CHAPTER 954: CHAPTER 951: POSSESSION

The speed of Lin Tian’s action was like thunder and lightning; in just a blink, he disappeared from the sofa and reappeared in front of the desk in the bedroom. His fingers formed into a claw as he quickly reached for the red light orb. Just as he was about to seize it, the orb suddenly trembled and shot to the side, unexpectedly avoiding Lin Tian’s capture.

The orb surprisingly had consciousness and could evade attacks. More importantly, its speed was considerable. Lin Tian furrowed his brow slightly but soon figured it out.

The red light orb likely didn’t have independent consciousness; rather, the one who cast the witchcraft had infused a sliver of consciousness into it. Its speed was due to its nonphysical nature.

Although the orb had evaded Lin Tian’s capture, its movement interrupted the absorption of Zhao Ya’s life force. The orb flickered midair in the bedroom as if wanting to return to the Yin Yang Life Spirit Grass, yet it hesitated because of its fear of Lin Tian.

"I don’t believe I can’t catch you," Lin Tian thought to himself. His body flickered suddenly as he leaped upwards, reaching for the orb again, only to grasp empty air once more. The orb shot along Lin Tian’s arm, flew past his ear, and then through the door, arriving in the living room.

Seeing the orb choose the door as its escape route, Lin Tian was not worried but delighted; this indicated that the orb couldn’t penetrate solid objects, otherwise, it would have escaped through the ceiling long ago.

The orb flew erratically around the living room as if searching for an exit. Lin Tian would not give it the chance; with a few quick steps, he dashed into the living room, moving deftly to pull up the curtains on the balcony and the windows, closing all the doors.

The living room went dark instantly, with the only source of light being the faint red glow from the orb in the air.

"Let’s see where you run now!" Lin Tian yelled at the orb.

Just as he said this, the door clicked open, and two people appeared behind it. Lin Tian could see clearly that they were Zi Yan and Kikuchi Mika.

During the day, the door had already been damaged by Lin Tian, so it wasn’t locked at all, and the two simply pushed it open. Seeing the dim living room, Zi Yan was startled, and upon noticing the red orb midair, she was even more baffled, as was Kikuchi Mika.

But the orb had made its move long ago, zooming out the moment the door opened. Just as Lin Tian rushed out, the orb had already collided with Zi Yan.

According to Lin Tian’s thoughts, the orb shouldn’t be able to penetrate solid objects and should have bounced back. Who knew that upon striking Zi Yan, it drilled into her nasal cavity, causing a red flash in her head, making her whole body stiffen.

"Sister..." Lin Tian shouted, dashing in front of Zi Yan.

"Brother Lin, we... we just wanted to help you..." Kikuchi Mika said pitifully, realizing they had caused trouble.

"It’s not your fault; it’s definitely Zi Yan’s idea. Since it has already happened, don’t dwell on whether it was a mistake, let’s check on Sister first," Lin Tian said helplessly.

Kikuchi Mika was always obedient and would never act on her own, but Zi Yan was more devious and restless.

"Blame me, blame Sister. I was just worried about you and risked coming down, who would have known I’d run into such a big mess the moment I opened the door," Zi Yan suddenly said.

"Sister, are you okay?" Lin Tian asked in surprise.

"Can speak, can’t move, do you think I’m okay?" Zi Yan said unhappily.

Being able to speak but not move sounded all too familiar; Lin Tian thought back to when he was possessed by the Demon Blade Muramasa, wasn’t it just like this?

"Sister, you must be possessed," Lin Tian concluded, circling around Zi Yan, examining her.

"Brother Lin, could it be a ghost possession?" Kikuchi Mika asked fearfully.

Zi Yan panicked and shouted, "Junior Brother, quickly get it out, what kind of ghost is this?"

"Sister said it wrong; that orb is not a ghost. To be precise, it’s a type of witchcraft. But looking at it this way, it doesn’t seem to threaten life, so you are temporarily safe," Lin Tian analyzed, easing his concern slightly knowing Zi Yan wasn’t in immediate danger.

"I don’t feel safe at all," Zi Yan sighed in relief but still felt unsafe.

"Don’t worry, let me take a look first..." Lin Tian waved his hand, intending to activate his X-ray vision to see where the orb was hidden.

But before he could look, Zi Yan suddenly turned and started running outside, with speed far exceeding her usual pace.

As she ran, she shouted, "Lin Tian, quickly chase me, don’t let me run away..."

Damn it, don’t let me run away, what’s the logic in that? Lin Tian felt like a flock of crows flew over his head. No, she was actually right; the orb must be controlling Zi Yan’s actions.

Damn orb, trying to trick me? Lin Tian took off in pursuit. Although Zi Yan was performing at a level beyond her usual speed, her limit was still there, and it was no higher than Lin Tian’s.

So, with just a bit of acceleration, Lin Tian caught up to Zi Yan before she could reach the elevator, grabbing her by the shoulder.

Knowing escape was impossible, Zi Yan leaned back, attempting to throw Lin Tian over her shoulder, but Lin Tian didn’t resist forcefully to avoid harming Zi Yan. So he ended up being tossed to the front, yet he landed gracefully and regained his balance.

"Lin Tian, don’t underestimate me. I’ve trained in women’s self-defense. Apply some force, don’t let that damn orb succeed," Zi Yan assumed a defensive posture, her words both exasperating and amusing.

But she just finished speaking before throwing a punch at Lin Tian’s nose. Lin Tian dodged the fist helplessly, maneuvering behind her and then effortlessly scooping her up by the waist.

Zi Yan, or rather, the orb controlling her, struggled incessantly, limbs flailing, but Lin Tian stood firm and immovable, letting her hit him as if it were mere tickling.

"Hey, Junior Brother, why are you holding me? Don’t take advantage of me," Zi Yan shouted while struggling.

"You reminded me," Lin Tian replied to himself, stroking Zi Yan’s slender waist as he held her. Even through her clothes, he could feel her skin’s smoothness.

"Lin Tian, stop it! How dare you touch Sister’s waist? Wait till I deal with you," Zi Yan shrieked in anger.

With a "bang," a door behind them opened, followed by someone angrily shouting, "Late at night, what’s all the noise? Can’t people sleep?!"

Lin Tian turned with a smile, "Sorry, sir, just some marital squabble, it will be over soon." After glaring for a moment, the person slammed the door shut with another bang.

"Hey, Lin Tian, clarify! Who’s your wife? Your Sister here is unmarried, don’t ruin my reputation," Zi Yan protested.

Lin Tian was too lazy to explain, carrying her back into the living room, slamming the door shut. Kikuchi Mika had long turned on the living room lights.

"I say, damn orb, don’t make unnecessary struggles, or I’ll smash you to bits." Lin Tian held Zi Yan, warning, and perhaps the warning worked, as Zi Yan stopped struggling.
