Satellarknight Betelgeuse; Toy Vendor; Elegy the Melodious Diva; Performapal Revival; Block Spider; Hexatellarknight; Taotie, Shadow of the Yang Zing; U.A. Midfielder
[collapse]
Taotie, Shadow of the Yang Zing is nice. It specials a Yang Zing monsters when destroyed. It also allows for Synchro summons during the opponent’s turn.
Spoiler
NECH 7
Shaddoll Hound; Superheavy Samurai Soulbang Cannon; Ruffian Railcar; Toy Vendor; Canon the Melodious Diva; Watch Dog; Fluffal Rabbit; U.A. Midfielder; Number 39: Utopia Beyond
[collapse]
Spoiler
NECH 8
Oracle of the Herald; Lindbloom; Canon the Melodious Diva; Fluffal Bear; Fluffal Leo; Magical Star Illusion; Laser Qlip; Elegy the Melodious Diva; Xyz Change Tactics
[collapse]
Xyz Change Tactics lets you draw a card each time a Utopia monster is Xyz summoned. Which can be quite good, as you can always freely rank up the OG Utopia into Utopia Ray or Prime, and then into Lightning, giving you 3 draws for 2 materials and 1500 LP. Just a shame you can’t summon Prime with Ray or you could get 4.
Spoiler
NECH 9
Fluffal Bear; Wonder Balloons; Dododo Driver; Superheavy Samurai Kabuto; Block Spider; Superheavy Samurai Soulshield Wall; Superheavy Samurai Soulbang Cannon; Performapal Cheermole; Herald of Ultimateness
[collapse]
Herald of Ultimateness is really freaking nice. For me, it is basically unlimited negates. I can just add more and more fairies to my hand, so I’ll be able to negate anything and everything my opponent tries to do.
Spoiler
NECH 10
Dododo Driver; Canon the Melodious Diva; Superheavy Samurai Soulbreaker Armor; Cursed Bamboo Sword; SZW - Fenrir Sword; Command Performance; Fluffal Rabbit; Fluffal Cat; Shopina the Melodious Maestra
[collapse]
Fluffal Cat just adds Poly from GY to hand when it is used as a Fusion material. Which is actually quite nice for a Fluffal deck.
I have to say, The New Challengers was a lot nicer to me than Duelist Alliance. 5 higher rarity cards and only 1 was a repeat.
Now, one more set to go.
----------------------------------------
That set is of course Secrets of Eternity. And since I’ve only opened 10 packs of it thus far, I’ll be going over each pack. So if there is nothing new, you will hear it.
Let's just get into it.
Spoiler
SECE 1
Constellar Twinkle; Uni-Zombie; Dododo Swordsman; Morphtronic Smartfon; Performapal Fire Mufflerlion; Blaze Accelerator Reload; Performapal Call; Raidraptor - Rise Falcon; Frontline Observer
[collapse]
Blaze Accelerator Reload is cool. It combines with some of the Volcanics for a field nuke.
Performapal Call is nice… until you read the last restriction which makes the card basically unplayable.
Frontline Observer does a double search. Sometimes. It searches once during your end phase of the turn it was summoned, then, if it somehow survives to your opponent’s end phase, you can tribute it for another search. So it is nice, but it won’t survive.
Next pack.
Spoiler
SECE 2
Infernoid Seitsemas; Raidraptor - Vanishing Lanius; Gogogo Golem - Golden Form; Superheavy Samurai Soulbeads; Deskbot 003; Constellar Twinkle; Performapal Fire Mufflerlion; U.A. Turnover Tactics; Swordsman of Revealing Light
[collapse]
Raidraptor - Vanishing Lanius is one of the best Raidraptors. Just the number of summons it can give you is so nice. I also just like the green color Vanishing Lanius is. Just makes it look nice.
Deskbot 003 specials Deskbots from the deck. And can give Deskbot an attack boost.
Next pack.
Spoiler
SECE 3
Deskbot 003; Spiritual Beast Rampengu; Satellarknight Capella; Constellar Twinkle; Illusion Balloons; Performapal Spikeagle; Toy Knight; Tenacity of the Monarchs; Qliphort Cephalopod
[collapse]
Illusion Balloons can special summon a Performapal from the deck. But the problem is the reveal part. That part is always card specific, so I’m not quite sure how it will work with Illusion Balloons.
Tenacity of the Monarchs searches for Monarchs spells or traps.
And Qliphort Cephalopod is fine. About as good as most of the main deck Qliphorts.
Next pack.
Spoiler
SECE 4
Dragunity Divine Lance; Infernoid Piaty; Illusion Balloons; Performapal Partnaga; Last Minute Cancel; Wall of Disruption; Re-qliate; Performapal Trump Witch; Superheavy Samurai Flutist
[collapse]
Superheavy Samurai Flutist is okay. You can tribute it to special a Superheavy Samurai from the hand. And you can banish it from the GY to negate effects that target Superheavy Samurais.
Next pack.
Spoiler
SECE 5
Gogogo Talisman; Performapal Call; Gem-Knight Lapis; Deskbot 003; Zenmaiday; Performapal Partnaga; Ritual Beast Ambush; Illusion Balloons; Nekroz Cycle
[collapse]
Gem-Knight Lapis is just a weak vanilla, but she is cute.
Next pack.
Spoiler
SECE 6
Echo Oscillation; Performapal Friendonkey; Spiritual Beast Rampengu; Performapal Call; Last Minute Cancel; Unpossessed; Infernoid Seitsemas; Yosenju Tsujik; Cagna, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss
[collapse]
Echo Oscillation is a bad draw 1 as you have to destroy a Pendulum scale for it.
Next pack.
Spoiler
SECE 7
Superheavy Samurai Soulpiercer; Gem-Knight Lapis; Dododo Witch; Performapal Spikeagle; Performapal Fire Mufflerlion; Infernoid Seitsemas; Performapal Friendonkey; Yosenju Magat; Cagna, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss
[collapse]
Nothing new here, next.
Spoiler
SECE 8
Infernoid Piaty; Performapal Fire Mufflerlion; Soul Strike; Superheavy Samurai Soulpiercer; Gogogo Golem - Golden Form; Extra Net; Raidraptor - Vanishing Lanius; Legendary Maju Garzett; Performapal Trump Witch
[collapse]
Nothing new here, next.
Spoiler
SECE 9
Soul Strike; Dragunity Divine Lance; Satellarknight Capella; Yosenju Tsujik; Ritual Beast Ambush; Extra Net; Gogogo Golem - Golden Form; Infernoid Attondel; U.A. Playmaker
[collapse]
U.A. Playmaker is fine. Sadly the effect of transferring 800 of its own attack to another U.A. monster isn’t the best, but it does make sense in a U.A. deck. You’ll just return Playmaker to the hand and resummon it so it will have all of its attack back. But I just feel like the 800 could be 1000 or even 1200.
Next, and last, pack.
Spoiler
SECE 10
Wall of Disruption; Yosenju Magat; Gem-Knight Lapis; Uni-Zombie; Constellar Twinkle; Performapal Call; Yosenju Tsujik; Legendary Maju Garzett; U.A. Playmaker
[collapse]
Sadly the last pack had nothing new. But Secrets of Eternity wasn’t too bad for me. I did get 3 higher rarity cards, even if one was a repeat. And only 3 packs had nothing new in them.
