Zombie Apocalypse: I Have Safe Zone Superpower
Chapter 81: Ghost?
CHAPTER 81: CHAPTER 81: GHOST?
"Ivy! What the hell is this place? There was a ghost...mmph! Mmph!" A rough rag cut off Isla’s words, muffling her cries as she thrashed, fear twisting in her chest like a vice.
Slap. Ivy slapped Isla hard and silenced her completely.
"I hate it when you use your shrill voice. Try to use your fake melodious voice, and I might be in the mood to entertain you."
With that, she threw Isla to the ground and looked at the Ravencroft family, "Get used to the life you are living now. This is your new reality."
Her words chilled the heart of the Ravencroft family. Magnus opened his mouth to speak, but Ivy pushed a rag and applied scotch tape.
Looking at her masterpiece. Ivy tied them all and ignored them. Though she wanted to store all of them in a damp basement, she doesn’t have one.
Ivy wasn’t worried they would break free. Just now, she checked the ropes and realized that Silas might have changed the knotting style to military knotting style.
Her mind echoed the conversation she had just a few seconds ago when Isla was still inside the temporal storage using the washroom.
.......
"I... I wanted to take his place... but... but I... I am too weak." Seraphina gave a half-hearted explanation, making the small flicker of light in Magnus’s eyes die down.
He looked at Seraphina with disappointment before, looking away. Ivy chuckled. She thought that after lying, Seraphina might feel a bit ashamed and keep her mouth shut, but underestimated Seraphina’s shamelessness.
"Where is Damian?"
Seeing the worried expression, Ivy chuckled, "He is repenting for his crime somewhere else."
The hope in Seraphina’s eyes slowly turned into despair, and her shoulders slumped. What she didn’t know was... Ivy was lying all along.
In all the chaos, she forgot about him.
......
"He must have returned to the apartment, right?" Ivy muttered, took out her phone, and messaged someone.
"What a pity... if only Damian hadn’t worn the ring... I could still have it." Ivy muttered. She knew the rule; others didn’t. Once someone drops their blood on the ring, it recognizes them as its master.
In this life, when she saw the slight glow Damian’s ring was emitting, she knew he had already made the contract.
Even if she chops off Damian’s ring and tries to pull it out, it won’t come out.
"Let’s see... after his death, will I be able to get my hands on the ring?" Ivy muttered, put away her phone, and closed her eyes as sleep consumed her.
The next morning, Ivy woke up, stretched her arms, and took a quick shower in her Temporal Storage before making her way to the kitchen.
She was thinking of preparing breakfast for Silas today. However, to her surprise, Silas was already awake and was almost done making it.
"Good morning." Noticing her arrival, he cheerfully greeted her, but Ivy noticed he didn’t look too well. Fatigue lingered on his face, and she frowned,
"Did you have a meeting last night?"
Silas shook his head, his tousled hair bouncing due to the sudden movement, making him look adorable and sexy at the same time.
His deep eyes stared at her, as if the world itself wasn’t worth much to him. Ivy’s heart pounded, and the urge to kiss his lips suddenly ignited.
With an apron on his white t-shirt and black trousers, he gave off a homely vibe, while the short sleeves of his t-shirt accentuated his strong and well-shaped biceps.
’I suddenly feel hungry.’ Ivy thought, while gulping at the sight. Silas’s deep bass tone echoed, breaking the silence lingering in the air.
’Focus! Focus! He is sick, maybe! You should care for him, not lust after his body!’
"So... why are you looking so tired?" Ivy asked hesitantly, and she could see the hesitation flickering in his eyes.
"What happened?" Worry was evident in her voice.
"I just... have insomnia for the past few days." Silas confessed, "I can’t sleep properly at all."
Ivy blinked and she recalled whether Silas had such a problem in her past life. And that is when she remembered that it was indeed the case.
In her previous life, Silas used to stay awake 3 days straight, and sometimes he used to only sleep for 3 hours a day.
During the 2nd year of the apocalypse, his condition had worsened too. Since Ivy was troubled by her own problems, she hardly paid any attention to him.
But now she regretted her decisions from her past life. If only... if only she had paid more attention to him.
"Do you want me to give you a head massage?" Ivy proposed that it was the only solution she could come up with after thinking for a long time.
To her disappointment, Silas shook his head and gave a bitter smile, "No. It won’t make any change."
Ivy’s shoulder slumped, her mood turned a bit gloomy, as anxiety gripped her heart. Her mood brightened when Silas continued,
"There is another solution. Though I don’t know if you will be ready to help me with it."
"I will! Just tell me." Ivy’s mind was filled with worry. At this moment, even a little help could make a huge difference for Silas.
"The only time I had a good sleep the last time was when I..." He sneaked at her, making her heart pound loudly, "...slept with you."
It took Ivy 4 minutes to process Silas’s words before she bit her lips and asked, "Do you want me to sing a lullaby for you?"
She was trying to steer away from the topic, but Silas’s bitter laugh made her flinch.
"I knew it." He murmured in a voice only two of them could hear, "I was overreaching. Even if I am suffering, it has nothing to do with you. Not to mention, sleeping beside must indeed be a hassle for you."
Ivy shook her head, feeling guilt clouding her heart, "No... It’s not like that... I..."
Silas raised his hand and schooled his expression into forced calm, "It’s alright, Ivy. I understand."
With that, he turned and continued with the cooking. If Henry were present there, he might have given a standing ovation to Silas.
