CHAPTER 79: CHAPTER 79: BRILLIANT IDEA

If Ivy knew about the Whitmore couple’s thought process, she might have laughed. She wasn’t kind. She only rescued them because Alana could be a useful superhuman for her base.

Once she built her base, she would need talent. At that time, Alana will prove to be resourceful. Ivy’s mood soared, and she killed some of the zombies just to prevent herself from lagging behind.

[Ding! You have earned 100 KB.]

"It must be from Alana." Ivy thought. Her thoughts were interrupted again when another notification sounded in her mind.

[Ding! You have earned 100 KB.]

"Again?" Ivy was surprised and concluded that maybe one was from Alana while the other was from Felix.

It doesn’t matter to her, though. Her current balance was almost at 267.7 KB, and it was enough to make her thrilled.

"If I help more, I will be able to upgrade and start the construction of my own base!" Ivy almost cheered.

Today, she truly gained a lot. Medicines, kb, and even space crystal.

Midway through her journey, she saw the familiar black Jeep Wrangler. The door of the passenger seat was opened, and Silas rushed out.

Before Ivy could react, her world spun, and she found herself in a warm embrace, followed by Silas’s choked voice.

"Where were you? I thought you... you..."

He didn’t finish his words, but Ivy understood his concerns. Her heart warmed; the woody scent of his made her heart flutter.

"I am fine... I just went out for a walk." Ivy assured him, feeling him trembling slightly. At the thought of how much worried he might have been, her heart ached.

Pulling away, he led her toward the car and soon drove to the military compound. Once inside the apartment, Silas watched Ivy’s footwear, and his brows furrowed.

He didn’t comment and instead asked, "Have you eaten anything?"

Though he asked, he was already walking toward the kitchen fully certain that the pink woman must have skipped her dinner.

Ivy shook her head, watching as Silas froze in surprise at the entrance of the kitchen. Earlier, he was in a hurry to find her and didn’t pay attention to the food supplies.

But now... he frowned and asked, "What is this?"

"The supplies that the Ravencroft family stole from you," Ivy explained patiently, her soft footsteps echoing.

"But it is way too much compared to..." what has been stolen from him. Silas didn’t finish his words, but Ivy understood the implication and shook her head.

"That’s the interest the Ravencroft family owes you." Ivy’s nonchalant voice made Silas purse his lip to prevent himself from chuckling.

Suddenly, he thought of the scene in her room and asked, "There was a voice coming from your room... have you taken in some kind of animal?"

She uttered a soft "Hm," her lie slipping out effortlessly. Her poise remained unshaken, as if the scene behind her door didn’t exist.

Silas’s lips curled slightly, changing the topic. He asked, "What would you like to eat?"

"Anything is fine," Ivy replied, though she still didn’t close the distance between them. She didn’t resist the closeness either.

After dinner, she entered the room and beamed.

"Seraphina, no use in trying to open your husband’s ropes. The grip is so tight that he will only be harmed more if you continue to struggle."

Seraphina, with her hands tied behind her back and was trying to open Magnus’s rope. She froze, hearing Ivy’s words, and tried to shout at her.

But the rag in her mouth restricted her freedom of speech. The twisted expression on Seraphina’s face was enough to express her hatred for Ivy.

There was also Isla and Magnus, who quivered at seeing. Two of them had long ago accepted the fact that they can’t escape from the devil’s paws.

Only Seraphina possessed both the audacity and the lingering dream of one day bending Ivy to her will... a desire still firmly rooted in her heart.

Ivy sauntered over to her and swung her hand.

"Mphm!" Seraphina shouted, outraged by the slap. The stinging pain on her cheeks fueled her rage, but Ivy only smirked.

How can she let this pair of cockroaches die so easily? They tortured her, humiliated her, and used her like a slave. They even had the audacity to toy with her.

Letting them die... will be mercy to them. Without hesitation, Ivy took out a whip from the Temporal Storage and started a venting session.

Screams of agony muffled by the rug echoed in the room. Toward the end, Seraphina lost all of her arrogance and even lowered her head to beg for mercy.

Feeling satisfied by the various degrees of injuries marring their body, Ivy stored the whip and went to her bed.

Since her temporal storage can only accommodate any living beings other than her for only a day, she could only take them out and leave them in her room.

She frowned when she thought of how they might sully her room after holding their biological urge, and asked the temporal storage.

"Can you make a cheaper bathroom?"

[Would you like to make a bathroom? The cost is 1 kb.]

"Is there any cheaper option?" Ivy asked.

[Would you like to make a bathroom? The cost is 1 kb.] The Temporal Storage repeated like a broken record on loop.

Ivy frowned before using various commands. She had an epiphany that she might not be using the right words and just needed to say a certain keyword.

After multiple trials, she commanded, "Demoted version of bathroom."

[Would you like to make a lower-grade bathroom? The cost is 0.9 kb.]

"Even lower. Lowest grade bathroom!" Ivy was thrilled and answered. To her delight, the temporal storage replied,

[Would you like to make an economical bathroom? The cost is 0.000000000001kb.]

"Yes!" Ivy agreed. For these dogs, she wasn’t ready to spend a penny, and she will surely earn back the penny she spent on them.

Her eyes brightened when she thought of a mental disease and looked at the three people with a gleam in her eyes.
