Zombie Apocalypse: I Have Safe Zone Superpower
Chapter 66: I Love You
CHAPTER 66: CHAPTER 66: I LOVE YOU
Past life:
"Ivy? Wake up, dear." Seraphian’s forced sweet voice echoed in Ivy’s ears, and she groggily woke up. Looking at the abandoned warehouse, her heart skipped a beat, and she started to struggle.
"Where am I?" She asked in a panicked voice, realizing the grave danger she was in.
Seraphina ignored her and walked past her. Ivy’s eyes followed her, and she continued to ask, "Seraphina, I am asking you something..."
Midway through her sentence, she froze. Standing in front of her were Ravencroft family members. Isla, Magnus, Seraphina, and Damian.
"No! No." Ivy tried to crawl back, but her hands and legs were tied with ropes. Her heart was filled with panic.
"Oh, Ivy, did you truly think I would let you reach Silas?" Isla asked, her feminine voice disgusted Ivy to the core.
"Have you forgotten? I want your superpowers, and since they’re in crystal form inside your brain, I just need to open your skull and get them." She continued as if it were the most natural thing that should happen.
Ivy growled and backed away, "Don’t come near me. I am telling you... If I die, Silas will kill you all."
"But how? Isn’t he my fiancé? I will tell him that you have run away with Leo." Isla laughed, her eyes shimmering with delight.
"What have I even done to Isla? I am your biological sister! Why do you all hate me so much?" Ivy couldn’t figure it out. Since her childhood, this pair of siblings tortured her, loathed her, and even insulted her at every possible moment.
"Because you are not my biological sister." Isla’s nonchalant voice echoed in the warehouse, "We found you in an abandoned alleyway."
"Liar!" Ivy shouted. She couldn’t believe her ears and kept on shaking her head. Her hopeful eyes turned toward Seraphina who was now looking at her with pity.
Her world seemed to have come crashing down, and the fog clouding her mind cleared up.
"You b*stard! Even if that is the case, you don’t have any right to torture me! I have always remained loyal to you all!"
Ivy could feel her heart getting chilled when she saw the amused expressions on Damian and Isla’s faces. They felt remorse for their actions.
"Why did you even pick me up when you just wanted to make me suffer?" She questioned doubts filling her mind as she struggled to loosen the ropes.
A glint flashed in Seraphina and Magnus’s eyes, which they quickly hid. And since Isla and Damian’s backs were facing them, they too didn’t notice it.
"Are you so dumb? Our family wanted a punching bag that could give us some returns, too. You know, Ivy, if it wasn’t for the apocalypse, we would have sold you to the black market." Isla sighed.
’Monsters... I have been living with monsters,’ Ivy thought. She wished to go back in time and kill them all. ’No... I have to run away from here!’
"Brother, please start." Isla was getting impatient.
Ivy wants to drag the inevitable, opened her mouth, "Stop, I still have some questions..."
"Shut up." Damian barked harshly, "Do you truly think we can’t see you are trying to delay?"
He walked towards Ivy with a hammer in his hand and, without hesitation, swung it.
Clang.
The blow was straight to her head, followed by a throbbing pain that spread through Ivy’s head.
"Ahhh!"
Blood seeped from Ivy’s corner of mouth, while her ears were ringing with pain. Her head felt as if it were torn open.
Damian continued his assault, and by the time he was finished, Ivy had entered a state of unconsciousness.
All Ivy could feel was intense pain and blood that blurred her vision, while the Ravencroft family saw a gruesome scene where Ivy’s skull was cracked open and a gleaming red crystal with an orange shade nestled inside.
Damian plucked it out, and if Ivy weren’t a superhuman, she wouldn’t have been alive by now.
In fact, her condition wasn’t that good at all. She was on the verge of dying, and the excruciating pain made her wish to die.
She thought she would die and closed her eyes unwillingly. She could hear Isla’s joyful laughter and the Ravencroft family’s gleeful comments.
However, now... she just wanted to die. May heaven take revenge on her behalf.
That was how Ivy thought her end would be, but a familiar voice called her out, followed by a familiar warm embrace.
"Ivy? Wake up! I am sorry! I am sorry for arriving late." Silas’s voice echoed in Ivy’s ears, and suddenly she wanted to cry.
She wanted to hug him and tell him about all the things she had suffered, she wanted to tell him just how pain she was in and tell him just how much she regretted her decision of not listening to his words.
A few cold water droplets on her face, and the trembling hands holding her told her... Silas was crying.
Ivy could also feel the cold trail of water sliding from the corner of her eyes and realized... she was crying too.
Crying because she knew... one of them won’t survive this time. Her only regret was... she never said ’I love you’ to Silas.
A lifetime together, and never once did she think she had such a short time. She should have cherished him... and not rejected him.
She couldn’t understand how they ended up like this... Clearly they had spent 20 years together, and yet there weren’t more than 10 sweet moments she had spent with him.
"I love you, Ivy," Silas whispered in her ear softly.
’I love you too, Silas.’ Ivy replied, but her response never reached Silas.
A warm current followed in her body, and the pain started to fade. Ivy’s heart was consumed by panic as she understood what Silas was doing.
He had told her how he had gained a healing ability that was related to his life force, and as long as he wants, he can save anyone, even from death.
