CHAPTER 260: CHAPTER 260: DREAM

There were five of them, dressed in primitive-looking robes made from materials she didn’t recognize, woven silver fibers that gave off a soft glow.

Their presence didn’t feel hostile, yet it kind of scared Ivy.

For a long moment, no one spoke. Then one of them, a tall man with sharp features and long, snow-white hair, took a step forward.

"Ivy?" His deep, mellow voice made Ivy pause as an ache spread across her head. "When are you going to contact us?"

"You... who are you..." Ivy’s eyes narrowed in alertness, and she stepped back.

The tall man froze as if he didn’t expect such a reaction from Ivy.

His beautiful purple eyes stared at Ivy, and he softly said,

"You seem to have forgotten us. But... time is running out. And they will soon find you. So try to remember us. When even after 6 months, you couldn’t remember us... I will contact you. Just remember to let go of all the regret and hatred, and all the memories will be clear to you. They are coming for you. Be safe."

"No... who are you all? What do you mean? What time is running out? And who is coming for me?" Ivy’s heart was pounding with panic, and even the slight sadness in the man’s eyes made her feel sad.

What was going on?

"You will know." The tall man spoke again, and Ivy noticed an anomaly; though she could see them... she could not remember their facial features... even their eyes and hair color...

’Remember them. They are important! The future is connected with them!’ A voice in her mind spoke, and Ivy felt her head spinning.

"Thank god Ivy didn’t touch the ring in this life." It was an unfamiliar yet familiar voice that spoke, but Ivy felt a heaviness in her chest.

Why? Why were they thankful?

Was she seriously forgetting something? What was it?

A fog enveloped Ivy, and the next second she woke up with a jolt, sweat trickled down her forehead, and her hand automatically tried to search for Silas.

What greeted her, though, was... a cold bed. With trembling legs, she stumbled out of her bed and ran toward the door.

The familiar voice of laughing and chatting echoed, but Ivy only felt her heart pounding.

With force, she opened the door and saw... her parents and Silas sitting at the table chatting with each other. It was a table she had specifically built so that after they had their beauty sleep, they could chat with each other.

The slight chilly breeze grazed Ivy’s cheeks, and when the familiar fragrance of food wafted to her nose, she knew she wasn’t dreaming.

But... what was she even dreaming about again?

Ivy clutched her head, trying to remember, but the more she tried, the more it hurt. Fragments of voices echoed faintly in her mind...

Ring... she doesn’t have to touch the ring... but why?

There were also some people in her dreams... what did they look like? And what were they saying?

"Ivy? Dear? What happened?" Helena’s melodic voice, carrying faint concern, made Ivy’s anxiety slowly vanish.

"Nothing... just a bad dream," Ivy muttered.

Yes... so what if she couldn’t remember the dream? Maybe later... she would remember?

"Come here." Silas’s deep voice attracted Ivy’s attention, and she slowly moved in his direction.

Once the familiar warmth of his embrace enveloped her, Ivy’s trembling eased.

Silas gently rested his chin on her shoulder, his fingers tracing slow, soothing circles along her back.

"You’re shivering," he murmured softly, concern lacing his tone. "Did you dream of something frightening again?"

Ivy leaned into his chest, taking in the steady rhythm of his heartbeat.

"I... I don’t know. It felt real, but I can’t remember it anymore. Just... voices and light."

Helena smiled faintly, returning to the table, trying to ease the tension.

"Dreams are often our mind’s way of releasing stress, dear. Maybe you’ve been thinking too much lately."

"Maybe," Ivy whispered, but her voice lacked conviction. A wave of hollowness flashed in her heart, but she suppressed it.

"By the way, sister, can I use the vegetables and other items to make food?" Felix asked; his attempt to change the topic was glaringly obvious, but Ivy played along.

"Sure, take whatever you want."

Anyways, with the food she picks up and multiplies... they will never have to worry about the food in this lifetime.

"Yay! Today I will make vegetable soup, fish fry, seafood stew, and 3 different desserts! Sister, what kind of desserts do you like the most?" Felix asked while Ivy gulped the saliva.

Though she had a lot of raw ingredients as well as a good cook (Silas), she mainly focused on hoarding food and rarely had a good feast.

But now, hearing her brother’s list, she was looking forward to it.

"She doesn’t like to eat desserts," Silas skillfully interrupted. "She prefers spicy dishes and rarely eats sweets."

Felix rolled his eyes before turning toward Ivy to confirm. When he saw her nod, he grinned, "Then I will make more spicy dishes!"

Now Ivy forgot entirely about the dream. Food first!

Due to Ivy’s hoarding habit, there were many kitchen utensils in the storage space.

Felix used them with relish, while the Nightbane family talked casually.

"Ember, how about proposing to Jay’s family? Now we can offer 1000 kg of rice." Helena softly suggested.

Before, she didn’t dare to hand over the last bit of food since she hadn’t reunited with Ivy, but now that she had, Helena became carefree.

With her and her husband’s capabilities and her son’s powers, they can live a comfortable life and have enough to feed Ivy.

"Let’s forget about it." Ember lowered her head and refused to talk.

Ivy was curious about how Jay and Ember’s engagement was broken off. In her previous, it was a taboo topic, and no one ever talked about it.

But now?

"Tell me about this engagement and why it’s even breaking off." Ivy asked curiously.
