Zombie Apocalypse: I Have Safe Zone Superpower
Chapter 259: Boundaries
CHAPTER 259: CHAPTER 259: BOUNDARIES
Silence.
For a moment, the Nightbane siblings froze, their expressions looking comical due to the similarity, yet Ivy didn’t budge.
Finally, they blinked, before an innocent expression spread across their face. "Ivy, why are you getting angry?"
"Because I understand your feelings, and I feel the same; however, Silas is my priority too. If you constantly put him down and try to separate him from me... I will hurt." Ivy’s soft voice was filled with steadiness.
"But..." Ember began; however, Kael stopped her and motioned her to listen.
Ivy’s heart softened at her big brother’s understanding nature, and she continued,
"We are husband and wife, and nothing can change that. I need some privacy time with him, and I don’t want you all to call him words like bastard and such."
Looking at the sad expression on Ember and Felix’s faces, she sighed.
"Can you please not fight with him but be with him? You both are my world. One is my family, and one is my lover; I can’t choose between them. I hope you understand."
Ember was the first one to give a guilty smile. "Sorry, Ivy... I didn’t know I was making things harder for you. I just... I was scared he might take you away from us again."
Ivy’s heart clenched. She slowly stepped forward and wrapped her arms around Ember, who stiffened for a second before melting into her embrace.
"You’ll never lose me," Ivy whispered softly. "But Silas is a part of me now. If you hurt him, it’s like hurting me too."
Ember nodded against her shoulder. Kael let out a deep sigh, rubbing the back of his neck. "I think... she’s right. We’ve been acting like children, competing for your attention when we should’ve been grateful you’re even here."
Felix looked down, his brows furrowed. "I just wanted to protect you, Ivy. After what you went through, I didn’t want you getting hurt again."
"I know," Ivy said gently, her eyes shimmering. "And I’m thankful for that. But protecting me doesn’t mean pushing away someone who also wants the same for me."
The siblings exchanged glances before Kael finally chuckled faintly, the tension easing. "Alright, alright... No more arguments. We’ll try to get along with your husband. Though..." his lips twitched, "don’t expect us to stop teasing him completely."
Ivy gave a helpless laugh, her eyes softening. "As long as it’s teasing and not fighting, I’ll take it."
Just then, a familiar voice came from behind her. "I see I’ve been promoted from enemy to teasing target."
Silas leaned against the doorway, arms crossed, his lips curved in an amused smirk.
To Felix, Silas looked like a peacock showing off, but remembering his sister’s words, he decided to act nice and bowed, "I am sorry for my previous rude behavior."
"No biggie." Silas gave a gentle smile; his glowing face was a bit glaring to the Nightbane sibling, but they endured.
Silas’s bright mood soared. He was able to have fun with his wife, and she even took a stand for him. What more could he ask for?
Nothing!
Ember yawned suddenly, and even Ivy felt sleepy, so they all decided to sleep.
Felix loved the temporal storage to the point that he didn’t want to leave at all. Even Ember and Kael couldn’t resist the temptation.
In the past few months, the scorching sun and the heat waves have almost made them never have a good sleep.
After Ivy’s arrival, though the heat was decreased to a certain degree, they didn’t want to return to the smelly house.
Instead, the temporal storage was entirely different, with a good atmosphere, gentle breeze, and occasionally a light fragrance of fresh grass, which made them feel clear-headed and relaxed.
Even when they had a huge amount of wealth to their name, they hardly got the chance to see such a beautiful place.
Ivy simply built 5 to 6 houses and decorated them.
The Nightbane siblings and Silas saw everything with their eyes and were stunned. Honestly, they had never seen such a magical scene before.
"Wow... Ivy, can you move these buildings outside this storage space?" Felix asked with a bright gaze.
"I can." Ivy chuckled, hearing his childlike voice.
"So can you wave your hand and directly place these buildings on a horde of zombies and kill them in a wave?" Felix continued, but his words made Ivy freeze.
She never considered using the temporal storage as an offensive item and always considered it to be a defensive item.
Silence settled for a heartbeat as Felix’s suggestion hung in the air.
"No." Ivy shook her head; a glint flashed in her eyes as she said, "But I will try."
"Really? Don’t forget to demonstrate in front of me!" Felix left the statement and started to explore the house.
After the siblings chose their respective houses, they fell asleep.
For the past three days, they were busy taking care of Ivy and hardly had a good sleep. But now... with a cozy, warm bed, they decided to sleep till they woke up naturally.
When Helena and Victor returned, Ivy asked them to rest too, and she left with Silas to sleep.
Silas’s warm embrace and his steady breathing calmed Ivy, and slowly she fell asleep too.
Maybe she was tired from the strenuous exercise before, or maybe it was because she had finally let go of the burden weighing her down; Ivy slept till the afternoon of the next day.
Griggily, she rubbed her eyes and took a quick shower before exiting the house.
She could hear the sound of laughter and chatting and thought that her parents and Silas were chatting, but when she opened the door, her heart skipped a beat.
Standing outside her door were some strange humans.
Rather than calling them strange humans, it was more appropriate to call them aborigines.
Their skin was pale, almost translucent under the soft, golden hue of the storage’s light.
Their eyes shimmered faintly, reflecting colors Ivy couldn’t name, and their hair moved as if stirred by a breeze that wasn’t there.
Ivy froze. The figures stood still, watching her silently.
