Zombie Bodyguard
Chapter 964 - 961: Bat Spirit
CHAPTER 964: CHAPTER 961: BAT SPIRIT
"Damn it, another half zombie?" Lin Tian cursed to himself. He wasn’t afraid of half zombies—in fact, it was more of a hassle to kill them. They were like cockroaches, hard to kill after such a long time.
Wait, that’s not right. It’s not a half zombie, because if it were, the broken glass wouldn’t be able to pierce the skin and muscles of a half zombie, Lin Tian thought.
Sure enough, the Black Robed Man sneered, "I don’t know what you mean by half zombie; it’s a real zombie. This is my Bat Spirit, and it will tear you to pieces and turn you into my flower fertilizer."
"Kill him! Don’t leave the body intact," the Black Robed Secret Master ordered.
Tan Yuan received the order and suddenly let out a sharp cry. At this moment, Tan Yuan completely changed. He was no longer the mysterious figure, but more like a demon.
He stared fiercely at Lin Tian, suddenly lunging forward, clawing at Lin Tian with sharp, outstretched nails.
This time, Lin Tian did not dodge. He punched out, directly breaking Tan Yuan’s arms. It wasn’t enough; the remaining force of the punch pounded violently into Tan Yuan’s chest.
The force was so great that not only did it break Tan Yuan’s arms, but it also broke many ribs, causing Tan Yuan to spew out a mouthful of fresh blood.
"Useless, can’t even defeat a mere student!" the Black Robed Secret Master shouted angrily, stepping forward to slap Tan Yuan on the top of his head.
Tan Yuan’s mouth opened wide, and then his throat moved as if something was crawling out of his stomach. Soon, something crawled out of his mouth, it was a black bat.
"Damn it, that’s disgusting. Swallowed a live bat!" Lin Tian said in disgust.
The Black Robed Secret Master beckoned, and the bat flew into his hand. He even stroked the bat’s sharp teeth, laughing cruelly, "Hehe, what do you know? This is my Bat Spirit. It loves the taste of fresh blood and can suck you dry."
"Hahaha... drink my blood?" Lin Tian laughed as if hearing the funniest joke in the world.
A mighty zombie being threatened by a Secret Master to be drained of blood? Is this a joke sent by God?
"Hmph, truly ignorant of life and death!" the Black Robed Secret Master snorted coldly, and with a flick of his hand, the bat flew around the underground chamber, making strange noises as it flew.
Hearing this sound, Lin Tian felt as if his head was suddenly struck, causing him to feel a bit dizzy.
That damn Black Robed Secret Master is cunning. He talks about the bat sucking blood, but the next move is sound wave attacks. Lin Tian felt he had been too careless.
However, Lin Tian just cleared his mind and the dizziness immediately disappeared. Mere sound wave attacks, even bolstered with the Secret Master’s witchcraft, couldn’t shake his willpower.
"Come out, my friends, enjoy your feast!" the Black Robed Secret Master chanted, with black smoke rising from his hand. As he pressed it against the ground, the black smoke spread out in all directions, catching Lin Tian off guard, causing him to retreat backward.
Who would’ve thought that the ethereal black smoke would have such tremendous power? Lin Tian didn’t know if this was the Black Robed Secret Master’s summoning ritual or some strange witchcraft.
The black smoke not only pushed Lin Tian back but also smashed into the glass cabinets in the chamber, the "bang bang bang" sound of shattering glass echoing as all the cabinets were destroyed, along with the bottles and jars inside.
After the bottles and jars shattered, countless small insects crawled out, and that wasn’t all. A "sahasaha" sound came from all around the chamber walls, followed by a flood of tiny insects pouring out from the crevices.
In the blink of an eye, the insects swarmed the entire underground chamber. The walls, including the ceiling, were covered in a black layer of tiny bugs, wriggling in clumps, making one’s skin crawl. Tan Yuan, who was lying on the ground, had long been engulfed by the bugs—he must be doomed by now.
Luckily, I don’t have a fear of dense clusters. Otherwise, there’d be no need to fight, I’d pass out immediately, Lin Tian thought to himself.
Although there were many bugs, Lin Tian remained calm. He had seen bigger scenes than this—a small chamber full of bugs was nothing. Once, in the shrine, the entire flower house was full of insects; that was truly a spectacle.
However, he especially hated bugs, particularly swarms like these. Lin Tian would rather fight dozens of half zombies than battle bugs.
Even though the bugs couldn’t harm him, a single punch wouldn’t eradicate many of them. Lin Tian suddenly missed the Heavenly Master Girl. If she were here, a Fiery Fire Red Lotus would both look good and be effective, burning through countless bugs like frying beans.
The bugs surged like a tide, but Lin Tian didn’t hesitate to strike—a punch erupted, carrying a fierce whirlwind. The violently compressed air exploded like a bomb, blowing apart a large area of insects.
But there were too many bugs, like a tide. As soon as one area was blown away, more surged in to fill the void. It was like cutting water with a knife—the water continued to flow.
Lin Tian suddenly switched from fist to palm, using it as a sword, and unleashed Miss’s Sword Energy Cross. Of course, he couldn’t produce sword light, but the whirlwind he stirred up was like a giant meat grinder, shredding all the bugs that approached.
Once he completed a Sword Energy Cross, an area around him was cleared—all the bugs were shredded. This change startled the Black Robed Secret Master. It was his first time seeing someone able to deal with his bugs barehanded.
But he quickly regained his composure—barehanded combat was always barehanded. Such high-intensity action would soon exhaust his energy, so he wasn’t worried about his bugs being wiped out.
Lin Tian never intended to kill all his bugs—it was a thankless task. So, once he cleared the surrounding bugs, he didn’t wait for more to surge in but charged directly at the Black Robed Secret Master.
Capture the ringleader first to settle everything. Of course, the Black Robed Secret Master realized Lin Tian’s intention; he knew how terrifying Lin Tian’s speed was, so he was prepared from the start.
The Black Robed Secret Master reached out, releasing strands of black energy, which seemed to pull a massive swarm of bugs towards him. He formed a sword finger and pointed at the bugs, causing them to suddenly explode.
After the bugs exploded, they didn’t turn to powder but transformed into a large mass of black mist, which quickly filled the entire underground chamber. The faint light couldn’t penetrate the black mist, making the chamber pitch-dark.
Lin Tian’s eyes flashed, and he immediately activated his Eye of Clarity. How could mere black mist block the vision of clarity?
He still threw a punch at the Black Robed Secret Master, the direction precise, striking the heart directly. With a loud bang, the Black Robed Secret Master was sent flying, hitting the wall, rolling down, and crushing countless bugs.
The Black Robed Secret Master lay motionless on the ground. However, Lin Tian didn’t feel a hint of happiness—instead, he frowned. When he struck the Black Robed Secret Master just now, the force feedback on his hand felt very wrong—unlike striking a human body.
